  1. It's always amazing to me how when an event night falls on Halloween that it tends to be a quiet night. Heck, why not celebrate Halloween at HHN?! I guess most people think that it will be crowded simply due to the fact that it falls on the holiday itself. (Perhaps we can keep this misnomer to ourselves and let everyone else continue to believe such!) And I agree...Universal tends to under estimate wait times in a massive way. We got in line for Dracula last year and it said 20 minute wait...40 minutes later we had yet to move. (Whoever figures those wait times needs to brush up on their estimation skills a bit...LOL)
  2. If opening weekend is the only time you can go then that is perfect! You couldn't ask for a better way to experience the event. As everyone has mentioned that weekend is less crowded, all the houses/zones/performers are fresh, it's a great way to really immerse yourself in the event and take it all in, sans the crowds.
  3. I'm really looking forward to meeting you too this year at HHN sweetie! :-)

  4. Thanks sweetie! Everyone who knows me can vouch for the fact that no matter what, we will all meet up at some point...it's a must!
  5. That's why we get along so well sweetie....great minds think alike! I fell in love with those pumpkins, so it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all to see them used again in some way, shape or form! Now THAT Jimmy is an absolutely AMAZING idea right there!!! A wonderful combination showing homage to the classic, keeping the pumpkins and giving Central Park the props it deserves during the event...LOVE IT!
  6. Roddy's job...I wish Jimmy! I'll be working in guest services; same job I had 15 years ago when I worked at the Studios!
  7. Opening night is in one word...AMAZING!!! Now mind you, there are still glitches throughout the event, but if you really LOVE it, this is the night to attend! Amazingly enough, the night isn't as crowded as you would think it would be. It is busy but not nearly as crowded as the following evening (which always falls on a Saturday) or some of the later weekend dates. If you get a Frequent Fear Pass, you have the opportunity to go numerous times throughout the event and see the progressions and changes that are made to the houses, scare zones and shows. I think most longtime attendees will agree with me, opening night is a must! ( (At least to me...LOL)
  8. Today's events may or may not have a direct effect on me helping orchestra an opening night get together: I just got hired by Universal Depending on my scheduling during the event, I may or may not be able to put together our little "partay" for opening night. However, I have every intention to keep on running with this plan until the last possible second! Hopefully I'll have a night or two off to be able to enjoy the event as well and get the opportunity to spend time with all my HNN family!
  9. LOL...it's funny how so many people say that about their first experience at HHN..."I drank so much the first five minutes, I forget what happened!" LOL And the fog equating pea soup...that was always the very BEST!!!
  10. It never hurts to have that one person who screams at everything to make the even just a little more hysterical...
  11. Now THAT would be an amazing combination! I would absolutely LOVE to see a Field of Screams/Harvest of the Souls style scare zone pop up again. In my opinion, two of the best scare zones over the past 19 years! EXCELLENT idea Mark! (Who do we need to send that to to make it happen?! LOL) Jeramy, You've pretty much covered everything I would love to see HHN 20 encompass if it's going to be a look back over the last 19 years of the event! It makes me giddy thinking we could potentially see some of these conceptions in October...
  12. It's so great to see you posting here Jimmy!!! And we need to knock back a few Guinnesses and catch up! (Mentally counting you in...LOL) Hope all is well! Megz, I will definitely make it a point to make sure that we have random get togethers throughout the event so we all can do just that, hit some houses and scare zones together! And hoist a few Coke's (make mine a diet please...LOL) together as well! Chelsea, Welcome to HNN! I'm hoping we can plan random get together's through the event run...including something during the last two weeks as well!
  13. When the company that runs the event starts "leaking" videos, it pretty much negates the need for people to try and replicate the process. And like Mark said, disuades other people from trying it...simply because Universal has all access to film and leak whatever they want...the average Joe's video isn't going to provide nearly the "sneak peak" that a corporate one will.
  14. I can give you a laundry list of reasons for you and Sherry to move here sweetie! It would be nice if they included Halloween this year, simply because it does fall on a Sunday...since the next day is a school/work day I'm not sure it would be overly crowded. We missed Halloween night last year, but every other year when the FFP were usable for Halloween, the crowds surprisingly weren't too bad. How bad were they this past year?
  15. Word...I think one night should be Flava Flav night, I'll bring the big clock, you bring yourself... Mike, Trust me...when you are Sherry in town again this year, we WILL make it a point to all get together and hoist a few Guinnesses!
  16. Now THAT would be amazing! I'm not ususally big on film sequels, because well they tend to suck...LOL...but the Resident Evil triology is one of the few that I love all three flicks. Can you imagine what a massive soundstage house taking you through all three films would be like?! I hope so! I'm with you, if USH had the maze, the least they could do is give us one as well! (We can always hope!)
  17. The S.S. Frightanic was an amazing house! I agree JW, I miss the little risks they took in the old days to really amp up the ambiance of the houses and SZ. Another example is keeping the Midway of the Bizarre over in Amity and pumping in so much fog that you couldn't see a foot in front of you. Sure you ran into people and inantimate objects walking through there and couldn't catch your breath because of the sheer volume of fog...but THAT is what made it so much fun!
  18. Old school request...John Carpenter's original "Halloween" If done right, this house couple be very simple but extremely scary!
  19. I'd like to see them keep the pumpkins somewhere in the park, just because I'm one of those people who loves to actually see Halloween oriented things like jack-o-laterns at a Halloween event...for me it adds to the ambiance. If they could use the pumpkins in Central Park, that'd be a unique look for that area since it seems to get lost behind the vendor carts that flank in on all sides during the event.
  20. If they do end up doing the 10/10 configuration for this year, I just hope the houses and sz are all quality. Because I'm all about quality versus quantity! We've never watched RHPS since it's inception, so if whether it comes back or not doesn't matter to us. (Once you've done the real deal at the theater with a live cast, anything else just doesn't seem the same...) It would make sense to me if they would keep B&T alive for the 20th anniversary, it would be nice to see a recollection of the past 17 years of the show as a way to celebrate it. I agree with Mark that a 360 show showing the highlights of the history of the event would be a nice treat, I enjoyed the Sweet 16 360 show. It will be very interesting to see what transpires this year, the 20th anniversary opens the door for so much!
  21. GORGEOUS!!! That has a very etherial, loving, spiritual Bob Marleyesque feel to it...I adore it bro! <3
  22. Welcome to the HNN family Dan, wonderful to have you aboard! And I agree with you and Megz, those types of houses just don't gel right with me either. While it's neat to try and capture multiple concepts into one house and like Dan said cater to all the fans, for me it's really disconnected to a certain point. I enjoy following the storyline in the houses, it's intereseting to see the vingettes and how the story plays out and ultimately what the wow factor will be for the ending. I will be curious to see if they do a multi-room house in honor of the past 20 years...if it's to celebrate each icon or theme, that would be something I think we'd all appreciate!
  23. Let me know your the solo/ensemble results from this weekend! Good luck sweetie! :-)

  24. I very rarely ever look at any of the pictures or video that people obtain prior to the event opening, simply because I like to be surprised on opening night. That being said, I also don't begrudge the fact that many people love to see the progression of the event through photos and video, but I do worry about the issue of these images being obtained illegally or in a haphazard manner. But if the individuals who take on the risk of getting these photos/video ever get caught and/or injured in the process, it's not as if they can claim they weren't potentially expecting either.
  25. I know we still haven't met, but we've tried...LOL Hence my love for trying to meet up...we'll make it happen this year! Not sure when we are heading south again, probably late summer as well.
