  1. I know some people really hated that zone last year, but they really had some of the VIP actors, and they seemed to be having a blast.
  2. So surprised they haven't done something like this yet.
  3. I think it's just the next "milestone" in the hopes that something might happen. Realistically, it's probably something to do while there's no news
  4. The "soul counter" has reached 20,000! It didn't actually do anything.
  5. Except that the year is a bit off. It was made in 2007, and was released on home video October 2009...
  6. Sometimes people complain FOR the voodoo priestesses, and they discontinue her mini-show.
  7. Besides The Walking Dead again? Five Nights at Freddie's. I DO NOT understand the appeal of that franchise.
  8. That movie looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Groundhog's day slasher flick? Yes, please! It's also coming out on Friday, October 13th. I wouldn't doubt it if they at least did some sort of special appearance that night. That baby mask guy is pretty chilling.
  9. That's a pretty good idea. Maybe watch the first episode or two of season 1 to understand who the characters are. But, some of the gags might actually get ruined for you if they focus on the comedy aspects.
  10. Not to derail too much, but Disney Springs has a poutine stand, and they have a breakfast one with an egg, tater tots instead of fries, and sausage gravy instead of the standard brown. It's phenomenal.
  11. That makes me feel better. If I missed out the chance to mix fries, gravy, cheese curds, and horror together? I would never forgive myself.
  12. Interesting. My button actually has four bone fragments on the top and bottom
  13. Tone is everything man! The Evil Dead house this year will probably end up being much more of a campy comedy house than the one from HHN23. That film had a much more serious tone. It got a little campy at the end, but nothing compared to Raimi's films. Think about the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels vs. the remake from a few years ago. Those sequels feel nothing like the remake. Sure, they still have a disfigured guy with a knife glove, but they are completely different movies. Sure, all steaks come from a cow, but it all depends on how you cook them.
  14. The tone is almost a complete 180 from the original two though. That's why it's completely different.
  15. IDK what you're referring to, and wouldn't be able to discuss it if I did. Theoretically though, maybe the survey would include several interesting properties that I wouldn't think would even be under consideration for HHN. Also, I think there might have been one on the first big list that wasn't in any of the other lists...uh...theoretically of course
  16. Actually, there's a new generational term that's popping up. Xennials are the crossover generation that fall between 1977 and 1983. The real marker is technology. That group (which I'm included in) grew up in an analogue world, but the technology boom started to mature as they did.
  17. This is my feeling. I think the "Gothicombs" moniker is just something we should be using as a placeholder name. I believe the end result will be similar to Tomb of the Ancients from last year. Where the overall thought process and design was inspired by an older house, but the final theme is it's own brand new thing.
  18. Yup. Got a "we have your soul" e-mail about an hour ago. Maybe they'll start the festivities tomorrow.
  19. One thing I keep forgetting to bring up. I follow one of the main HHN fabricators on Instagram, and they posted a wall full of skulls and bones that looked exactly like the background of the HHN website last week. He's claiming that it's not for HHN, just practicing in his studio. It seems a bit too similar to be a coincidence. So....what if the original Gothicomes was intended to be the icon house, but has since been changed to the Field of Screams house? Maybe they were left with some props/scenery that will no longer be used, so they can post pictures of it?
  20. I am no expert by far, but I took some legal classes in collage. It really all depends on the actual contract signed but, typically when rights are signed over to a media company (for movie, TV, etc), that company reserves the rights to any further merchandising, advertising, etc. That gives them the freedom to treat the property as they see fit, rather than argue back and forth with the creator(s). That's why you see some notoriously difficult to work with creators completely drop support for media projects, but they continue on without their full consent. Think Alan Moore and The Watchmen movie, or V for Vendetta. This would be especially true earlier on in their careers. King obviously has the cache to demand much tougher restrictions now, but when Carrie or The Shining were originally made, he was much younger and not in the position to make such demands.
  21. To clarify the "You've been Summoned" e-mails... I believe these were all sent out to people that had already signed up to receive marketing e-mails from HHN and/or Universal Orl. They were sent out after the website had been updated, that's why there's the appearance of a response to sacrificing your souls for those of us that signed up quickly. For example: My wife received one around 2:30 that day, but she didn't sign up on the website until about 5:30 when she got home from work.
  22. August 3rd to be precise. I'm guessing that's the full reveal, and some/all of the boxes that are currently locked will be the IP announcements.
  23. I'll go on record to say that Blumhouse always seemed a bit off to me. Especially in Orlando. Hope I'm wrong though, that one really has some potential to be great
