  1. So with me being a newbie with all of the HHN speculation, I decided to look at what Mike Aiello use to post on the Twitter last year and it was so much better. He was constantly posting hints and little pics of the sets being built. Why do you think they wanted to change this?

Got a friend that is "in-the-know" but won't ever give me any details (I have to find out most things from this forum). Either he sent me this as a red herring since he knows what I'll assume, or this was some kind of reward/tease and was sent to me as a legit hint. Does anyone know if there was some kind of commercial or photo shoot recently? That would make a lot more sense if so.

EDIT: Just for clarification. I don't think this was taken from inside a house. Wouldn't it be too early to have show lights? It also wouldn't make much sense for him to be inside the physical set up, which is why I ask if anyone knew of a photoshoot or commercials being shot.

Does that skull have a snake coming out of its mouth? If so, could it be a hint about the death eaters!? I see potions in the background!

  3. Discussion has died quite a bit with lack of announcements so I'll quote this from HHNU:

" As reported this week by HHNU Universal needs more scareactors, so they have released a list of body types to fill unspecified scareactor roles, they include:

    • 5′ 1” and under females with petite and youthful (childlike) appearance.
    • 5′ 6” to 5′ 10” African American females of athletic build.
    • 5′ 10” or taller females with a slim build.
    • 5′ 10” to 6′ 2” slender build males with ‘facial features’ (?) able to appear 30-39.
    • White males of age range 40 to 50.
    • 5′ 11′ to 6′ 5” slender build males.
    • 5′ 11′ or taller African American males of athletic build and must be tattoo free on chest, arms, abdomen, hands and neck.
    • Male and female Stilt Walkers Maximum up to weight 190lbs.
    • Seeking male stilt walkers 6’ – 6’ 8” in height . Must have previous BigFoot Stilt Walking Experience.

Anyone have any thoughts? I'm thinking the first bullet is the twins from the Shining, the African American males that need to be free of tattoos I'm assuming is the Coven aspect of AHS. Not sure about any of the others.

While we wait for an announcement (hopefully without withholding our breath)...

I wanted to mention I have been cast for HHN 27! I auditioned yesterday and was offered a role. I'd like to thank those of you on this forum who allowed me to blow up your inbox and helped answer my audition questions!

I wasn't told not to say anything about the audition, so I'll go ahead and mention one thing that stood out: They were asking if anyone would be willing to go completely bald for a role.

Congratulations! That is so exciting! Hopefully, you can give us more details later so we can be on the lookout for you! Bald eh? I wonder what that could mean?

  5. I don't know if this matters, but Hall-O-Scream tweeted about ticket prices today (they haven't tweeted anything since June 5). I know Universal probably won't want them stealing their Thunder for HHN, so maybe that will be an incentive to announce something today? Disney and Universal tend to piggyback each other with announcements according to my friends in Disney Marketing (i.e. Volcano Bay/Avatar). Maybe Universal does the same for Busch Gardens? Just a thought :)

This will be year #4 for me in a row. It started with 3 nights with RoF. Then It moved up to 6 nights year 2 with RoF +Express. Last year I went 8 nights with RoF + Express. This year I am planning on between 10-13 nights depending on the pass I get. I can't decide if I want Saturdays or not. However, whatever pass I end up buying will be with Express.

To me, I save up for this event all year...I am far from "rich". It has become a yearly tradition now and it seems like each year I just keep going for longer and longer. If i'm already dropping so much money on a hotel, airfare, food, etc, whats and extra $200? I am spending all this money to have a great time and totally escape the "real world". I don't want to be stuck waiting in hour long waits. I want to get my moneys worth and be able to see all the houses every night I go without rushing around or thinking of ways to beat the crowds. A lot of the times, one or two trips through a house is not enough. You will NEVER see every scareactor in one go. Last year I went thru a total of 91 times and it didn't matter what house it was, I was always finding some new detail or seeing a new actor every time.

I know for me, having the Express pass makes me able to appreciate the event ambiance a little bit more. The first night is always "MUST DO ALL OF THE HOUSES" since we've waited so long. But once I've seen everything, I like to engage more with the scarezone actors and people watch. I think one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life is one of the Chainsaw Rednecks last year in Springfield making a 200-lb jock sprint about 50 yards. It's those little things that having Express tends to give me. But I can see how planning better would help. However, I live in Orlando, so my cost is only admission and then alcohol and merch. No flights or hotels (except Hard Rock for my birthday in October!).

