  1. I'm hoping that there only being one casting day does not = even less scareactors. The scareactors last year did a great job for the most part, but you could tell that less people were hired.

    I could have sworn that they we're having reunion auditions on July 10th and regular auditions on July 17th. That's 2 days. Maybe they expect to hire a bunch of people from the reunion auditions. I wouldn't worry much about it yet.

  2. In my opinion, i don't think that the event having 7 houses this year has nothing to do with Comcast dogging the event, but due to all the construction going on. Secondly, HHN Hollywood has had houses in the past that were originated here in Orlando (the thing asimilation). And last i checked Alice Cooper Welcome to my Nightmare was a big hit in Hollywood so it seems logical to bring it here, and might not be fair to call it a "rehash". Just my two cents.

    Fair enough and I agree with you on most of your points. While I agree that Alice Cooper was a big hit in Hollywood, I don't believe that house as a whole should come to Orlando. I don't want to see the same house that was in Hollywood. I've seen video of it and I wasn't impressed. I wouldn't mind a similar house but I don't want to see a room by room recreation.

    One thing you may not know is Hollywood has never had much of an impact on Orlando but Orlando has had impact on Hollywood. Not saying the other way around isn't a good idea. Some people here have a problem with change. It's the unknown and we like to know what we're getting. For all I know it could end up being the best year ever because of an idea from Hollywood.

    One other small thing: I think it's funny how everyone seems to be panicking about the houses considering the tag line on the site right now is It's Never Too Soon To Start Panicking. The house list sure does have everyone panicking. Makes me start to wonder if we're not falling into a trap of some sort......

  3. I mean, if people are here for a night, then it's their decision to buy a one night ticket. Most vacationers aren't in Orlando for a night. And if that's the case, a FFP or Rush of Fear makes more sense.

    My entire group is from out of state and we all buy FFP. We go 4 to 5 nights and it's more than worth it. No need for anyone to buy a 1 night ticket but still tons of people do.

  4. For me, I have the same view of one night HHN tickets as I do one day theme park passes. if you're buying them, you're doing it wrong.

    And if I had to guess, Universal is looking at it the same way. The more nights you're in the park, the more you're eating, drinking, going to CityWalk, etc. So they make the Frequent/Rush passes look better and more reasonable in order to ensure you're coming back multiple times.

    I definitely think the price for a one night ticket is ridiculous, but I get where they're coming from with it.

    A) There was no attacking. Cool your jets.

    B )You seemed awfully "sky is falling" like with your "They don't care about quality and only profit mentality" as well as claiming they'll jump at the first opportunity to dumb it down if they can. I apologize for misreading your tone, but it was awfully bad to me.

    A) I felt it was a bit of an attack, if not my apologies but I still stick to everything I said.

    B ) Read back a bit, read other posts. The one post I've been negative is the one you quoted. It's not even that negative. It's just simple facts about comcast's history coming from someone who witnessed it first hand in their offices in Philadelphia which is their headquarters. In other posts I've expressed my disappointment but urge people to wait until they've seen the event to judge.

  5. Universal Cinematic Spectacular, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Spider-man re-do, Superstar Parade, Soundstage 44 project, the reopening of Cafe Labamba, a huge and expensive expansion for Universal Studios Florida, Spongebob Storepants, not to mention countless other projects that haven't been announced yet on top of them dumping 150 million each of the next 5 years into the parks which is 100 MILLION more than their predecessors.

    Yes, clearly Comcast has no desire to spend money on quality in the parks.

    The parks are run by Steve Burke, who was a high level Disney Parks manager before leaving for Comcast. The man loves the parks, and with the amount we've already seen, we're not getting a cut in quality here.

    Now I admit HHN is a bit on the weird side right now, but it's obvious this year is a bit of a wildcard. I'll wait to see how this year and next year turn out before I claim the sky is falling.

