  1. I would rather the event be just two parks. Having the same houses and venues for the past seven years just gets stale after a while; it's time to change it up a bit. If they're going to do both parks, I hope they do it like they did with HHN 15 where the event spanned half of Islands, the backlot and half of the Studios.

When I say 2 parks I meant what they did at HHN 15. They wouldn't need to use all of both parks. I made mention of them not using the Potter area and obviously the Amity area wouldn't be open. How much of each park they would have open is obviously up for debate. I just think it's the perfect year for both parks considering it's HHN 22.

  2. so dreams do come true....

I would really love to see a 2 park HHN since I didn't experience the first one, even if Potter was closed,

maybe this new construction is a blessing in disguise lol

if they do it in Studios maybe they would cancel Bill and Ted? could they do that? have they ever done that?

If they do it in Studios it might end up being a Nightmare to go to the event

I honestly believe that next year will be in both parks. Looking at it from a marketing standpoint - HHN 22 Double the terror or something similar to that. They could have an icon for each park (assuming they can get 1 icon right) My idea in terms of icons would be evil twins separated at birth. They are both sick and twisted but in different ways. One could focus on the gore that we all love and the other could be psychological. Picture the studios being done with all kinds of blood and gore, more scenes like the scene in saws n steam where the guy was cutting the persons leg open and things of that nature. Really play up the blood and gore to maximum levels. Then IOA (excluding Potter of course) could be filled with houses like the in between. Just really trippy houses that instead of relying on gore they rely on special effects and mind games. That's just an example of what I wouldn't mind seeing next year. I'm not trying to say that I know what they're gonna do by any means, just what I wouldn't mind seeing.

  3. I just wish that they professionally film the houses each year and maybe release them after the event or like you can buy a DVD of the event once the season is over. I don't know, but I would love that!

That would be awesome. I've always wanted them to do that. Professionally film every house, with scareactors, every scarezone and Bill and Ted. I would pay 20 maybe 25 for that DVD every year. They could just release it the following year. Basically you could get this years DVD starting right before next years event.

  4. Ok no offense but I'm not going to argue with a little kid who seems to think he knows everything. I only work with stuff on a daily basis for a marketing/auction/shipping company here in Pa. I will make a few points and that's it.

Why would an IT person be behind the camera? I don't even know what to say to that.

You questioned my internet connection but honestly that's a joke, I have very reliable and VERY fast internet. The quality wasn't very good compared to other streams I've seen. Including one I'm watching currently on Facebook in HD.

Facebook wasn't big for Uni until this year, your right........................how does that have anything to do with them not being able to do a cheap stream on facebook this year?

My most important point I want to make is what you don't seem to realize I'm trying to say. It's cheaper long term in the real business world to do as many things in house as possible. You keep trying to throw all this knowledge at me and truth is I don't care to hear business dealings from a 14 year old.

All I'm trying to say is they should already have people currently in their employment that know how to do a cheaper stream than what they did last year if indeed they hired an outside company to do it for them. If the company I work for which employs a whole 7 people can figure out how to stream cheap, quality streams for our auctions right in our webpage and facebook, universal could do the same. It cost's us in the ballpark of 700 dollars for us to stream a 2 hour auction. I think Universal has that laying around somewhere.

Once again it all boils down to cost vs reward. Weather they hired an outside company or did it in house. There wasn't enough reward last year for them to do justify doing it this year.

  5. Streaming online via a professional company and not some live show site like uStream does have it's costs. Universal hired a professional company to stream live, the same company that streamed the opening of Harry Potter for Universal. No one from Universal sat on a bench somewhere and just turned on their terrible webcam and started streaming on uStream. They used real cameras and since they didn't have any ads the professional company has to get the money for bandwidth and all from somewhere. Video streaming takes up tons of bandwidth. You can't just use some laptop camera with HHN as you wouldn't be able to make out anything in the dark. Not to mention Universal using uStream isn't too professional looking, even when they tried to integrate it in a Facebook app this year it didn't look great.

You did hit another point though when you mentioned that it didn't convince people. I don't think for the effort and money and all it gave outstanding results, or else we'd see it back.

