  1. There are two threads every year. This one is specifically for the scareactors. See from last year? Anyway, I'll start since nobody else has. This is me I will be wearing a nightmares shirt every night I'm there and most likely be with others who are as well. I'll be at the event employee preview, all of opening weekend, and all of closing weekend, except for Wednesday the 26th.
  2. We had this thread last year, but it wasn't made until the morning of the first day of HHN. I thought I'd make it a week early this year so there is a better chance of more people seeing it. Basically, this is the place to post a picture of yourself to try and get an extra scare or two from the members on HNN who are scareactors!
  3. So “The Masque of the Red Death" has been confirmed UORHHN HHN 21 Step inside works of insanity like “The Masque of the Red Death” and realize… you’re going as mad as he was. http://twitpic.com/6hz8km
  4. So there was supposedly a hint in Catacombs about this year's event, about how Mankind has always been intrigued by Death. Does anyone have any ideas on how that translates to this year?
  5. Great construction update, thanks for taking the pictures! Canyon of Dark Souls seems to be taking shape a bit more differently than i had expected. I was thinking a literal canyon, but it looks like instead the walls are made of large cloaked figures. It's nice to see construction started in Hollywood also. 7 different platforms for 7 different actors. With them all spread out like that and with a few extra roaming the streets this could be a well balanced zone.
  6. I always go around the park, counter clockwise, usually starting at the tents since the parade building often doesn't have a long line. Tent 1 Tent 2 Jaws Disaster Soundstage Houses in whatever order seems best at the time. Parade building first if it is already open, otherwise Tent 1 and then parade building later.
  7. I'm not sure who made the page, but it's been around for two days now http://www.facebook.com/pages/Steve-the-Acid-Washed-Rat/251267434913559
  8. Here are all of my wallpapers in 1920x1200. I will be making one soon with all of the houses and uploading it in 1920x1080 as well as 1920x1200. The In Between: The two sides of Lady Luck: 2011 Scarezones: A good way to use these wallpapers is to go into your settings and set them all to rotate in between each one. The words will appear to change color when it cycles through all of the wallpapers.
  9. Here is my wallpaper with all of the scarezones for 2011. I'm going to make one with the houses tomorrow. Resolution is 1920x1080 As always if you would like a different resolution for your own computer just ask!
  10. Nice review of all the houses and scarezones! You're right, it's later than most, but I do agree with you on your favorite scarezone and house last year!
  11. Last year in Hallow'd past they used the smell of gasoline for the one guy with a fake chainsaw to the left after exiting the vortex tunnel. That I am positive of, because I specifically remember it. Other houses that used fake chainsaws with eprompts may have used that smell as well but Hallow'd Past I know for sure. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they use that smell in this house.
  12. 3D projection is amazing, but I'm afraid you guys might be getting your hopes up. Where has anyone said that there will be 3D projection? There are regular projections on the buildings in that area normally, and if I remember correctly the whole "3D projection" rumor started when someone simply mentioned that projection technology is amazing nowadays (this was posted when someone mentioned that projectors were in the area.)
  13. I'm glad that they are using this area as something more than a safe zone this year. The pumpkins were cool, but I can't wait to have an actual scarezone in here, dark, tons of fog, and lots of scares to be had. This is currently my most anticipated scarezone.
  14. (Question is for anyone that thinks they know or wants to speculate) How do you guys think they will be able to change the layout of the maze throughout the night? It's obvious that these fences are able to swing and change positions, but it seems like they would need to clear all of the people out of the way for safety reasons. Would they change automatically, or have ops or actors move them? I'm excited about this zone for the reason that it seems very unique, it may end up being a gimmick, but I'm glad that they are trying something new. I'm hoping that this zone will be very dark and disorienting. Also this scarezone may have the potential for better scares since you most likely won't be able to see the actors from a distance.
