  1. Agreed. This is only what they have announced so far. In my opinion, this virus scare tosses everything up in the air. The travel and theme park industry is going to be rocked by this to be certain. No telling how long it will take for things to settle or what they will do to lure people if ticket sales are just not there. Five months doesn't seem like a long way away at this point, given all that is going on. I want nothing more than to have people repost this in June saying "Can you believe this idiot was worried about HHN back then?"
  2. I hope we don't see Stranger Things again... Never saw Sabrina. The only Netflix based show I'd be interested in is Haunting of Hill House
  3. 2011 was a FANTASTIC year - one of the best ever in my opinion. While Lady Luck was not a very memorable icon, the way she was weaved into all of the houses was very cool. The In Between was easily the best 3D house I've been in anywhere in the country. Saws & Steam backstory was described very well above. The final room was very close to that of Depths, but there was a waterfall separating you from the baddie ahead of you. In S&S, the costume was reminiscent of Big Daddy, and he came charging through the waterfall at you. Winter's Night was every bit as beautiful as Graveyard Games (which is my new GOAT) Forsaken was loosely based on The Fog, but was epic in scale, with a massive shipwreck in the middle of it. Nevermore was a Poe fan's nirvana. HR Bloodengutz was a great blend of comedy and horror, served with a side of 'memberberries. And 2011 was where Nightingales began, with the location being the trenches in WWI. 2011 was the last time HHN had overwhelmingly original houses. The pendulum swung hard to IP in 2012 and it took a long time to get back to even a 50/50 split.
  4. Most us were super happy with the Saws N Steam house, going so far as to call the final scareactor "Big Daddy". Not to mention the art deco feel of the facade. If that's as close as we ever get, I'll be happy with it. I never quite got a Bioshock feel from the end of Depths.
  5. Ah, but you chose a potato sack over a flour sack. Marketing at play!
  6. It's February. What else is there to talk about in regard to HHN? Oh! I know! Do you think HHN will have a no-alcohol night this year? ** ** First one that responds as if that was a serious question is gonna get it. Don't make me pull this car over...
  7. I wouldn't say they do nothing. We got that cool sweepstakes after the countdown timer expired in 2017. Yee Haw!
  8. Since Legacy mentions "whispers"... TwoTonTick told me that Hollywood reopening TWD attraction for HHN this year is only the beginning. HHN 30 will once again be All Walking Dead - this time all 10 houses. A Walking Dead house centered around the Governor A Walking Dead house centered around the Wolves A Walking Dead house centered around Gareth and Terminus A Walking Dead house centered around Negan A Walking Dead house centered around Jadis and the Scavengers A Walking Dead house centered around the Whisperers A Fear the Walking Dead house centered around the Vultures A Fear the Walking Dead house centered around Martha and Logan A Fear the Walking Dead house centered around the Settlers A Walking Dead: World Beyond house based on the newly announced spinoff And Billie Eilish will provide music for all ten houses. Let's see if this mess wakes up the board...
  9. Want some wild speculation? Check out the HHN 365 podcast (latest episode). They took all the rumors we have heard, categorize them (probable, possible, won't happen), and created a speculation map. It is really out there, but so is all the speculation. I wouldn't mind that. It was quite a fun scarezone. I'd be happy if the LED chainsaws did not reappear. I thought those were incredibly dumb.
  10. It's just becoming a zombie meet & greet in March - The Secret Life of Walkers. I was surprised to see it will reopen for HHN, but why not? It's a freebie for HHN. Wouldn't be surprised if they just cover the helicopter with scrim until then. Last weekend (President's weekend) it was closed every 90 min, and lines never topped 30 min when the rest of the park was slammed. I really don't know what they would do with this location come December. They did Chicken Run once, so why not some sort of Minions fun house?
  11. Creepshow was "OK" in Hollywood. It was one of those that I think Orlando would pull off much better. Hollywood's had so many static figures. Not enough actors. And the ones they did have were all in those stupid-ass strobe box scares. Over. And. Over. I can most easily picture it going into the MIB location.
  12. That is definitely Creepshow. And that would be the most obvious clue yet from Ifrit. Howvever, I don't see how you can put The Raft into a house. Like at all.