I was attempting to point out that if they did hire a company it wasn't something they needed to do. With a decent IT person and a decent camera they could have done the same thing for free or next to nothing. An IT person that I would think a company like Universal would have already on staff.

You say they spent a ton of money on last year's stream? For all that money spent they got a terrible quality stream. If you think that stream was good then you need to check out some of the stuff currently out there. A 500 dollar camera could have picked up things better than the camera's used last year.

You mention facebook, the technology is out there for a great HD stream. The UFC streams live HD content on facebook every other week or so. Don't even tell me Universal can't figure out how to do that themselves. If they can't I think they need to hire some better personnel, although I know they already have people that good on staff.

As for you saying they didn't have any ads so money had to come from somewhere, I would argue that the whole thing was one big ad. It was a promotional tool for Halloween Horror Nights, in my book that makes it an ad. It didn't work so I believe that's the real reason it didn't return this year.

  6. Well, I'd assume the company that did it last year charges for their services. This year Universal had a whole new social media PR company that is one of the best there is. I'm sure the money that they paid for the live feed was used for Context Optional this year.

You do realize streaming online cost's very little right? With sites like uStream even you could do it for free with a computer and webcam. It's not like last years was amazing quality. I'm sure they have someone on staff that can figure out cheap streaming options. I'm guessing the real reason is for one it gave away a scare and it may have to do with web traffic for the stream last year. If they didn't convince people on the fence to spend their hard earned cash on a ticket then it didn't do it's job and was pointless to do again this year. I would like to see a constant stream in a scarezone like 7 all night every night. Of course how many regular people are going to sit at their computer and watch HHN? I'm guessing it was just the hardcore fans watching and we're going to go to the event no matter what.

  7. I'd say for me my favorite scene was in saws and steam. The bit where the victim was face down and having their leg carved off. It was quite realistic I thought and looked good every time I went through it.

It looked so real, we really did enjoy that scene every time through. I think my favorite scene was either the opening scene with H.R. Bloodengutz because of the interaction or The one Jason just mentioned in Saws N Steam.

  8. Hopefully someone who knows can answer this quickly. Does anyone know if you can take the binky cups back into the park for your second, third night? I want to take mine back in but don't want it confiscated. Please I need to know soon because I leave in an hour and a half.

  9. Technically on Halloween, Mark will usually announce a time and place so we can take a site picture and that also doubles as a mini-meetup within the event. I'm sure that he'll announce it in here or in the announcements forum in the coming days.

I know but we're less than a week away. I was more or less talking about the picture. Hopefully something is announced soon. I want to meet some fellow members. I've seen several of you in the queues but feel odd approaching you if I haven't talked to you before hand. Mark (_mz) I saw you taking video in Acid Assault tonight and wanted to talk to you but didn't feel right about bugging you while you we're shooting video. I'm on that for sure wearing a blue shirt and an orange glow necklace. Can't wait to see the footage.

  10. Ok so I've been to HHN 3 nights this year. First I must compliment most of the ops personnel. You are doing a good job but...... You knew there was a bit coming didn't you. I had a small problem tonight with the girl at the beginning of Nevermore. I was literally 2 feet behind the couple in front of us yet was told to keep moving and to close the gap. I'm sorry but what was I supposed to do? Should have I grinded my crotch on the girls ass? I believe in personal space and I refuse to get into a space within 1 foot of the girl in front of me. Even though I wanted to. Believe me I would have loved to rub up on her because she was beautiful but I refuse to invade her personal space like that. Other than that one person I've barely noticed the rest of you ops people. I do wish you could have a mask or something but that's besides the point. Your doing a good job of lurking in the shadows and not making your presence known other than that one person.

  11. Ok I haven't seen the show yet but need to rant a bit about security or whatever the people outside of the queue are. Tonight myself, my wife and Grimp0nd we're headed to the 10 o clock show. We we're there at 9:59. One of the girls doing the queue was waving the group in front of us and us in to the show. The other cut us off. We were right with the other group with nobody behind us and she cut us off. She wouldn't let is us in. Why would she cut us off but not the group in front of us? There was nobody within 50 feet behind us. We were literally right behind the group in front. I think it was rediculous, very uncalled for. The girl at the end of the queue was like "sorry I tried to get you in". My problem was not with her but the other girl. What was the problem, didn't she like my flyers/phillies hybrid shirt? Was it Jason's (grimp0nd) accent? Why we're we cut off but the group literally right in front of us weren't?

