  1. yep that's pretty much it. ;)

I'll probably be posting stuff to DD where I am so can give you a rough idea. But I move counterclockwise typically from the party. Often I give a lot of stuff out at the AP party just cuz everyone is there. I got buttons, I'll bring some chicken feet, the figures (crossing my fingers I finish them)... I'll see what else I can dig up and could smuggle in.

Sucks for me! Heading up Oct 4th :(

  2. Thanks! I want to get a night shot with the lighting and the fog soon. I have a director for the video. It will probably be after Halloween though because he's working with Taylor Swift right now.

Fancy! Any plans to airbrush your torso? Not sure if you plan on going white skin paint or dirty brown.

  3. Alright. Stay n Scream at Finnegan's. Go straight for the front 4. Last year they opened up AvP first where FvJ is this year... If I have the right map...  the plan is:

    1.) FvJ

    2.) AWIL

    3.) M&M

4.) BC ----- So basically going to the first they open then heading to the front of the park house and hitting them in order minus AiW3D

5.) MAYBE AiW3D. Not too stoked for this house so it might be one we skip at first. If we do it then it will be spur of the moment since we are already in the front of the park

    6.) RUN

7.) Bill n Ted? Love the show, only reason for the "?" is unsure of show times to coincide with my "PoA"

    *Should be dark by now*

8.) Insidious (OH GOD GIVE ME YES)

    9.)  Purge

    10.) TWD

    11.) Jack Show

12.) Unused FP+ on whatever we have left. Probably a nighttime RRR ride.

  4. It all depends how you want to experience the event.  Do you want a relaxing time or to feel more rushed?  Wednesdays are definitely the least busy, IMO, but that doesn't mean there won't be long waits.  I've had plenty of Wednesdays without Express and did all the houses.  You can get at least 3 out of the way early.  Being the 25th anniversary is also likely going to mean record crowds this year.  If you can splurge for an EP, I would.  It'll make for a more relaxed night and you could easily repeat a few houses and go at your own pace, have plenty of time for shows and F&B.

Speaking of that, like I said I am going on Sunday the 4th and I went ahead and got our EP+ last night! Excited to hit most stuff without the pass and then be able to use it to skip the lines for another go!

  5. Don't be so hard on yourself! You're doing great and you can definitely tell! Work hard and eat clean man. I know I couldn't do that for long! lol Also, you gonna post anything over at DD on FB on the finished product? I'm sure the guys there would like to see it too!

  6. Now that we have had the full reveal, I can chime in on this!

    1. Body Collectors- Recollections: I adore the Body Collectors Characters, and to me the environment of Shadybook is classic Halloween Horror Nights. I will be visiting with people who are newer converts to HHN, so I can't wait to experience this environment and story with them. I also love the snowstorm idea. Winter's Night was one of my favorite HHN houses ever, so if it can capture even a tiny bit of the wintry aesthetics of that house I will be pleased!

    2. Jack Presents: 25 Years of Monsters and Mayhem - Nightingales, Gothic, Forsaken, Bloodengutz...Again I can't wait to share these environments with my friends and family, and to relive some of my favorite experiences that keep me coming back year after year!

    3. Run: Blood, Sweat, and Fears - I was not terribly excited for RUN at all, I thought it might be sub par considering all that they are taking on this year and would be a dud, but finding out that it will take place in Hellgate, and rid itself of the terrible hostile territory overlay made me much more excited for this house.

    4. Freddy vs. Jason - I'm not a huge fan of either one of the properties, but this seems like a passion project, so I'm hoping a lot of effort was poured into this house and I can't wait to see it. Plus they are accessible horror icons to the public, a great way to celebrate 25 years!

    5. Asylum in Wonderland 3D - I know i'm in the minority here, but I enjoy most 3-D houses, (With the Inbetween being the gold standard in my mind) and between my love of the Alice Stories, and the references to things like Ultra Violent Comics, I think they can pull this off.

    6. An American Werewolf in London - I loved the original, so I'm sure I will enjoy it once again, but it is a little disappointing that this will be more or less "Scene for Scene" as Mike put it.

    7. Insidious - I've never seen the movies, I've been meaning to at least see the first one. Then again a haunted house thriller will likely translate well into a haunted house, so I'm happy to be pleasantly surprised.

    8. The Purge- Both of these movies were mediocre. But I thought it worked wonderfully in the streets last year. Beautifully chaotic. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised, and I'm hoping after once or twice going through that I start to see the environments of Woodsboro.

    9. The Walking Dead: The Living and the Dead - Yawn. Don't get me wrong I like the show. I like Zombies and they work in an environment like HHN. But it's just been done too many times before. I can see them trying to switch things up for the hardcore fans, and I appreciate the money this obviously brings into the event, but to me...meh.

I thought I would also take a moment to discuss Scare Zones. To me the street experiences are almost more important in determining the tone of the evening that the houses. And I think we have a great array of zones this year. There is not one of the list that I would consider a dud, and I'm very happy that roaming hordes are happening as well to pad the streets a bit.

    1. Evil's Roots - Call me a sucker for classic halloween. The construction pictures we've seen not only reminds me of Classic horror nights (the pumpkins) but smaller Hometown Halloween events from my childhood. I think I will linger in this zone as much as I possibly can!

