Since there is an overall gambling theme this year, I was thinking about the different types of gambling. For instance, slot machines, poker, blackjack, roulette/craps, and possibly events such as dog racing, horse racing, and jai alai. Then I thought how these are all a little different. A slot machine basically has a computer that generates random numbers and creates visual displays for winning combinations (pulling a lever or pressing a button does nothing at all). In poker you are testing your skill against other people. In blackjack you only have one opponent; the dealer which represents the casino. In roulette and craps you rely on a device (i.e. a ball or die) and it's a matter of probablility. With animal racing or jai alai you are placing wagers on others while spectating. Even though Universal doesn't have to have an overall connection for the houses and scare zones to the theme/icon, I thought it was interesting that you can utilize various forms of conflict.
