  1. She never really struck me as the fun-in-the-sun type, personally...

Ha Ha your right maybe my choice of words sucked there. How about place in the moonlight. You know what I meant though I hope she is focused on. If she isn't the icon I hope she is featured prominently in the park. I wouldn't mind seeing Eddie either.

  2. The janitor COULD be a victim. Hell, as long as we're running with this, the whole staff could be victims.

And you know....I was thinking about it......our clue was "every school has one", right? Well....every school has children.

Maybe we'll have a child icon......(Cindy? Or maybe something even MORE sinister....:P)

I hope Cindy finally gets her day in the sun.

  3. so i was doing some speculatin' on jaws because i have nothing better to do with my time. i did some googling about swingsets and fires etc in horror movies and found some more relations to michael myers (someone earlier said nightmare man may be a reference to him). a huge stretch i know, but figured i'd put it out there.

"As a child, Michael inexplicably murdered his older sister, Judith Myers, on Halloween night. Locked away for his crime, he escaped fifteen years later and embarked on a legendary killing spree in his hometown of Haddonfield. He intended to relive Judith's murder by killing his remaining sister, Laurie Strode, but was stopped by his childhood doctor, Sam Loomis. Believed to have died in a fire, Michael Myers lived on and committed various crimes in the state of Illinois before catching up with Laurie twenty years later. His current wherabouts remain unknown. "

"Knowing that Loomis was tracking his movements, on Halloween, 1989, Michael played a game with his former doctor. He left a clue on Loomis' map pointing to Haddonfield Elementary School. When Loomis showed up at the school with Marion to investigate, he found a wounded dog with a drawing of himself stapled to it. Loomis recognised Michael's attempt to humiliate him; that he was "like a dog, a stupid obedient fool" for answering Michael's call. At the same time, Michael murdered a teacher inside the school. The woman, who had just advised her students to chase their fears away with a smile, was found strung up on a swing set, her face contorted into a twisted smile with barbed wire.[10] In 1991, Michael stalked a young beauty queen who was named "Ms. Haddonfield 1991". Mere moments after she was elected, he attacked her in her dressing room and decapitated her with a knife. Her corpse was found "staring" at itself in her dressing room mirror.[11]"

i honestly doubt the house relates to myers in any way but i thought it was interesting.

and some random stuff i found...

"Valedictorian is an academic title conferred upon the highest ranked student among those graduating from an educational institution. The term is an anglicized derivation of the Latin vale dicere ("to say farewell")"

    &

    "valedictorian [ˌvælɪdɪkˈtɔːrɪən]

    adj also valedictory

    1. saying goodbye

    2. of or relating to a farewell or an occasion of farewell"

^perhaps maybe one of the final scareactors in the house, instead of being a strictly academic-type role, maybe "valedictorian" refers more to the farewell aspect

    just somethin to chew on~

As much as I wouldn't mind seeing a Michael Myers house I don't think we will see that this year. I am hoping for the previously mentioned Cindy house in the jaws area.

  4. No the monkeys flew across Plaza of the Stars between Jimmy Neutron and Shrek.

Shrek Alley is the area around the corner from there, the little alley way that runs towards Mel's. In 2008 when Path of the Wicked was in Plaza of the Stars, Shrek Alley was inhabited by American Gothic.

I stand corrected my bad good thing I put that almost in there.

  5. Sirens have been written as both bird creatures and sea creatures. I wonder what form the sirens in Shrek Alley will take.

I am almost positive that is where they had the flying monkeys a few years ago so I am guessing bird creatures.

I highly doubt they'd discontinue using the Plaza of the Stars - that's the main thoroughfare most guests take upon arriving to the event. It sounds like San Francisco will actually be an addition to the usual assortment of zones, bringing the total up to 7 - which would be awesome, IMO. The dead space between Mummy all the way to the end of Central Park has always felt weak.

Maybe universal is listening to those surveys because i always try to let them know that the area there is dead and they should do something there.

  6. I have so many comments on so many suggestions, but they were old posts so I didn't want to quote them all. One question, why Tom Cruise again? What did he do this time? Also, I doubt they'd do Kate Goslin since last year on the opening video they said if you were looking for John and Kate Plus eight "then you should leave, because that crap will not be featured here. We show crap that has a little more balls!" I also don't want to see Miley Cyrus or Lyndsay Lohan in Bill and Ted again.

I agree about Miley and Lindsay but I honestly think Lindsay will be in it. I hope I am wrong though.

  7. the most effective smell use i believe was the fecal matter smell pumped in for the original psychoscarepy house

I can only speak of my experience and that was the nastiest smell I have ever smelt in a house. You knew what it was immediately and I don't think there was a single person that went through that house that didn't make a remark about how bad it smelled.

  8. About the fire, I wonder if some rooms will smell like burnt wood, one thing about HHN houses is the use of smell, It would be really cool and scary if a room smelled like burning, and then a burned scareactor came out and scared you...

I hope so that is one of my favorite things about HHN. The smells tend to really place you into the environment at least they do for me.

  9. looks like they might be going to use a lot of the minor caracters from past years as background, did any go last year after the added the extra scare zone toward the end, did it possibly show any hints for this year?

I was there and saw Jack of course, The Caretaker, and a very vocal Cindy who when I pointed the Caretaker out to my wife said to her "and he's my daddy" the rest was a blur to me.

