  1. Any time I want to feel like I'm at HHN, all I have to do is turn all my lights out, play a few different MS songs on loop on a few different stereos throughout my house, turn on my two fog machines and some colored lights
  2. I got the full effect of foam in my nose constanty I've also only experienced the event at Universal, but I feel that the studios is a better park to have it at. Overall, I think IOA is a better park, and certainly better themed, but the theming in several areas is way too specific to allow much variety in the themes at A&D can use, not to mention half of the park would have to be scarezone free (Potter and Seuss). I know this has all been said before, but I really think Universal Studio's lack of specific theming allows for more creativity with adding props. Since most of the areas in Universal are just city streets they can be anything. I'd love a JP scarezone but that's all I think IOA has going for it when it comes to IOA. Now to throw in some wishful thinking. I like what Legacy has said when it comes to what direction the event is heading. Hopefully Rock It will be open this time to suck up some crowds. A special Halloween soundtrack may be something in the far future but hopefully they will change the lights on the outside to fit the theme, like they did for Mardi Gras. Keep having excessive fog like Sting Alley and the pumpkin area had last year, do more houses like Catacombs and Havoc, and I'll be a happy camper! (I haven't posted anything HHN related on here in a while...this was fun, I should start doing it again)
  3. I was about to reply and say that the link didn't work. It wasn't until I quoted your post that I noticed this. For some reason, the link doesn't work, but copying and pasting it does.
  4. Every time I see your sig it makes my day

  5. I guess we can just agree to disagree then. I'm looking at the scenery too. I'm looking all around. Some houses the lack of a roof didn't really bother me as much as others but in Legendary Truth it really completely killed the illusion that you were inside an actual house. I say this because I was one of the ones complaining about the lack of roofs the most. While Universal does want to keep crowds controlled to keep their guests happy so they come back, they don't want to tell people who are willing to pay that they can't. The event is not recommended for children under 13 but every kid is different and some can handle it. This certainly isn't a kid's event, but it's a theme park. Families go to theme parks. Where would you say they should set the limit? 18? 21? A lot of people would be pretty upset if they came to Universal for one day and that day happened to be a day that it was "adult only night" While the alcohol debate is an entirely different story, I don't think limiting the number of bar stands would stop those who were determined to get alcohol. It would just make those lines even longer and possibly make some angry drunks. I agree with you on this. People complained that this year's archway decorations were nonexistant. I say who cares! Get in the park before the event starts and don't wait outside. I'm guessing that based on their name, they are pretty well suited to keeping sound out... But if they had a show there, where would they put the queue for Soundstage 20? Now this I 100% disagree with you on. I think that the actors in the streets are some of the best actors in the entire event! No offense is intended to any of the amazing actors who have worked in houses, but actors in a house really only have time to jump out at you or do a few things over and over before hiding back in their boohole. Actors in the streets have to constantly stay in character because they are always being watched. Many of them will interact and talk with the guests for a very long time and stay in character the entire time. Besides, when the lines for houses get long, do you want to hang out in empty streets that are amazingly themed? Yeah, I guess that was a bit of a rant, and not really even on topic for this thread, but I has some strong opinions about your post
  6. So...I met you today! And didn't realize who you were until just now! Hi!

  7. Actually, I really like it! It's similar to the tradition of the other icons while still being something new. It would be a great way to bring back a street show too.
  8. When I make a signature I really have no idea what it's going to look like until I'm done. I just open photoshop, load all the images I plan on using, and start adding them together one by one until I get something I like. This one I'm pretty happy with except I'm unsure about the text. I messed around with the colors for a while and I had a hard time deciding on the font. Let me know what you think: I really like the way that red dragon came out too, so I thought you might like to see the full picture: http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/1333/reddragonbychaosspiritd.jpg
  9. I really like both of these ideas. The actors in Havoc were fantastic and it was almost a shame to have them confined to a house. Put those bad boys and girls out on the streets and it would be insane. Also, I know we had Frankenstein last year as a Steampunk house, but I'd love to see a more traditional steampunk house in a soundstage in one of the upcoming years. Something set in a factory, with moving machines and steam, with lots of steel everywhere. Angry workers with wrenches and various other tools and weapons attacking you. Of course I love the idea of anything Catacombs related returning. Overall, I think next year Universal has it's work cut out for them if they want to top this year. After having "fear" as the icon, how do you do something scarier than fear himself? I don't think we will see two parks used again any time in the future and I honestly don't want to see it. Besides, the only reason why IOA is cool for HHN is because Jurassic Park is a really kickass place to have a scarezone. The park would be full of dead areas since Universal isn't allowed to put a scarezone in Seuss or Potter.
  10. They should show up fine. You may be viewing a blank sheet of the document. Did you click the different tabs along the bottom? The last three nights are blank.