  15. I remember reading about the VIP lounge on the site last year. Does anyone know if that came with the full reveal or was it announced later? I really hope they have it, it was a great way to interact with the scareactors between cast changes and buy drinks without having to wait in line. I doubt they will though, it seems like it was a special 20th year thing only.
  16. I really need to go to bed I'll probably make a more complicated one later with all the houses. This one looks incomplete but I saw those awesome images and had to use them. Looks great on my big monitor but probably wouldn't be so good on a smaller one. Some people may not like that the edges have nothing going on but I do that with every wallpaper I make so I have places for the few icons on my desktop without them covering anything up.
  17. I normally don't get huge scares. I'll jump, sure, but a full on scare rarely happens. ONE time it did. It was in Havoc last year. It wasn't even my first time through the house. I was going through with my friends and one of them grabbed my arm behind me. I turned around to see what happened, and as I turned back to face forward, a bald woman was right in my face. It was a perfect distraction, and this excellent scareactor took advantage of it. I don't know what it was, but that scare got me so good my heart was pumping with adrenaline the whole rest of the way through the house, and afterward. For the rest of the event I never had another moment with such a perfect scare as that. Another great scare that I loved when I got was in Catacombs last year. The room (I would guess it was about halfway through) where two or three plague doctors would get you from both sides, usually a chain reaction scare. Throughout the rest of 2010 I consistently enjoyed Catacombs more overall than Havoc. But Havoc delivered that one perfect scare that I've never gotten anywhere else.
  18. I love the scarezones, and whether or not they will be good is what makes the event for me! I can't wait for them this year, since they look much more unique than they have been in past years. I'll list my most anticipated scarezones now just to see how my expectations line up with reality once the event starts. 1) Nightmaze (The idea of a maze in the streets just sounds awesome) 2) Grown Evil (Can't wait to see a scarezone in central park. This area looked amazing before even when it wasn't a scarezone.) 3) Canyon of Dark Souls 4) 7 5) Acid Assault 6) Your Luck Has Run Out
  19. This year looks even better than last! The scarezones are so unique too. Grown Evil, Nightmaze, and Canyon of Dark Souls should be unlike anything we've seen in the streets for a while. Has anyone made an updated map yet? What do you guys think about Death Drums? Will it be a street show, or a sit down show in the Beetlejuice theater?
  20. It's very hard to decide when we still know so little about each house, but I'm going to post here so after the event I can see how my expectations compare with reality. 1. The In Between 2. Nevermore: The Madness of Poe 3. Nightingales: Blood Prey 4. Winter's Night: The Haunting of Hawthorn Cemetery 5. The Forsaken 6. Saws n Steam: Into the Machine 7. The Thing 8. H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: Holidays of Horror
  21. Yeah I noticed that too. I'm guessing they will repaint them like they did with the other one in the top picture. Neon fire is just going to look too out of place there. (Also, you have a Droid 3? Awesome. I have a Droid 2 and love it.)
  22. Full resolution image from twitpic: http://hotproxy02.twitpic.com/photos/full/382290368.jpg Those look terrifying. My first thought was vampires, but on a second look they don't look human-like at all. (I'm glad to see HHN's twitter is using twitpic again. For the last few hints they used a different service that didn't allow me to download the large versions of the pictures.)
  23. While I don't usually get scared in the streets, they are always the most fun part of the event for me. Especially scarezones like Fear Revealed and Horrorwood, where the focus isn't just on being scary, it's about having fun at the same time. Exactly. When you go several nights and get tired of waiting in lines, scarezones are the place to be! That is why I am happy that it looks like they are going to be spending more on elaborate scarezones this year. I just had to comment on this topic, since I feel very strongly about it and wanted to post before this whole conversation gets deleted because it's not "speculation".
  24. It seems like Loose Cannon is actually a game of skill rather than luck, unlike the other seven games. As long as you are able to balance the ship long enough to cut all four ropes, you will always win, right?
  25. This was just posted to Twitter! If you look closely, it says it's the facade for Soundstage 22