  10. I'm really sorry if I'm just repeating the obvious (you guys know I'm hesitant at projecting my own speculation for anything...y'all have better guesses, after all!) but I really do love how a lot of minor characters were highlighted in the new update. I had absolutely no high hopes for this one, I just assumed it would contain the usual Icons with the Terra Queen and Darkness and Eddie, Cindy, etc. But to see characters like The Projectionist (almost forgot about him!) and Incubus (not very familiar about him at all, actually) was surprising.

Do you guys think the specific inclusions of some of these minor characters mean anything? And to address the other side of the spectrum, do the exclusions of others mean anything as well?

On the other hand, I wish they added the backstories to some of the characters along with their pictures. Just for the sake of new fans, I guess.

Maybe, I would like to think so especially with Eddie and Cindy. I would like to see them finally get their day. As for Incubus and The Projectionist I don't know much about them but Incubus looks cool. The projectionist reminds me of the director. I know someone is gonna flame me for that but whatever I don't have every second of the day to learn about every minor character in HHN history. I am gonna see what I can find on him though because I doubt they would put him on the site for nothing. I'm beginning to think this year may focus on the minor characters and the main icon's will just be there to help tell the story.

  11. I have to agree with you there. After living 2 years in New Orleans, Orlando just doesn't have that same edge of danger. My experience with crime in Orlando had nothing to do with a bad area...the kids were from an aflluent suburb with upper middle-class parents. They were at HHN, too. It's my thoughts that the people in the 'bad' area around Universal (which I personally haven't seen as it seems that the entire stretch of land is toursty or overdeveloped subdivisions) are probably not going to the event. There's better pickings on I-Drive.

    Mae

I am glad you got what I was trying to say. The people in area's like that are not going to drop the 75 dollars to get into HHN. The metal detectors are great just in case they would though. I really think you have to worry about the rich kids that think they can do anything and get away because mommy and daddy can afford a good lawyer just as much as you would the gangsters. Either way the metal detectors are needed just in case. It also deters people from bringing things they shouldn't to the event. If you know you have to go through 2 security check points then it should persuade you not to bring weapons or whatever.

  12. Now I definitely agree with that. The way it looks scanned or something does look really really strange. I just don't want to blow it off as being fake just because I could draw it myself or something.

Your totally right it does look scanned and doesn't look like a picture someone took. Could it be something someone at universal leaked on purpose to get us talking? The source was listed as anonymous.

  13. I agree, I've been to Philadelphia.... But let me take you to Four Corners sometime.... it's pretty much gang warfare down there.

I never said it wasn't bad. I said a few times there are bad area's everywhere. Gangs are everywhere but I am always out late when I am down in Orlando and have never feared for my safety. I can't say the same about Philly and our neighboring gem known as Camden New Jersey. Both cities are dangerous no matter where you are at night. Orlando is not the same. I know about the parramore and crime hills areas and they are no joke but if someone actually thinks Orlando is a bad area overall they are sadly mistaken. It is sad we are even talking about crime though when it comes to a great event like HHN. I wish everyone could just get along but I guess I'm just a white guy from the suburbs and don't get the gangsta life.

  14. I think it's the target audience combined with the fact that Universal Orlando is in the low-rent, high crime part of Orlando.

I think you all need to go walk around Philadelphia at night and then see what low-rent high crime really is like. I am not saying that Orlando don't have bad area's, every where has them but come on universal being in a bad area is a joke to people from real bad area's. I do know there are bad area's everywhere but in Philadelphia you can't walk 10 feet without stepping over a bum or getting offered drugs and that's about a block from city hall in what is considered a good part of town. Metal detectors are needed everywhere though because bad people are everywhere and all it takes is 1 bad person to ruin everything for everyone just look at the fish hook situation.........oh wait the detectors didn't catch them. Security is a good thing I don't care where you are. If you are complaining about metal detectors and security maybe it is you we should worry about.

  15. That drawing to me looks fake but I would like to see Dr. Agana involved somehow so i will hold onto hope that it is real. I like the idea that Cindy drew it but I doubt it. It is insane that we don't have more to go on for this years event. I just wish we knew more and could speculate on more than the same stuff that has been going around for a week or so.

  16. some one was cast as undertaker in the parade building...could this be a codename for the caretake

That is rather obvious and I didn't even think about it. It could be a codename for the caretaker but your guess is as good as mine. I really do think most of these cast names are code names.

  17. I always drink at HHN. Not to get drunk but to get buzzed. It enhances the event because I am not as zoned into my surroundings. When it comes to alcohol moderation is the key as with anything in life. The people who get totally hammered are annoying. Last year I watched some guy puke his guts out near a trashcan. Not in the trashcan but about 5 feet from one. That was not cool but I just laughed because the booze are not cheap there so he was just puking up money as far as I was concerned. Then in 2008 outside of finnegan's my wife was smoking a cigarette while I was inside watching the Phillies win the world series some girl was straight up passed out beside her as the girls friends told my wife it's ok she is just drunk. Getting that drunk anywhere is dumb. It is up to the individual person and their friends to notice when they have had too much. I also think the bartenders could cut people off more. If you don't know when enough is enough and get so drunk you create a problem you should be escorted out to the taxi pickup area no question.

  18. UPDATE: Undertaker - Parade Building

So zombies and undertakers... sounds good to me!

I wonder if that could mean we get the wwe undertaker house from Hollywood? ha ha just kidding it does sound like the house has some potential though. It has everything my wife is afraid of that makes it funner for me.