  11. So you may say I have no life. I just think I have too much time on my hands. But I have collected the wait time updates that were sent out through text messages twice an hour for all of the houses for every event night. While this data is mostly useless, I thought I'd share it with you all because it is interesting to see which nights were more crowded than others. I started doing this last year halfway through the event because it made me feel like I was there. This time I tried to get them every night, to see what nights ended up being the busiest. I am missing a few times here and there because the service was not perfect, and unfortunately I am missing the last three nights because no texts were sent out on those nights (I tried several times and was not able to get any) I did some simple equations within the cells to determine the average wait time of each house each night, as well as the average wait time overall for each night. For those curious, the busiest night of the event (based on this information) was Thursday, October 14th with an average wait time of 61 minutes. The least busiest night was Thursday, September 30th, with an average wait time of 14 minutes. You can download the excel sheet here: http://www.mediafire.com/?i92urpp8anwkcc3 I've heard people tell me that the text message wait times are not entirely accurate, and I don't really expect them to be. But when you have them all together it does give you a good idea of what nights ended up being the most crowded.
  12. Plague Doctors for sure! Fear's minions were awesome too, but not really because of their costume and more because of how much fun the actors were.
  13. That reminds me, I never really posted my thoughts on the actual VIP Lounge. I love it! I didn't go on a night that they had a presentation but I'm glad that I didn't! There was nobody in there except for me and two friends most of the time, and it was so amazing because when Fear Revealed did it's cast changes the icons would come through and have fun with us! I hope that they have something similar to this again next year. (he was only there for about 30 seconds, and while he was, he stayed perfectly in character and it was amazing)
  14. Have you been wearing it this entire time? That's....really weird. But it actually sounds like something that I might do.
  15. I'm really going to miss your zone, more than anything else about this year. About a month ago I was one of the people who didn't like the idea of bringing the icons back, and wanted totally new and original things. But the icons are awesome! It was so much fun seeing and interacting with all of these characters that I know and love, but that not necessarily all of the general public knows. It was always cool to see the actor's reactions when I actually knew their character's names. They would go above and beyond and would play along. HHN will always continue to improve it's theming and scares, but I really wonder if Universal will be able to make a zone as fun as this one was any time soon. I really hope so.
  16. Haha, I saw you a lot that night. I remember meeting you over in Saws n Steam when I saw your cat, and I thought it was pretty cool that you knew who I was. I honestly miss this zone more than anything else about this year's event.
  17. Sorry for the double post. A lot of people want to know what went on with the icons at the end of the event. Nothing really that affects their storyline. No, they weren't killed off. But they DID have a hell of a lot of fun with everyone. At one point, all of the 20 Years of Fear scarezone ran over into Fear Revealed. I spent the last two hours of Halloween night in the Fear Revealed scarezone. It was the most fun I've had at HHN ever. Such a fun scarezone, say what you all want, but I LOVE the zones that are used as photo ops. The actors are really into their roles and are so much fun to interact with.
  18. I'm definitely interested! I will continue to listen to these tracks for a long time. I really appreciate the work you put into making these, especially now that the event is over and we have no other way to relive it.
  19. I knew about this scare, and kept trying to get the effect, but nine times through the house and I could never get the full effect. I got half of it once, and it wasn't very strong. I posted this in the music thread, but more people will see it here. HHN is over, but if you want to re-live the experience of going through this house, I purchased two of the songs that play in it and uploaded them to youtube so nobody else has to buy them
  20. Well you all decided to start using her avatar, so I can't blame him for making that mistake
  21. I couldn't find the soundtrack to the 2006 version of The Wicker Man, so I bought 2 of the songs listed here on iTunes. I decided I'd take one for the team so you all can hear them. I'll put them up on youtube later tonight when I get home from class. I might do the same with a few of the songs from The Reaping, since I really like the Esqueleto music. Let me know if anyone has any info on that song from the 20 years of fear warehouse that I've been looking for.
  22. My video had four different actresses. The Cindy and Chance from both casts. I made sure to include all of them because they were all great.
  23. I remember on closing weeked, a guy came up to you and said "Hey grandma can I take a picture with you?" And you replied "I'm not Grandma, I'm the Storyteller!" That was awesome. Haha, that explains why you always would pet Fluffy when I was around. Fear Revealed was the most fun I've ever had in a scarezone. Universal will always continue to make wonderful immersive and scary streets, but I don't know how they will be able to top this one. All of the icons I love, willing to interact and have fun, while still scaring. The Director never really scared me, but he kept coming up to me trying, which was awesome. Both Cindys were incredible and I had so much fun with them. The VIP Lounge was a great idea and I loved it simply because it allowed more time for one on one interaction with these awesome characters. And I leave you now with this:
