  1. Grrrr... I clawed my way to the top of the Leaderboard at one point last night, and got the achievement. I logged back in a little while ago and my achievement is gone. I thought it was because I lost my position, but it looks like everyone else who got it got to keep theirs. What gives? I didn't do anything unfair, just played the games like everyone else. Not cool >:/

  2. Last year, Saturday, Oct. 8. It rained the entire night, which meant no scarezones. I love the streets more than anything at HHN, so yeah... that sucked.

There was one plus to the crappy weather: the crowds got sick of the rain around midnight and started leaving the park in droves. At least four houses became walk-ons... so the last two hours before closing weren't so bad :)

  3. That'll be on Columbus Day weekend, which I've attended for the last two years and will be doing so again this year. I can vouch that Friday will be very busy, but it shouldn't be unbearable. If you utilize Stay and Scream (requires daytime park admission) or get in line well before the gates open (no later than 5:00), you shouldn't need an Express pass.

  4. I started to write a mini wall o' text about this, 'cause I love icons, but I'll cut it down into two main reasons:

    1. They're creative and original. There is no other haunt in the world where you can meet Jack the Clown, The Director, etc. You can only see them by going to Halloween Horror Nights. And I am often surprised by just how creative they can get with these characters. Back in 2009, when rumors were flying around that they'd be using a theater usher as the icon, I thought "that's dumb, no WAY they'll do that" and well... :P Same deal with Lady Luck- I know she was created by Marketing, but who would've thought to make a character like that? Not many.

    2. I'm one of those fans who becomes very immersed in the storyline for the event. Having an icon helps with that immersion. When I'm there, I feel like I'm in another world, even if that world is just "scary character comes along and takes over a theme park". And learning about the icon before I get there makes me excited to meet them at the event. I still remember my first time walking into Fear Revealed... my heart was racing, and the closer I got to Fear, the faster it went.

  5. Speaking as someone who loves scarezones, I was apprehensive about this last night... but after the site update, I am really excited. It's different, and it could be a lot of fun. And hey, we even got some story to go with it. I hope we find out more about The Iniquitus and the Legions over the coming weeks.

Is anyone else reminded of sports teams with the various flags and colors? All of those hints the insiders were dropping about sports make sense now. Of course, this is a game none of us will be winning...

    BTW... I liked Nightmaze too.

  6. Does anyone have a clue when Express Passes will go on sale ?

I checked my notes and I was able to buy the Rush of Fear w/Express on July 28 last year. This was before it went live on the site- I used a direct link to purchase it. If those options are made available again, I think we still have a bit of a wait.

  7. The Feaster Bunny is NOT an original costume by Universal unfortunately :/ We have the same one up here at Halloween Haunt at Kings Island in the Holiday Horror House...

Awww, really? That's disappointing. :( I thought it was something that they created themselves. It was certainly scary enough. Still, I'll be keeping my vote unless Fallow takes it off the list.

  8. I missed him the last few of my walkthroughs but on one of the days this past weekend, his rifle was definitely not as loud as it once was.

It was toned down at some point during the weekend I went (6th through 9th), though I don't remember exactly when. I was glad they did it because the loud one got a little too close to my ear and that did NOT feel good :(

(the guy behind me got it even worse... when we left the house he was still swearing about it!)

  9. EDIT: Changed my House vote to Zombie Lincoln since Feaster Bunny got nixed.

Streets... this one was VERY hard. I wanted to vote for so many things! I ended up going with the Bats from Grown Evil. I loved the detail in their masks and costumes, they were beautiful, especially the ones on stilts. The mask was cute too :)

Honorable mentions: Spade Gang (creepy masks), Acid Assault Melted Faces (disturbing), Gluttonies/Lusts/Vanities from 7, Dark Soul Wraiths from Canyon

  10. Nothing but love for this scarezone. The Sins were really into their roles, and some of them would attempt to distract you so their minions could move in for scares. Great interaction between the Sins and minions too. As for the minions, my goodness... so much energy! How do they keep it up, night after night? I swear they were going after anyone within reach! I came through here at least three times a night, and every time, I had at least one scareactor go after me... usually more than one! Three of those times, I had at least one of every minion scare me. It was crazy, but I loved it! Man, I was SO bummed when it rained all night on Saturday (the 8th) and I couldn't play in here. Scareactors, I'm sorry if I came through too much on Sunday... but I *loved* your street, and I was worried to death that it would rain again and I wouldn't get to see you before my run was over. :( Keep up the great work, and I hope you take Street of the Year.