  12. Back from my 3rd night and I have to thank the person who's playing H.R. Bloodengutz. I've seen both casts and your such a cool actor. Every time I've been through has been a fun experience. Tonight I talked to you about the button on your throne. My first night we talked about my favorite holiday and the second night we talked about the food to the right of me. I love the interaction. 3 more nights for me. Hopefully 3 more conversations with mr bloodengutz.

  13. Hey MarchOfProgress I think we agree on most of the alcohol stuff. I was just saying the security guard could have been worse. I agree with you when you say if 1 person out of 1000 puking in a bush keeps HHN alive then make it 2 out of 1000 and add more scares. Alcohol is already grossly overpriced at the event so there isn't much more they could do to stop people from getting hammered. It brings in money and they'd be fools to ban it. I think the main problem is people showing up already drunk and then drinking a few more drinks at the event. Oh and get a straight shot and it's not near as watered down as the mixed drinks.

Are you saying 50 wrote bub then actually said buh? Because I clearly hear bub. You can call a cat a kit but it's still a cat. It's not a big deal either way. I have more important things to do that argue over a gangster rap lyric. If you call beer buh then that's all you. I call beer buurr most of the time anyway.

  14. No. Disagree. Cop's logic was that I wasn't allowed my buh and he can demand I throw it out because Uni is a private property. Therefore, no arrest for public drinking. Not in public. Also the cop didn't have to be such a hardass about it ... He could've just said "fine finish it make it quick" and I'd be trashing an empty bottle before the sentence was over. I'm not the guy he needs to be after.

And also, if you want to know why I call it "buh" you can blame 50 cent: "You can find me in the cluh / bottle fulla buh" ..

Be happy the cop could have taken you to jail instead of just making you pour out your buh.

Oh and by the way it's You can find me in da club, bottle full of BUB. As in bubbly or as most humans call it champagne. So you can call it beer again if you want.

I saw 2 people throw up at EPCOT last year when I was there. It was a warm day but they we're both hammered. As Hush said some people can handle their alcohol and some can't. If someone gets drunk at HHN most likely their going to do the same at a football game or rock concert. All public events that serve alcohol have problems with people who can't handle their drinks, not just HHN. So to those who think there's a problem with alcohol at HHN, should we just ban alcohol outright? Ban it at all public events? What should be done about it because it's not just a problem for HHN. Like I said before get drunk be happy but know your limits.

  15. It's up to the drinkers to act like adults and know their limits. They could line the park with one gigantic bar and I could care less. It's up to you and me as adults to know our limits. I always drink when I'm at a haunt (HHN or local) yet I know when enough is enough. I think there's more of a problem with pre gaming at one's home or hotel or even in the car, in the parking garage. I say that because it's not like they have drink specials where you can get a 2 dollar shot or 2 dollar draft. Let's face it, to get drunk at HHN cost's a lot of money. If someone is dumb enough to spend 80 bucks on some beer then they deserve to be throwing up in the bushes. Bartenders shouldn't serve visibly drunk patrons though. To combat the drunk driving stop serving alcohol an hour or two before park close. Then at least they sweat some of it out, maybe eat some food and drink some cola or something. There's no need to punish the rest of us responsible drinkers because a few people don't know their limits. I vote alcohol stays and even increases. Get drunk be happy. Just know your limits, problem solved.

  16. Regarding the subject of Hell Week, my understanding has always been that any week surpassing the usual 4 nights, Thursday through Sunday, is considered a Hell Week. It usually involves the park hours being extended as well. Most years, we end up with two Hell Weeks. This year Hell Week #1 is 5 days and Hell Week #2 is 6 days. : (

Great looks like the 2 weeks I'll be there are both hell week(s). Good thing for express, 7 nights to attend and not going on Friday and Saturday nights.
