  1. I worked GMR for a brief stint at Disney several years ago and going through the Alien scene was always my favorite. I still go every time I'm at DHS.
  2. This sounds pleasant, and like something that I should try at least once if anything just to say I did it. Thanks for the info, I haven't really heard anything about this before.
  3. Yeah I wouldn't say I'm excited about it. Just more interested than our other options. However, The Shining has me hyped past the point of hype and it better not let me down. I don't typically care for houses based on IPs but The Shining is one of my top 5 favorites so I'm curious to see what they do with it and I may spend my entire opening night going through it as many times as possible to catch all of the details. The only IP I think that would surpass hype for The Shining would be an Alien house themed around the first movie, aboard the Nostromo. Hnnnng. ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN
  4. Yeah pretty much. I'd put Saw above Freddy/Jason/Michael though too imo, for being less generic than a slasher. I know, I know, BLASPHEMY! I don't really think the Saw houses are particularly scary either, but I do like seeing the sets and how they do the traps. It's fun.
  5. I'll add a section for tour info when I get some time this afternoon. It probably won't be every single date/time like the normal schedule, but I'll list people doing tours in chronological order towards the end of the post. Thanks for the suggestion
  6. I think Jimmy would be a cool guy to hang out with. He seems pretty down to earth. However, his comedy is not exactly for me. I still haven't been on the attraction (haven't been to the parks since it opened) but unless it's at a walk on, I probably won't give it a chance otherwise. Twister was clearly dated, but I still enjoyed that attraction because it was classic, and I remember going with my parents when I was young. Brought back good memories.
  7. There was some discussion in the Speculation thread about an attendance thread. Shoutout to Dreamstalker for making the thread back in 2009, which I ripped this from and made some adjustments. I don't think we've had one of these in the last few years, but I figured I'd give it a shot. HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS 27 Official Horror Night Nightmares Attendance List If you are going to HHN this year and know the nights you are visiting, then make a post with those dates as well as any of the letters from the Key below that apply to you. Please try to post only if you are mostly certain you will be attending that night. If you need to make an update to add or remove nights, please make a new post! I do not get alerted when you edit an existing post. When you want to make changes, make a new post so I see it. I will attempt to update at least once per day. Feel free to use this thread to organize meetups for specific nights as well. Doesn't have to be exact, just make sure I can understand it. If you are doing a RIP or UtH tour, feel free to include the date/time/guide info in your post, as I recently added a section for that at the bottom of this post. 8. I'm going to check this out on my lunch break (assuming I find time to eat today). Also, shooting you a PM here in a sec.
  9. Ebay is pretty much it. Sometimes I'll find one or two things at thrift shops in CenFla but not often.
  10. Y'all wanna sit here and act like fucking children be my guest. Can't say I didn't try. I'll check back in a few days when we're talking about HHN again. Later.
  11. He's allowed to have his opinion just as you are yours. I'm all for friendly debate, but let's not start the name-calling please.
  12. I have to ask, what makes you think so?
  13. Although I didn't get to make it out last year. I may still go this year if funds are permitting since I work right down the road, just as an excuse to hang out after work on Fridays. Maybe take some pictures and people watch, have some drinks. We'll see.
  14. I wouldn't go so far as to say they're the only ones "worth a damn" but they're certainly my favorites. It may also just be coincidence that 2002, 2003 and 2009 were my favorite years. I would still prefer to see some new Icons though. Like, completely new. Not tied to lore (Lady Luck, Bloody Mary) or other characters (Chance) or past events (Eddie). Give me something fresh damnit.
  15. Mildly off-topic, but " It is deep within this maze of seemingly mindless letters and numbers that some interesting words are popping up for the experience code readers among us. So what are they? " Today I learned inspecting a web page in chrome and CTRL+F for "jack" and other various terms, or just skimming the page, makes someone an "experienced code reader." Give me a fucking break. Back to the topic though, I agree with Badge on the portion of giving some of the lesser icons a little limelight. I personally don't care for Chance, and would prefer Jack alone. Just my 2 cents. But if we are getting a ton of TV and Movie houses, the Usher or Director would be a good pick. But I could always use more Usher or Director, regardless.
  16. In regards to your "Uncharted waters" clue, that could just mean "something that hasn't been done before." Which could be anything. Idk. I'm always skeptical about these sorts of things until we get an official word anyway. Volcano Bay is water-themed, opening in May, and is "uncharted" in more ways than one. But I can't imagine them incorporating a water park with an alcohol-fueled horror event at all. A 4-month old (at the time of the event) one at that. Edit: Didn't see "I'm not sure if Hollywood is in on the fun. I would suppose that they would be. All things considered." So Hollywood could not be in on the fun if that were the case anyway. It was a hell of a stretch though. The speculation continues onward...
  17. Which sucks because The Shining is one of my favorite horror/thriller films of all time, up there with Alien. I would kill for an IT themed house though. That's a good thought about the movie coming up in September. I'll keep a mental note and see if anything pops up.
  18. Don't know how I haven't seen this, HHN 12 was my first year. This should be good.
  19. Care to elaborate? I didn't attend last year but it seems like the majority enjoyed the show. What didn't you like about it? Anything you'd like to see in its place?
  20. No national holidays are that weekend. If you call and ask, they may give you an answer.
  21. Every year we have the "Bring Eddie Back!" brigade, but I just don't really feel it's necessary either. I like him having a house and a few small appearances throughout the event. It's a subtle nod.
  22. On the topic of merch, I'd love something like a polo or dickies/red kap style button down. Something I could wear to work. Would even shell out up to $40 if it was simple and not tacky/covered in blood and just the years logo or even just "Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights" on the pocket region. I'm just getting too old to appreciate generic graphic tees I guess. If they did something interesting with them (and not plaster them with logos/catchphrases/glitter) maybe I'd be more inclined.