    Well it shows that you just skim through posts. I've been one of the more positive people on here about this year. I'm not one of the sky is falling people. I keep telling people you can't judge the houses by name alone. To wait until they've been to the event and through the houses to pass judgement. In the post you quoted not once did I once mention any of the attractions you've brought up? I was specifically talking about HHN. I made that very clear. In fact I said "When it comes to HHN" so your attack is not warranted. Although it did give me a good laugh because it was easy to see I was specifically talking about HHN.

    Allow me to tell you how I feel about the rest of the parks and their upgrades since you seem to think I'm not happy with them. They have done a great job in making changes to the parks and city walk. I could do less with HP but understand the marketing of it all. Specifically studios speaking the parade, cinematic spectacular and Despicable Me are all great projects. They bring people into the park. It makes me even more excited to come to Orlando in October. Of course that's even more reason they could cut spending on HHN. They are spending tons of money on everything else. HHN is a special ticketed event they could cut costs on for a few years. If they feel they can make cuts and profit more then they will do it.

    I'm not even saying the cuts would be drastic. Less spent on costumes, less spent on props and sz's. Just little things here or there. The details that you can only see with the lights on may not be quite as detailed. There may not be as many props in the sz's or as many scareactors on the streets. I do not by any means feel they will destroy HHN. Just cut costs where they can, especially with all of the other projects going on at this time. Next year may be much better, your guess is as good as mine at this point. What I can say for sure is that there have been plenty of curve balls thrown at them this year so I don't expect the quality of years past. Will that last? I don't know, I'd like to think no.

  6. I've seen many things ruined when new people come on board and it stinks to know that one of my favorite events is in the hand Of a new entity an on top of it one that hasn't done it before, it's easy to say this maybe the most disappointing year lets just hope it's not to disappointing, I mean I so far like the ideas behind the houses besides p&t which everyone is subject to their own opinions but if that's the most disappointing year I'm not to upset, who knows maybe it will be one of the better years and Comcast won't f something up for once...but I doubt it, I'll be there this year but if it is a crap event I'll en up at hos next year plain and simple I they screw it up let em know thy screwed it up

    I hope your right and Comcast won't f it up. I doubt it too but even monkeys playing darts can get a bullseye every once in awhile. I worry about this year but I also worry about it becoming a habit in the future. I hope those worries are for not and everyone complaining is blown away this year. I don't feel that it's too soon to begin worrying about quality this year but I don't feel that we can judge the houses based of names. You can't judge a book by it's cover so we shouldn't jump to conclusions based on titles alone.

  7. It's still a money maker in a huge dead-time for the parks. I'm not worried about it.

    Comcast is known for spending the least amount of money to make the most amount of money. When it comes to HHN they will absolutely downgrade the houses and the event itself if they feel it can help their profit margin. This coming from someone who worked for the company for several years and has been a customer of theirs for 15 years. They are all about making more money. Event quality doesn't matter to them, people coming in the gates do. If people still come for a dumbed down event then they will continue to dumb it down. For someone to think that they won't do the same thing with HHN as they do in the rest of their holdings is just absurd.

  8. And "Joking/Serious" means Penn and Teller. Dr. Jimmy has all but confirmed it. Continuously trying to decipher them is a waste of your time.

    I don't understand why everyone is still trying to decipher the codes. JW spelled it out for everyone a few pages back. I think everyone's speculation focus now should switch to what we will see in the houses that are happening and what the scarezones will be and where they will be. To continue to worry about the "clues" is a waste of time.

  9. I would laugh my butt off if Pen and Teller make this amazing house that becomes everyone's favorite lol :lol: that would really make me laugh, I doubt it of course, but it could happen, and it would be funny, I think the idea sucks, but, what if they have a couple of tricks up their sleeve and make a really good house? a really gory house? seems like their trick jokes involve blood and gore, so maybe we see a funny but sick house

    I'd love it if P&T prove everyone wrong it'd be great. If they prove me wrong I will give them their props for sure.

