  1. Okay... so I heard a rumor (whilst accidently eavesdropping after AWiL.) I heard that you, the turist, could as like a character in the game (acting sneaky, and using fingers as guns ect) and the actors act back with you.

I doubt it... but I just wanted to check to see if this was valid in any way. If so... then the house merit just went up for me.

LOL you run the risk of looking nuts

  2. The actors are doing a great job as far as their movements though. I like what I am seeing a lot. actors are doing a really great job at acting as zombies. So it is cool to see them. Some Walkers have really scared me because of how well they blend with the crowd.
So I've gotten scared, The actors are doing a really good job in all the streets.

Edit: I take back what I said bout the make ups in the streets. I dont know if it is my imagination or what but the make up today was a lot better than Last week. I saw stuff I liked more today.

  3. I really like this house but I am pretty sad that we didn't get any of the puppets from the Hollywood house. I was really looking forward to seeing some of those.
Maybe those puppet things don't go with the story the house is telling but I really wanted to see those props in person.

Still, a great house. I liked it more than Resident Evil and Havoc actually. it is pretty neat.

  4. well... Like I said, if I don't want to be spoiled I don't watch it.

I have not done Evil Dead yet, or Afterlife. And I am not looking to see those videos. I had almost a week to watch them. But I never tried.

I saw Walking Dead because I didn't care about that. But I would not have watched an American Werewolf video if they had released one because I knew that house was going to be special.

I Understand the videos spoil everything, but I guess it's all about how much self control you can have. And like you said, people that cannot come to the event can at least take a look

And that to me is amazing from Universal. I really appreciate them for letting people record. Now we can have something to remind us.

I only wish they allowed videos earlier.... :(

(As for 2007, yeah I saw the dreamwalkers video they did for the news, but I wish there was a night vision walk through for texas and Friday the 13th.

  5. I'm really confused why Universal has done a 180 on video taping in the house.

Don't get me wrong I like seeing them later (That is why i want a DVD of the years event sold).

But geeze if someone watches all the complete walk throughs why bother going if you were one the fence? also people who atre trying to avoid things getting spoiled.. all this leaking of the houses makes it very hard for them.

It takes all the surprise out of it. Now a few years back they allowed people to tape the house and did a short complilation with a few highlights from each house. That makes sense. It wets the appitite without giving you the whole meal for free.

I am actually glad about the videos. I say this because some of my favorite houses (like in 2007) I barely remember anything at all. I have no memory of Texas Chainsaw besides the facade, yet I did that house like 40 times.

I would have loved to seen videos of that year. I know these videos spoil everything, that sucks for people that want to be surprised I can totally agree with that.

But I am really happy about the recordings. I mean.... I guess it comes down to will power. if someone doesn't want to be spoiled they don't have to click on it

  6. I saw a photo of like a stuffed Sam from Trick r Treat, Freddy, and Beetlejuice. Can you only win those at games or can you buy them?

I asked once if I could buy one of the Skull animals (those cute Plushies they have for prices) And the guy said that yeah you could buy it but it was something like 25 bucks. While playing the game is cheaper. I guess he was trying to say I could try to play the game to see if I won. But I think you can just buy it.

  7. well they are using puppets for American Werewolf in London. Just like the puppets in Resident Evil. (or the dog)

(or the lion puppet they used for Scary tales in 2008)

I thought we were going to get an Unicorn Puppet. I am sure it wouldn't look super realistic but it would be at least something nice. What made me sad about it was that they kept talking about it and hyping it up. they kept mentioning unicorn in interviews.
I would have liked even a static prop like Merman. I guess because they kept talking about it I expected to see something

  8. Alright, I gave in and watched two of the walk throughs of this because of how bad everyone was saying this house was (but I refuse to watch anymore after this & TWD). By both videos I saw, I completely disagree with what a lot of people are saying.

