Late to the conversation, but one of the reasons this year's discussion feels more barren is probably because we had zero speculation to work with.

The only houses I felt were short are Ghost Town and TCM.

I'm ready for some reactions.

This is like... such a reach, but could there possibly be some Hamilton? I feel like it'd be pretty easy to incorporate that into a song and dance bit of the show.
There is!

I was recently speaking with a reliable source and he had mentioned something about #10 (referring to a house). #10 could be a code name but I think it would make sense with the price increases and the size of the event now. The only thing is I'm not sure if there are 10 permits.
Unless it's going to be a LT thing towards the end of the even there's no 10th house.

Orange, Osceola and Seminole (the 3 closest counties) all out Friday 10/14. I think I'll either skip 10/13 else stay holed up in Finns.
Osceola out again along with Polk on Monday 10/17, meaning Sunday 10/16--already bad--will probably be wall-to-wall as well.
Orange also out Friday 10/28, but I figure that Thursday/Friday to be packed already.
Lake is also off the 17th so that'll make matters even worse
Polk, Volusia, and Brevard have September 19th off which could mean no difference between Saturday and Sunday
Volusia is off Friday October 21; it's only one county so who knows how big the effect is

That TWD trailer makes me glad I stopped watching last year. Looks like more of the same aimless story telling of the last few years - I swear TWD doesn't need 16 episodes a season. There are far better TV shows to be paying attention to *cough* The Leftovers *cough*.
Liked for that Leftovers plug

FDTD had the issue of being too repetitive; after the first scene or two the sets were literally the same until the finale.

And with that, here's the current SPECULATION map. I know I say this every year but this is a map based on current SPECULATION and there is nothing official about it. As of right now the only confirmed house locations are Halloween, TCM and Cobwebs I believe. Scarezones will be added once we get some more information on them.
Nice design! However, Exorcist is going to be in SS22 (B) and TWD is probably in 24B based on the permits (D)

Maybe the unknown house is a Chance house?

In the permits we have been pondering this mysterious "urban design" group working on 24 b. Now we know it is in a sound stage it pretty much means it is in 24 a/b. B has the urban design bit. So that is the walls.
This throws a wrench in my info. this would push ... uh... announced IP... to new tent or shrek.. Which would make little sense. Unless we really aren't getting a new location.
do we need the tent/new parade building? We have 24 a, 24 b, 22. unnamed megahouse SS (assuming 25), Shrek, parade, tent 1 and 2, why couldn't 23 be used for the 9th house? Ah things got interesting again.
Isn't there already a permit for Tent 3?

If TWD has 12 scenes, I'd imagine it goes like this:
Scene 1: The Hospital
Scene 2: The Camp
Scenes 3: The Farm
Scene 4: The Governor's House
Scenes 5-6: The Prison
Scene 7: Supermarket
Scene 8: Forest Storm
Scene 9: Terminus
Scenes 10-11: Alexandria
Scene 12: The Saviors

Some thoughts on what I've missed out on the last few days:
On the point of a returning icon, i can see it happening for sure. On the last night of last year the usher wrote "see you in 2016-JB" implying that the usher may be back. This points me to the requelling being a Silver Screams 2. Same main character, different content. With the somewhat success/anticipation that was had for Krampus and the new Conjuring coming out it would make sense. I feel like both properties aren't big enough to make it their own house Silver Screams would be a perfect venue for it.
My thoughts on the Thing: I was disappointed by this house once before I wouldn't be crazy excited if it came back so soon. On one of the return IPs i would hope for a Psycho/Bates motel kind of thing. Universal has a good relationship with AMC, they have the rights to to the movie I believe, and theyve used Psycho as a house multiple times before. This would also explain the Norman Bates image drop on the HHN twitter account a couple weeks ago. I also agree that Halloween 2 is a too soon kind of return.
TWD: if it doesn't come back, but i expected to be "The expected", my next guess would be AHS (unfortunately) and as difficult it would be to acquire, it would bring the general public in something we know the walking dead has done.
Last but not least is the shall not be named in Shrek. My only thoughts are that it is an original. Shrek is too small of a small space to really bring an IP in there unless its something like a Krampus or Conjuring that wouldn't work in a bigger soundstage.
The Conjuring isn't big enough for its own house? Wut? Doesn't matter anyways since it was shot down.
Krampus might be the other house in SS24.
Aiello confirmed no Hitchcock.
TWD is "The Returning"
Nobody knows what's inside Shrek only that it's an original

SeventyOne on OU is heavily implying the megahouse is AHS. The unattainable IP got acquired, wow.

Ratings for The Walking Dead fell 10% this year. Everyone's starting to release its a pointless show with no end in sight.
I stopped watching it last year when I released how much material is left in the graphic novels - about another 7 seasons worth. Not wasting my time watching this garbage when there are so many better movies/television shows I have yet to see. I have friends who feel the same way, so I'm guessing this is the start of a fall out with the general public.
It's still the highest rated show on TV by a wide margin, when it stops being profitable it won't come back.