    I have to agree and disagree with you foREVer56. People can express their dislike for the premise of the houses without going through them. What they can't do is say the house sucks outright without going through it. Not being impressed by the house list and not being impressed by the actual house are 2 totally different things. I for one am not impressed by the idea of the P&T house but will go into it with a totally open mind and as I already said I hope they prove me wrong. The truth is nobody has any clue what the event will be like until after we've been through the houses ourselves.

  10. If the rumors are true and I have no reason not to believe they are true then I'm both disappointed and excited.

    I'm excited for The Walking Dead. As far as I'm concerned it's the best show on TV and I'm all for it.

    I'm all for Alice Cooper. He is an icon in metal and he's always been influenced by horror and horror has been influenced by him so I think that house will be cool.

    Silent Hill, Meh I don't know. I'll give it a chance but I haven't really played the games. From what I know it has the potential to be a cool house. It's something we've speculated about for years and obviously they've listened. In that aspect I'm happy. I feel they are giving us something a lot of you have wanted for a long time and I'm all for giving the fans what they want.

    Gargoyles could be a great house. It's an original idea and I'm all for original. I'm sure the scares will be good in that house. You'll never know what is a prop and what is a scareactor so I really think this house could be good.

    Victorian mansion, I'm torn, it could be great but when I think of a Victorian mansion I think 2 story house, we all know they can't do a 2 story house. I think the facade for this will be amazing. As for the rest I just don't know what to think. It's another original idea so I'm looking forward to it.

    Dead Exposure I hated the original house and honestly don't care to see it back. It does nothing for me.

    That brings me to Penn and Teller. They have nothing to do with horror. Obviously this is the comedy house. It could go either way but I'm leaning towards absolutely hating this idea. They are funny and I love the Bullsh!t show. I just don't see what they bring to a horror themed event/haunted house. Could be good but absolutely does nothing to make me look forward to the event any more.

    As a whole I like the ideas except for the 2 I mentioned. What will make the event for me is the scarezones. I read on another site that we may only have one official zone and I really REALLY hope this isn't the case. I hope that info is false. They can easily move props in each night and have 6 zones. If they only have one it will absolutely ruin the overall feel of the event for me. I love the atmosphere and without it, it's just the studios at night with some haunted houses mixed in.

  11. Just to be very clear Grimp0nd and Sakura will be with me. I have no clue who mr.luck is or why he's saying he will be with us. I feel he's just trolling but if I'm wrong feel free to message one of us to set it up if you really want to meet up with us mr.luck or Matt or Diesel <------ :lol: whatever you want to be called we're always looking to add to our group. That goes for everyone else too, if your serious and want to meet up just shoot one of us a message.

  12. Re: water spouts. I know conventional wisdom says lagoon show, but assuming all 7 of these were houses... the only thing I can connect to "water spout" is the Itsy Bitsy Spider. Maybe giant spiders or some kind of arachnophobia theme? Or, heh heh, maybe a sequel to "Maximum Carnage" to really rustle Disney's jimmies. [Last one was a joke]

    There is a movie coming out called Storage 24. It's a Universal movie that seems to feature a giant spider trying to kill people in a warehouse. It could be something or it could be nothing. At times in the trailer it looks like the "creature" is a spider at other times it doesn't. It is a Universal movie so it may fit. Check out the trailer and tell me what you think.

  13. I'm fairly certain that HMU wouldn't be open, I've been told that the show Actors are under strict rules about the hours of which they can perform.

    This may have changed, since it was about a year and a half ago, but it was from a show manager at Disaster.

    Now, if it was purely an adult show, with specially hired actors, that would be wonderful. I would love something like Chucky's Insult Emporium inside the hmu building.

    I don't think it'd be the normal version of the show. I think it would be a geared more to the adults and they could hire a few people to do it. I don't think it would be a big deal to have it open considering the issues at hand.