The sets look incredible, Nemesis appears a lot and the whole thing just gives off an Islands Of Adventure Jurassic Park vibe. The house is too short but at the same time, growing up in the arcade with games like House Of The Dead..I completely get what they were going for. Do some of the costumes look cheesy? Yeah but not as bad as others have stated (but definitely not Japan level). Like the dogs aren't nearly as horrible as I was picturing. I also think this is better then Silent Hill by what I watched. The only thing I hope they do is fix how loud the gunfire is, it doesn't sound anywhere near as apparent as it was in 2011s The Thing. I also hope they add a little more for the final scene but that set is really awesome. I'm actually more excited to walk through it now after watching that.

Now if you waited 120 mins for this (as it will be on peak nights) for a 3 minute experience...yeah I'd be a little uphappy but the nostalgia factor does this for me. I love a few particular scenes and the paused room has a lot of detail that is really cool. But once again I go into these houses to step into that world of the IP, not just for someone jumping out at me, so for that...this house suceeds by what I'm seeing.

    what videos?

  9. I loved the second part of the house, after the crash. Pretty amazing.
the first part is not bad, but I wish the DOWs were out of the cages. at least by the 3rd room they should have been out. I liked this house, but I wish the beginning was stronger.

  10. Well the puppet on jack was working last night, but the Nazi werewolfs were missing their masks in one room.

They still got a good scare on me, especially the one with the knife from the closet.

I really hope I can get to watch the werewolf attack, even if it is once.

  11. I would love to know the set times for all but that info is left up to the actors to share it or for us to figure out. Once the times become to their regular status.

Can't wait to get back to Cabin and see this jack in person.

Question to those who went this past weekend. Am I the only one that feels the streets are umm a little under the weather. I can't say there better than last year. I can say there's elements that bring it to a new level but overall I had a blast in the streets last year.

Also this new step of providing photographers in the streets could be a neat idea but there are certain areas this should and should not be.

I liked the sets and the streets look nice (I love the barn, so awesome). But the park felt a little emptier even than last year, kind of. I know there might be a lot of actors working, but I don't know. sometimes it feels like there were only a couple of walkers around.

The walkers I did see were doing a pretty good job, so I am happy to see them.

  12. I don't think this one is in the right place. I don't know why they put the chainsaws there, I don't know.... to me they would have worked better in front of Shrek or somewhere else.
As to where they are now it feels like a mess. too much people trying to walk to the other houses. The actors are doing a great job, Just that I don't think where they put them was a good place. I kind of wish they moved them somewhere else.

  13. I am going to sound nitpicky, but I was kind of expecting the cubes to be smaller and I was expecting them to have more creatures. I don't know, they cubes are so huge in the house, they were not that big in the movie, they were the size of an elevator. Nothing really wrong but they could have made the cubes maybe smaller and added a couple more props or creatures. Just an observation I had.

This might not be a bad thing, but this year some rooms in some houses feel too big on some houses, Making the actors appear smaller, sort of. Not really a bad thing but I think it is scarier when rooms are smaller and the actors are closer to you.

  14. So, now that they didn't give all the walkers on the streets masks but they used make up, Do the walkers look better than last year?

I still liked the masks more. The zombie make up doesn't really look that good to me. But I wonder if everyone likes the make up over the masks this year

  15. There's a Jack in there getting attacked by the werewolf, with a full size puppet on top of him that he controls. During the preview, the puppet suffered several problems and guests kept slapping our actor after mistaking him for a dummy, so they pulled him out while they fixed it. Yesterday he was finally in, but someone who shall remain unidentified caused a toe to fall off and a leg to break, and a guest put his head

through the scrim they set up to protect him.

I wonder if it is having so many problems and things breaking, I wonder if we will be able to see it the way it was intended or if that room will remain dark for the rest of the event.

I am still a little worried that the other puppets might get broken by guests. I Love the werewolves but they are too close to the guests and there is nothing to protect the puppets from the hands of a drunk guest....lol
