  1. I used to read TPR all the time, I think I have like 650 something posts there, I haven't gone in a while though. In the last year my interest has gone from theme parks and roller coasters to Universal and HHN almost exclusively. It's such a popular forum now and hard to keep up with everything like I can over here. I normally finish sigs a lot faster but I've been out of it for the last two days. Here's what I came up with. I can add or change anything if you want, I still have the original.
  2. This is what happens when I'm stuck at home while all my friends are at HHN. I miss my favorite scarezone.
  3. I think I should go with the Hallow one since it's a bit more original. I've been having a hard time finding any pictures from it aside from the facade or the logo, which should be enough to make a sig, but if you have any specific pictures you want me to use, let me know. By the way, are you Spookbaby from Theme Park Review?
  4. I absolutely love these two pictures. They really capture the atmosphere of the event. Sting Alley looks so ominous in that second one.
  5. Right. I found out later who he was, and he seems pretty cool and I've heard he's nice...We just had no idea who he was and we all assumed he was with someone in our group. I actually just made that to see if he'd see it and say something to us
  6. Right, I know Roddy wouldn't be doing it again, I was hoping that they'd have someone else do it this year like maybe Mike Aiello. Oh well.
  7. Using some of BigChippah's photos, I have created a wallpaper based on the 20 Years of Fear scarezone. (Click for full size) You can find more wallpapers in my sig/artwork thread
  8. When I was walking through this zone during the day I noticed that there were splatters of fake blood all over the ground. Was this done as part of the theming? I didn't notice it at night. Or could it possibly have been makeup that was sweated off?
  9. I remember watching walkthrough videos from 2008 and 2009 of Interstellar Terror, Body Collectors, Dracula, and Frankenstein. Roddy took the cameraman through each of these houses with the lights on and gave us a behind the scenes tour of them. I was really looking forward to seeing these videos this year, but since he no longer works for Universal, will someone else be doing them? Just wondering if anyone had any information on this. And for those of you who don't know what videos I am talking about, here they are: Interstellar Terror: Body Collectors: Dracula: Frankenstein:
  10. I feel bad about missing this show on opening weekend because I was really looking forward to seeing it. Even if I have to split up with my group I'm making sure to see Malice on closing weekend or sooner if I somehow get lucky enough to go again before then. I was in line for Zombiegeddon and I could have sworn that I heard songs by Benny Benassi and Pendulum during one of the shows. Was this during Menace or Malice?
  11. Exactly. And Universal knows tons of people who would go to HHN at night and pay full price for a IOA ticket during the day.
  12. ^^ That was probably the most accurate review of this house I have seen yet!
  13. I have rearranged the first post because I am running out of room and reached the maximum number of images allowed in one post. I moved all of the wallpapers to the third post in this thread and hopefully it is easy to find. I have today and tomorrow off work so now is the perfect time for me to make sigs if anyone wants to request them.
  14. Honestly, I agree, although now that I have an annual pass this no longer matters to me. Last year I had no annual pass and loved the fact that I could go to IOA for 3 hours before HHN since I was up in orlando. But now with Potter open, getting to go into IOA is now worth a lot more, and Universal would lose a lot of potential money if they let people into IOA for only $15.
  15. The way I see it, Legendary Truth is the best house (or second best, depending on your opinion of Hallow'd Past) if you are judging based on theming. If you are judging houses based on scares alone, Catacombs is the best house from my experiences, and Legendary Truth is at the bottom.
  16. What is the probability of them making the regular FFP available on the last Saturday of the event? I know it's happened the last few years, but are they going to leave us non FFP+ people out this year? Also, is it possible to buy a FFP on the last week of the event? I'm going with a friend that week and even if you only use it for two days, the FFP is the best deal. When do they usually announce that they are including those dates? I want to buy my friend's ticket's soon but not until they announce if the FFP will be good for then.
  17. I remember that video. HATE it when that happens. Unfortunately it happens all the time and I always glare at the person or ask them wtf are they doing. I've seen kids (and even adults) pointing out scares waiting to happen to other guests, and probably the most common, people trying to "scare" the actors or other guests. Believe me, if you do this, you look like a complete idiot, and if you try and scare the other guests you're just an asshole.
  18. I'm glad that this meetup is planned for Halloween, since that is the only other night I know for sure that I am going to HHN. I'm also glad to see that the other votes that have been cast so far are the same as mine. This is looking good. Last year the vault group picture was great, but I didn't get to be in it. I can't wait to be in the first large HNN group picture! And don't worry, I'll definitely be wearing my HNN shirt! I love it!
  19. Really great trip repoort, and I pretty much agree with you on most of the house reviews. I know you spent a lot of time in this trip report, and now I wish I had done the same because yours is much more well written. I had so much fun with you guys this weekend, and I'm glad we got to do the houses as many times as we did.
  20. This house gave me the best scare I have ever had. I wish I could remember where it was so I could thank them. All I know is that it was someone on my left, and I'm pretty sure they were behind a drop down boo door. I had a huge smile on my face and couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the way through that house. It really made my night, whoever you were. I was starting to get worried that haunted houses in a theme park event can't scare me.
  21. This was the best house of the year in my opinion! I went through it five times and every single time, the Scareactors did an amazing job! We must have some HNN members in there, because I got targeted by three plague doctors at the same time once.
  22. EYYYY! That was fun. This was a great house. My first house of the year. Didn't quite know what to expect on the way in, and I didn't know if I liked it that much after my first run through, but after my second and third I think this holds a solid third place in my top houses (for scares). This house is either first or second though when it comes to detail and all around awesomeness though. I love the dead exposure scenes, and the tunnel is a perfect way to transition those two scenes. The guy in the Frightanic/Ship of Screams scene (don't know which one it was) did a great job of looking like he wasn't real, then scaring us. The Body Collector was awesome, and so was just about everything else in this house.
  23. SPOILERS This was my most anticipated house, not only because the effects were supposed to be highly sophisticated, but because the paranormal is one of my biggest fears. My first impression, wow. I loved this facade. It looked just like a real house, and there was even grass! I loved that we ended up actually walking up the steps too. I was expecting to be using the ramp up the side. As soon as I got past the first room and into the hallway though, I was a bit dissapointed. Once again, I really want to know WHY the houses have nothing above you except for the roof of the building way up high. It made too much light and also took away a lot of the feeling of being in a real house. But aside from that, I still didn't like this house as much as I was expecting. It turns out, even though I'm afraid of the paranormal, it's not something that translates very well into a haunted house. I got one or two jumps out of actors, but more often than not I just saw them standing there waiting, instead of actually scaring people. Also, where were all these cool effects I heard about? Where was the strobe effect that was rumored? Sure, the floating ghost was kinda cool, but that was nothing more than a backlit scrim, nothing special. The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland has been doing effects with backlit scrims for over 40 years. Lasers in the finale room? So what. A moving chair? I saw that in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (plus I never saw this actor scare anyone). Don't get me wrong. I didn't hate this house. It was a great house. Just a let down, and not nearly as good as some of the others this year. So those are my thoughts on Legendary Truth. It's a great house with amazing detail, but I really prefer the in your face, scary houses.
  24. Our plan was to start at Hallow'd Past and do the entire park counterclockwise. Orfanage generally has long lines once the park gets crowded because it's in the Jaws queue and it's right by B&T. We should have waited for Orfanage to open at 6:30, but we didn't. Instead, we went over to LT and waited in that line, which was dumb because at that time, the line was at the longest wait that it would be all night, and Orfanage was short at that time but quickly getting longer.