  14. Plans deathly did change and are still changing. However I'm liking the direction that It maybe going instead.

    However the tagline might be interesting for this year:

    " Results may vary "

    " Subject to change "

    " Eh... we don't know either"

    I'm reading into your first line. Can I assume that there will still be 7 houses and they are just trying to figure out the logistics of it all? Or something different and outside the box. I'm not asking you to give up all of your info, just a bit more than you did B)

    As for the rest you gave me a much needed laugh today, Thank you.

  15. I've been giving it a ton of thought and really think another tent is the way to go. They are very expensive but I feel it's needed. If the put the 7th house in SS23 then that will create tons of crowding issues in the front of the park. If they put it back near the other tents it would be basically the same as using the parade building in terms of crowd flow. I think that would be the best bet. I just hope it's in the budget to do something drastic like that.

  16. I worry about this causing havoc with HHN. If it's a partial tear down then ok but the timing seems very off. Also why would they tear the electrical out now if it was still going to be the site of a house? It's a ton of work to tear electrical out, make improvements and then build the house for HHN. Here's a copy of the permit http://parkrumors.com/images/ss44.jpg It clearly states Demolition, New Foundations, Building Shell and Interior build out. I have no clue what the interior build out could hint at? This sure does throw a wrench into things either way.

  17. Group Tickets and Express Options are coming.

    It's in the source code.

      <!--<li><a href="#">Group Tickets</a></li>-->

      </ul>

      <!--<h3>Addons</h3>

      <ul>

       <li><a href="addons-express-pass.html">HHN Express Pass</a></li>

      </ul>-->

    Thank you MZ_. I was really kinda worried about that. You've put my mind at ease and I look forward to my FFP with express.

  18. I called it weeks ago and again last night. Now this picture of what looks to be Dale's RV all but proves nobody was looking too much into the background of the generic site. Weather it's a coincidence or not that background coupled with the room names and the RV sitting near the disaster queue all but confirm that disaster is a Walking Dead house. If you haven't watched the show go do it. You won't be disappointed and it may make that house a bit better. You'll at least know what is going on a bit better.

    I too thought that some we're looking too much into the generic site but the more I look at it I'm not so sure it's as generic as years past. There has to be a reason for some of the letters being different. No point in doing it unless there is a reason. The background of the generic site mixed with everything we know about a Walking Dead house being a possibility seem to point to the background being done on purpose. The ROT that you pointed out Jeramy, that leads me to believe even more that this is the case. Maybe I am seeing what I want to since I'm a huge fan of TWD but there are way too many coincidences to just push them aside as nonsense.

  19. I see what everyone is talking about when it comes to the background on the teaser site and the similarities to the walking dead photo. With the code names for disaster queue I honestly feel it's a walking dead house. The walking dead season 1 had memorable scenes in a hospital hallway (When Rick was waking up and discovering the disaster) and on a rooftop (It's where they left Merle handcuffed). If that's the case it seems like we may get a house reviewing what we've seen on the show so far. Hopefully if that's the case it takes us into the prison too.

    My thoughts on the parade affecting the scare zones. I honestly believe they will be bringing the larger props in every night for one or two of them. All indications are that the parade is a hit. I don't see them stopping it, I see them changing the time, I don't know how much they can change the route if at all. Maybe someone with more knowledge on this subject could pitch in their thoughts on that. Knowing that they have brought props in for scare zones each night leads me to think that is the route they will go.

    Last but not least my thoughts on the generic site. I'm thinking the last 2 letters in too are actually numbers. Either a countdown as Grimp0nd mentioned or hinting towards a theme of 100 years of horror. I can't believe that they would not at least have some mention of it. Of course I know it's technically the 99th year but everything is 100 years of Universal this year. I think that theme will roll right into HHN. I expect a house dedicated to the 100 years. Maybe a room for each decade or something (I'm not sure exactly how many scenes go into each house). That would be a great way to bring H.R. Bloodengutz back into the fold this year again.