  7. I love hearing about everyone's HHN traditions! Since news is scarce now, I'll ask another question to prompt discussion: Who here splurges on Express passes? I know my fiance and I do, but I have friends who avidly love HHN yet still don't buy it. I think for something I go to at least 20 times, it just makes sense. Thoughts?

Please excuse me while I go google and purchase a "wine rack bra"

I already bought one for the sole intent on using it for HHN this year and so far it's awesome. We are going to test it at the park on Monday. My fiance and I love the event and go almost every night, so saving a few dollars each night on alcohol helps!

Random question for those of y'all who are coming to the event this year, what do you do to get yourself amped up for HHN? I know I love to watch "The Tim Tracker's" videos from past years, and the old Bill and Ted shows. I was curious if anyone else had these traditions.

One big difference between the 2 is that Orlando sells alcohol at the event and Hollywood doesn't. Not to sound like an alcoholic (I only drink on occasions) , but I like to have a few drinks while walking around HHN and I think it's foolish of them to not sell alcohol.

I honestly don't think I could handle HHN stone cold sober. I'm way too on edge! I tried one night this past year, and I was way too aware of all of the scareactors in the scarezones. I just wish is wasn't so expensive to drink!

I really did enjoy the Coven season of AHS and I think it has a pretty good potential too. After just getting back from New Orleans I'd love to see how much they put into that section of the house. I want to feel completely immersed in both of the Voodoo type properties we have this year.

Logged in today on my bday hoping for some fresh rumors of changes or confirmations. Oh well. Side note/question: with the rumor of the bayou facede featuring a steamboat, do you think we'll start out in a swamp and move inland? Possibly to a run down shack or plantation

    Happy Birthday!

I want the 08 build back, the question is would that be enough to lure in the GP and can all the leaks be plugged?

I'm not in marketing, but I see the reactions of the fan base as well as the GP.

A slow build with intermittent announcements for the big draws. Let us play with you if your going to be "play cryptic games". And for the love of all things horror, stop being so predictable!

Chessy, creepy selfie guy looks like a creeper. Not frightening in a "horror way", but in a "crazy fanboy, must avoid way". Or it's just laughable. You are trying too hard, my dear social media team.

Your comebacks and burns border on the cliche.

That ginger comment was well prepared in advanced. I knew how they would reply. Want to burn or be cryptic? Stop being a predictable "horror villain". We get it your "spooky and edgy", but your clues are easy to solve. Your threats lack imagination.

You are dealing with a group of people who have, in the past, driven to a Chin ese restaurant to translate a riddle. (That is not hyperbole). There's a reason long time fans only engage with you in snippets while dismissing your attempts at banter. We've had far better opponents in the past.

But does Joe the Plumber who's wondering where to take his family this fall have any idea about the leaks we all rave about?  You'd think it would benefit Universal to have more buzz about the event earlier on

Then again Ive never managed a marketing initiative for a multi-billion dollar company so I should probably shut my mouth lol

I like having things drop at an interval. It makes the build up/anticipation that much sweeter.

In my opinion, if they wait too long, fans will stop having things to talk about and the buzz will die.

  14. I was just visiting the site and was randomly prompted to fill out a survey regarding the site itself. It asked me a few times if the site was "engaging" or "interactive". It also asked me for comments so I made sure to let them know we are annoyed waiting for announcements.

  15. I'm honestly worried that them "updating the site" slightly means they aren't going to announce anything this week. I mean, why update the site for a day or two when you know it's going to change to include the icon(s)? My bet is next week now. This is getting ridiculous though. They are so enjoying our torture.

The only bright side is that I ordered my FFP+ with Express yesterday!

They usually let the guides pick which houses they do after they get a read on the group, but they tend to stick to six certain ones.

If I had to guess (assuming our guesses for houses and locations are close), I would say AHS, Shining, Bayou, Catacombs, Ash, and either Blumhouse or Saw will be the most common ones seen.

I will say, if Catacombs (or whatever it ends up being called) is similar to Tomb of the Ancients conceptually; then that one can be struck off the list 99% of the time.

I haven't done a tour before, but I'm going to for my birthday this year. What made Tomb of the Ancients so different that we couldn't tour it? Just curious.
