  1. I am going that weekend too, and since it said "first 10 nights of the event", wouldn't it apply to us? It'd be the perfect ticket option for me. I'd like a version with Express though.

Your right it would apply to you. I wouldn't be surprised if they do an Express option on that pass. If your going multiple nights to me that pass if they do indeed have it would be the perfect option for you.

  2. When it comes to Halloween Horror Nights everyone sets there expectations high because of the shear magnitude of the event. Trust me if Uni wants to pull off an extreme house, They will. But one thing to always remember no matter what the outcome of a house or the entire event for that matter we should all be happy and privileged that HHN even exists...:)

Your so right when you say we should be happy the event even exists. It really is the class of all of the Halloween events I have ever been to and that is over 20 different venues. It is why year after year I fly to Orlando for this one event rather than going to a new one every year. I know when I buy my tickets to HHN and book my flight/hotel that I am in for one of the best in the world hands down. I wouldn't even know what to do in October if it wasn't for HHN.

  3. Universal has always come through in the past. Me personally I have yet to be let down since first attending HHN back in 1998. So if the Extreme House does happen I think it will be incredible no matter what...!

I hope your right. I haven't been let down except for small things here and there. I would just personally have very high expectations for an extreme house and feel I might be let down because of those expectations. I'm sure it would be very well done though.

  4. This is what kinda scares me, that the house will be nothing special, that they will Totally Hype it up, like they did with Fear and that it will end up being disappointing,

    Or

I am afraid that the house will be Really good, but then they take away from the rest of the houses, I am kinda afraid that if they do an extreme house, that they will spend more money there than the rest of the park, so we get an amazing extreme house, and the rest of the houses crappy ones

I would hope that they would have a separate budget for the extreme house since we will be paying a separate entry fee to get into that house. That's why I worry about the whole extreme house idea. I think we all would expect so much from it that it may be a let down.

  5. It doesn't hurt to speculate Dr. Jimmy. I don't expect much of what is said now to actually make it to the final event but it is fun to toss around a few ideas with other fans. I think personally it's my way of feeling connected to HHN year round. If we aren't speculating then what is the point of being a die hard fan really? Without speculation this forum might as well be a dead zone from November to August. I enjoy talking about everything weather it happens or not. It is nice to stay connected to other fans year round and speculation is one way to do it.

  6. I agree with Mae it does seem like they will do anything now to separate us all from our hard earned money. We here in Pa have an extreme style house down in Philadelphia and it is 18+ you sign a waiver and they can touch you or whatever. I haven't been to it yet since I put my "fun" money into coming to Orlando in October but have heard from several friends that it is very intense. I am all for it if it is done right. I just hope it isn't just another house they make us pay extra for and call it an extreme house.

  7. Of course we see something from 2003 and remember it but the gp has such a short attention span that I doubt they would remember that there was supposed to be one back then. Maybe I am just not giving them enough credit though. Either way if they do it I hope they do it right and that it don't cost an arm and a leg to get into it.

  8. TJ said as much last year at Hauntcon... 8 houses 6 sz... He repeated it over and over...

But I wouldn't say "never" to anything. Business models/needs change all the time. A long house/extreme house could easily be put in any one of the soundstages anywhere between Uni and IOA. They've done it in the past... (granted you can't use the Nick building anymore). I think it all will boil down to supply and demand... If there is a big enough demand for it (and BG keeps gaining due to it) it will happen. I doubt it will be this year but.. who knows?

I know that is what was said but I would still like to see another scarezone to take up some space in the dead zone's. Either another one or expand them all. If uni does an extreme house this year wouldn't the general public look at it as a rip off of HOS? I wouldn't and I'm sure everyone on this forum wouldn't but it could be the perception of the gp.

  9. Last year I bought a FFP+ and only went 3 nights but feel I got my money's worth. The year before I went 2 nights and got an express pass for one night and that ended up costing me more than it did this year to have the express every night and get to go an extra night. There were several houses that did feel empty to me last year every time I went through them. If they do an alone house I better be getting the crap scared out of me in every room multiple times in order for me to feel good about that purchase. I would also want a lot of interaction with the scare actors. If they do a really long house and there are scare actors in every room or at least a cool effect in every room I will be very happy and not having to pay an extra 25 or so dollars will make me even happier. It is a 1,000 dollar trip for me every year when I factor in the flight, hotel, taxi or rental car, tickets to HHN and food/drink. That is with staying in the econo lodge on I drive which isn't exactly a nice hotel. I am not made of money but I make sure I sit aside the money to come down every year. I would rather not have to pay an extra fee to go through an alone style house. Having said that I would pay the extra in a heartbeat. As far as an arrival show I would love to see one and that would only add to the experience.

  10. I really REALLY hope that you are right about the super long house, and not right about the Alone type house

I am leaning that way too. I just don't really like the idea of having to pay more to go through 1 house. Don't get me wrong I would do it for sure I just think my expectations would be so hight that no matter what happened I would feel let down.

  11. Of course, I was just saying there would probably be a mass complaint by the people that would miss the time they were scheduled. But I wouldn't miss the time I was given, I would actually be there 15-20 minutes early.

I agree with you 100% on this. People would complain when they were the ones to miss the time they scheduled for sure. That's what small print on the back of the ticket is for ;) I would also be there early but were not the majority of course. I'm sure they would get people that would argue that they were in a line that was marked 15 minutes but took 45. Sad part is some of them might have a legit gripe if they used that excuse. That's why if offered I will always go with the FFP with express. Then I know I can do everything and get to the Alone house on time. I hope the obvious concerns about this type of house won't scare universal away from doing it. It is something I really want to experience.

  12. There is no way universal would put out the extra money to get any of the bands mentioned. In Hollywood they had a Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper concert that was a separately ticketed event. I could see them doing something like that at the Hard Rock. Maybe having an event with a band that appeals to the Horror Night crowd like in Hollywood. I don't think they would ever have a mainstream act appear at HHN though.

  13. I don't know much about the technical aspects of reprogramming a ride but couldn't they do a new movie and soundtrack to the existing movements of the ride? I know that would cost a good bit of money but may be worth it to run it for the length of HHN. I think it may bring in more people to the park to see the special month only version of the ride every year. I'm not sure if it would be worth it but I would like to see it happen.

  14. I know what you are saying, that sounds like a reasonable idea. I think if they do an "alone" house they should have a time slot for you to show up like you said, the only bad thing about that is most people would probably miss there time because they will be too drunk to remember, riding some ride, or waiting in line for another house and don't realize it. Idk if anybody else is like this but when I'm at HHN I don't pay attention to the time I just pay attention to what houses I have been to and what house I'm going to next lol :D

If they have a certain time on the ticket and you miss your time then to me that is on you and is your problem. If you know you have to be at the house at a certain time then you should pay attention to what time it is. Especially when your paying extra to do that one house. I think having a certain time to go into the house is the perfect idea to hold down wait times for an alone type house.

  15. Last year was my first year on this board, so I've done all my arguing about alcohol, smoking, gore, etc.

Unless someone says something outrageously stupid, I don't think I'll bother getting involved in the inevitable debates again.

Agreed but for one last time I will say alcohol and smoking is not the problem. The problems are the ignorant people who smoke in line and non smoking areas. The idiots who can't handle their alcohol and the drunk idiots who smoke in line. As for gore the more the better this is supposed to be a scary event and not for children so bring on the buckets of blood, severed limbs and whatever else they can think of.