    2. Psychoscarepy- Unleashed: The only thing that could have made this zone better is actually building the Shadybook facade outside. It would have been fun to see the inmates fresh out of their prison, with fences torn down etc. But I'm very happy with this idea, and once again turning it toward classic halloween makes it a winner in my eyes. I love the cheap dollar store looking halloween decorations, I'm hoping they bloody them up a bit though.

    3. All Night DIE in- Double Feature: Alternating Black and White and Color Sets, Classic movies monsters, What more could we want? My only fear is that it will turn into a second photo op zone as the original did at points during the night. But I also am happy with some of the photos I took in that zone, so I guess it's a double edged sword.

    4. Scary Tales - Screampunk: It took me a moment to realize it said SCREAMpunk and not STEAM punk. I hope the general public doesn't make that mistake. I love the Scary Tales franchise, It's a great year to bring that back. I'm hoping for a variety of different characters and a huge cast, but the production central zones usually have reletively small casts compared to the other zones. Maybe they will do some killer aestectics, or, (and I know it's a stretch) bring back our flying monkeys!

    5. Icons - HHN: Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for this zone. Once again I can't wait to share these characters with the newcomers, but it seems like another year, another photo op zone for hollywood. I hope there are enough characters around to keep my interest. Also, RAT LADY is back! I honestly didn't realize that she had gone until I stumbled across a photo of her a few months ago. What a great 25 year surprise!

Make sure to watch at least the first Insidious before you go! My wife and I love horror movies and it's definitely a top 5 favorite!

  7. HAHA I had a double shot espresso this morning ;)

Question for whomever. I usually hand out a "thing" each year for HHN (severed ear, voodoo chicken claw, button etc.). Seeing as I will only be there opening night would people still be interested in this? I mean you have to find me and, being as it's the only night, I'll be booking it to get all the houses.

You can just mail it to me Jeremy. It's cool. Nobody else wants it. >.>

  8. No offense, but you've attended the last two years. There's a very valid reason why people are complaining now.

There's not much to talk about until the event starts. At some point we'll have a reveal but we know everything entirely.

I might have only gone the last two years but that does not make me a rookie to HHN. I was born in Orlando. I grew up in Orlando. My family has been going to these events for a long time now. I've looked at plenty of discussions and speculation over the past few years. I love researching HHN and local haunts. I like watching videos of behind the scenes and walkthroughs. I HAVE A YEARNIN FOR LEARNIN BABY! I love talking to my uncle and sister who have gone to most of these events prior to me going. But most of all.... I get why you are complaining.

...But that does not make it any less annoying for other people to have to sift through to find the good discussions. You've voiced your discontent for how Universal is handling the situation and stated how you wish it could be fixed. End of story, there doesn't have to be 8 pages of whining and complaining after that. It makes people complain about your complaining and the whole damn thing starts all over again. Let's get back to the speculation or talk about what's going on right now. Everything isn't true until it's announced anyway.

  9. I love all you guys, but the negativity recently is really thick. I'm a glass half full type of guy and I will be happy with whatever happens.

More IP's with less original houses means Universal can more concentrate on the original houses because IP's have a fleshed out story with iconic scenes they don't have to create from scratch.

Think of the positives. Shit happens, man. Life goes on. HHN will be great. Bill & Ted will be most excellent.

The constant complaining really derails the normally great conversations here and drives people away from our great forum.

  10. No tan.. in fact he is fish belly white with blood up to his forearms... so that' the direction I'm going.

I was not aware of that! I'm familiar with the character, but I was always more of a RE/Dino Crisis fan when I was a kid so I never got into SH. Keep up the great work. It's already turning out awesome.

  11. 1.) Blizzard (I loved the idea behind Psychoscareapy: Home for the Hollidays)

2.) Insidious (Great movie, hope it's a good house)

3.) Run (Very hopeful for an amazing house)

4.) Anniversary House (A house with Jack is a house I'll like)

5.) AWiL (Loved this last year! Anxious to see where they go this year)

6.) FvJ (Movie was funny, it'll be a great jump house)

7.) Purge (Scarezone was good, have high hopes for the house)

    8.) Alice 3D (Meh)

    9.) TWD (Meh meh)

  12. I'm gonna slide my question in now since everyone is on and talking about Scream. Also can everyone quit throwing shade about this years HHN house sanafoo? It's one house and they will replace it if shit goes down. It's not going to effect your experience. You are still going to go. You are going to flipping love HHN regardless. /end rant

The last 2 years my wife and I have gone to HHN has been pretty busy. Last year we went on a Friday in early October. Lines got to the 2 hour mark about halfway through the night. Year before (23) we went on a Saturday near Halloween and of course the lines were pretty long. Main point being is that we've gotten all the houses done and B&T without Express the last couple years. My wife expressed (haha get it?) interest in possibly getting EP's this year. Well I just booked the vacay and luckily enough we plan to do HHN on Wednesday Oct 7th.

What are your guys thoughts? Should we skip on the EP since it's a Wednesday and should have lighter crowds?

I also just want to express (There it is again) my gratitude to all of you. You guys (Mostly Legacy) are the bomb and I really enjoy chatting every day with you. Here's to a great season, regardless of whatever happens.