  20. Hey Jeffrey,

    I appreciate your enthusiasm, and you're correct that Hollywood tends to utilize movie-based IPs more often than Orlando does. That said, there have only been three events since 2000 that didn't feature a direct movie-themed house of some sort: 2002, 2005 and 2010. My point is, Orlando has not been immune from the movie IPs and that's not likely to change in the future.

    It's the end of January and nobody outside of A&D knows anything for certain. It's not unreasonable for people to speculate on another movie theme for this year's event, so let's ease off on the attitude.

    That was a great reply to that. I wouldn't have been so nice, so I must commend you. I wanted to respond to him, then I read your post and realized you took care of that comment in the best possible manner. Thank you.

    Wow wait this isn't even a speculation page. It's WISHFUL THINKING. I have to post, sorry. We can wish for anything, doesn't mean it will happen but we can still discuss what we'd like to see. I want to see some kind of combination of 2 parks and 2 icons. Ol' Gimp0nd over there might want 1 park and 1 icon but 10 houses. We know 2 parks, 2 icons and/or 10 houses is very unlikely this year but we can still have fun discussing our ideas. No matter how dumb the ideas that we come up with may be to you. You may have your opinion and I have mine. Everyone on this forum wants to see something different next year. I personally like reading everyone's ideas and thoughts so keep them coming. No need to bash someone's idea or conversation this early in the game. Relax, have fun, smoke a jeffrey and rub a furry wall.

  21. Hey Aaron you're opinion is as important as anyone elses as is J.W.'s. Just let me clarify a couple of things. When I say classic monsters I'm not just referring to Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman although they are quite probably the most famous. I'm talking of the entire legacy Universal was built on like Phantom of the Opera, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Mummy etc etc. That's seven rooms of a house right there. I'm talking about celebrating the work of such people as Lon Chaney, Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi (shame on you Aaron for thinking I didn't know about the lesser talked about classics, the first round of drinks this year is on you for that comment lol) and not just concentrating on the big three (although you have to include them).

    I might be way off base with this idea but I can't help but feel that the 100 year celebration will touch Horror Nights in some way. As long as I have a good time with my great friends I don't really mind what they do lol.

    Jason, I don't consider you a member of the general public. I think we're on the same page with the characters we want to see. I'll buy first round, you know I have no problem with that. Although according to the good Dr's post we may have to wait a year to see it. Unless they just have one big celebration for the 100th year and side step the fact that it's Universal horror's 99th year.

  22. I wouldn't be too down on the classic monsters. I wasn't too excited about them when they announced the Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolfman houses a few years back but they turned out to be some of my favourite houses and overall I think they were pretty well received by the fans. Now I'm not saying they will or should give each classic monster their own house as that would be too much. But one house with scenes from many of the different iconic creatures would be pretty good I think. They got plenty to choose from. Add in the scenes being introduced by H R Bloodbgutz with his wit, charm and insanity and I think you are on to an absolute winner. It kills two birds with one stone, first it adds to the celebration of 100 years of Universal and second it pleases a lot of fans with the return of Bloodngutz. Maybe this time he's transmitting from a hidden location on cable access lol. Wonder who he's torturing this time lol?

    I like this idea. Especially the Bloodengutz introductions but I'm sorry I have to agree with JW I think it's too early to go back to Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolfman. Now if they did something minus those 3 characters I'd be all for it. Maybe they could somehow combine those three and do some sort of all black and white room for all of them and really play up the original versions of these characters. That's just my thought on how it could be done. Although being the 100th year it would be a travesty not to have some mention of the classic's. I'd love to see some of the lesser known Universal monsters. Someone/thing like The Creature or The Metaluna Mutant. I know I'm going very far back and I also know that the GP doesn't know who these characters are. To me that's the perfect opportunity to introduce some younger people to some older characters. Just my 2 cents, not that anyone cares.
