  1. Jack's a Morphan. M&M is rather appropriate in pun and non pun form, don't you think? I was already mentally calling it that before I saw posts using that acronym. Morphans and candy are inseparable.
  2. The Shrek building is about 20,000 sqft. If the two theaters are of equal size and accounting for the retail space, the theater and preshow area for each is probably somewhere between 7,000 to 9,000 sqft. By comparison, the tents are only 40' X 120' (4,800 sqft). I don't think it will be as cramped we might initially think.
  3. Seeing the speculated longest lines list made me realize how spread out the 3 "big names" are. While TWD is near Insidious, it has the "buffer house" in between it and Insidious. The Purge may pull in some, but I don't think it will pull the same number of people that Scream would have. It's just not as iconic yet. We have 3 originals right in front. I like that. It should help disperse the crowds and maybe introduce the GP to how amazing originals can be. The only issue I forsee is Run all by its lonesome in San Fran. Will the promise of a scarezone be enough to get casual fans back into that area? You have the stage show that can draw people from NY directly to CP and the other three houses, and Diagon (a huge empty spot) stands between Fear Factor and San Fran. Again, the stage show could draw people from MiB/Kidzone. Now, while I am lamenting this potential crowd flow that may not push people toward San Fran, I'm also secretly relishing the potential. If San Fran doesn't pull in people, maybe Run could be pulsed! *grasps her delusion and runs from any logic reasons why it is insane*
  4. It was Inferno, I think. I remember watching it. I wonder what they'll use. Fabric? Trapeze? Spanish Web? I, personally, prefer the fabric. It's amazingly versatile and more visually appealing. On a side note, my daughter's circus arts school does an annual Halloween show. The show is always fascinating and the music chosen for the routines is definitely Halloweeny! It will be interesting to compare what the professionals due with a Halloween theme.
  5. As long as you are in the park before closing, you can still have a small head start on the event. You can do Stay and Scream with an annual pass and a valid HHN ticket. There is a Stay and Scream near Finnegans. There was also one near Lucy last year, and I believe there is one in Kidzone after the annual passholder weekends.
  6. Experiencing 3D is no longer an option for me, this is why I'm glad Alice is getting the treatment. The requirements for 3D are perfect for the theme, and not being able to experience the effect shouldn't hamper my ability to enjoy the house.
  7. Back in the beginning of the year, I found a permit for new air handlers for SS24. Maybe the location of this house is why and maybe it will help control the environment of the two seperate house better?
  8. The costumes of the inmates should be interesting. The thing that comes to mind for me is the leg lamp in Home for the Holidays. The inmates made their own leg lamp. I'm guessing they will make their own costumes from whatever is handy. We are talking about mentally unstable individuals. Face masks made from faces. "Fake" blood made from real blood. Pieces of this costume and that costume to make their own. Pieces of this person and that person...
  9. Considering my 9 yr old daughter is currently taking aerial dance, I look forward to seeing what they do. I'll probably have to record the show for her to see.
  10. In case anyone else notices or the info starts going around and being misconstrued. Street props are currently being packed up. Don't panic. We have a tropical storm headed our way (for all the out-of-towners) and they are just trying to keep them safe. Landfall (if it hits) is suspected to be around Monday.
  11. My most anticipated house. I love the throwback to the original Run. With the Canadian reference, I do have to wonder if each Reaper's room will be themed. If that is case, it's even closer to the Running Man (at least the movie version. It's been forever since I read the book and far too many King novels in between). I'm truly holding out delusional hope for pulsing in this house. I can't help it. I'd love to recapture my original experience of Run.
  12. @HorrorNightsORL: The Collectors are going to invade Shadybrook in the late 1800's... They had to get their crazed assistants from someplace right? The inmates may not be the only victims. When we think of Shadybrook, we think of its inmates, but the inmates were the aggressors. The victims were the staff. As Mike pointed out, "They had to get their crazed assistants from someplace right?" I think we need to stop viewing this as a versus and view it as a collaborative effort.
  13. Do you mean it's back to its original entrance?
  14. It's not really an odd contrast if one considers that Halloween stems from Celtic traditions and Fae (faeries) are a huge part of Celtic Mythology.
  15. And Gothic, Catacombs, and Winter's Night weren't too random? Catacombs was set in France Gothic was set it France(?). Winter's Night had a set month of October. Which is autumn not fall, and snow rarely falls. Is the feeling of randomness is related to the time jump between the house and scarezones? To highlight the Collectors, and as Mike stated on Twitter, to show how the Collectors gain their insane assistants, a time jump is necessary. Everty time we've encountered the Collectors we've experienced some form of reality shift. They were in Terra Cruentas (their home world) in 05. They were in 1888 London in 08. This time they will be in Seneca Falls, NY circa 1880(?). All that has been definitively said is late 1800's for the timeframe. It doesn't seem random to me for other worldly creatures to create a temporal/dimensional shift.
  16. This is from the blog: " RUN: Blood, Sweat and Fears Congratulations! You’ve been selected to be one of the lucky contestants on RUN, the most popular and brutal television show in the world. In this house, you’ll have to try and avoid the skilled assassins known as Reapers as you work through “death obstacles” designed to mangle and shred—all for the amusement of the audience watching from home. And good news: the now run-down Hellgate Prison has been selected as the battleground. Good luck!"
  17. My most anticipated zone. I've wanted dark faeries at HHN for a very long time. The title and theming of this zone make me wonder if this is one of the zones we lost to TWD in 2013.
  18. This!!! I love this!! Dark faery ftw!!
  19. I still have my chicken claw!! My daughter thinks it's cool. It's currently hanging out on a shelf with my Xenomorph Christmas ornament. I'd definitely be interested in something, but I can't guarantee that I'll be there opening night now. My husband got a jury duty notice for that Wednesday. We are going to have to wait and see if he gets stuck on a jury or not.
  20. 07 - scarezones weren't really there, but Troupe Macabre was in CP and I don't remember any major issues. I also went on a rather empty night. Did all the houses twice except for two which I did three times. I went on a Saturday. So, there was definitely a difference in crowd levels then. 06 - My first time back after missing 04 & 05. I was very focused on the houses and getting them all done. (I only had one night). I enjoyed the show because Darkness. I love Darkness. Harvest of Souls was in CP and I don't remember the show effecting the scarezone.
  21. Oddly, I do recognize it. Elements of it. Scarecrow style head. I think we've had several scarecrow style scareactors through the years. The jar lantern is reminiscent of the one carried by the Headless Horseman in 2008 mixed with the jar lights from Bayou last year. And a dash of the Trees from Amercian Gothic in 08.
  22. I tweeted about scareactor concept reminding me of Crowe and tagged Mike in the tweets. He favorited them. I don't know if that means it was inspired by that lost icon, or he just appreciated that I remembered the story, but I wanted to let you all know!
  23. Run or Purge could fit. Leaning toward Run since most of the imagery seems to be for the unannounced houses.
  24. That last tweet of the Pumpkin person... It was vaguely familiar and I thought that was due to previous pumpkinheads. But it wasn't!! The vines plus the pumpkinhead reminds of the icon story Mike shared at Halloween Extreme, Crowe. I truly hope they were able to rework that icon and finally use the image they had in some way.
  25. I actually love the crazy interaction. The use of peon, vassal, fool seems completely in character to me. I use those terms myself. I also like using the word plebs. Short for plebeian. It's a common trait portrayed in horror for "maniacs" to view others as lesser. And this is a "cult" type of situation. And at least it's something. I've given up hope for truly in depth back stories. I'll take what I can get. (And the Morphan in me loves the unpredictable nature of it all)