  13. I heard it was Legacy, but I can't find where he mentioned it. can you share, please?
  14. Universal has a deal on a 4 night stay during HHN. There are no discounts for HHN yet for UOAP holders. Given that we now know the dates for HHN 30, now is a great time to lock in a stay at a premium hotel. Cost to reserve the room is 1 night stay, refundable if you cancel more than a week out. For instance, I have reserved Portofino for Week 2 of HHN and Hard Rock for Week 3, and will cancel one once my flights are solidified. And of course as we get close I will continually check AP rates, but chances are they will be much higher than this. NOTE: As a reference, the rates below for HHN 30 so far are better than rates for HHN 29 were as of 4/8/19. Snapshot of rates as of 2/7/20 (Hotel-only rates; these do not include park tickets or transportation): 5 night stay, arriving 9/16 (Week 2 of HHN): <-- The week of very good deals (excluding Sapphire, which is way too expensive) Portofino: $276 per night <-- This is an excellent rate for HHN! Royal Pacific: $309 per night Hard Rock: $284 per night <-- This is an excellent rate for HHN! Sapphire Falls: $227 per night Cabana Bay: $128 per night <-- This is an excellent rate for HHN! 15. HHN 30 Number of Houses, Scarezones, Shows As was the case in 2019, the Universal HHN website has a menu section called "Haunted Houses & More" In this section they show "Coming Soon" boxes. Last year, contents for these boxes appeared as Universal made HHN announcements. This year's boxes are as follows: Haunted Houses: 10 boxes Scarezones: 5 boxes Attractions: 7 boxes Live Entertainment: 2 boxes Merchandise and Dining: 2 boxes HHN 30 Dates Universal HHN website now officially shows all 40 dates on their calendar Frequent Fear Plus (Source: UK Tickets for 2020 are on sale as of 2/8/20) UK tickets also are offering a BOGO deal. BOGO or GA Ticket: 70 GBP ($90 USD) NOTE: As of 3/10, The US HHN website shows BOGO tickets for $84.99 USD (but no FFP options) Image below is my markup of the official calendar FFP = Frequent Fear PLUS admitted on this night HHN House Locations Permits have been filed for 5 house locations MIB Tent (was House of 1000 Corpses in 2019) Sprung Tent 1 (Nightingales: Blood Pit in 2019) Sprung Tent 2 (Depths of Fear in 2019) B79 (Graveyard Games in 2019) SS23A (not used since 2011 - was either Nightingales: Blood Prey or The Thing) - If used, SS23B would have its own permit
  16. Perhaps they can pump in the smell of teenage angst. I actually did hear this over the weekend. Wanna hear part 2 of the rumor? HHN Hollywood will be getting a Billie Eilish HOUSE. Rumor continues that Orlando design team resisted an Orlando house, and was told to incorporate her in some way. Hence, the lagoon show. Another Hollywood-related rumor: the year round Walking Dead attraction will CLOSE permanently on March 3. Again, just a rumor. TWD is immediately adjacent to the new Secret Life of Pets ride that will open in spring. TWD also typically has very short waits times and is closed every 90 minutes for cast breaks (only one cast).
  17. Not sure how they could transition timelines effectively, but sure.
  18. The 80's was my 20's so I personally loved it. Would prefer a new icon for 30, but wouldn't be disappointed if they did a third round of 80's. A 70's theme might be cool for today's generation. I couldn't really imagine any other generational theme being too much fun other then 80's and 70's.
  19. I made some tweaks, hopefully for the better. I couldn't not mention Bill & Ted...
  20. It's really dead around here... My boredom got me thinking: what would it take for you to SKIP HHN 30? I mean, what lineup could they present that did everything so wrong that you would opt out? Here's my line-up of mashups that should never happen and things that are better left unseen: Houses: Caretaker Presents: Fear the Walking Dead Experience "Generation Z" as it began. But watch out for the icon that is always ready to make your end come sooner. WWE Presents: The Fiend's Awesome Funhouse Take a journey as The Miz into the twisted mind of The Fiend. 21. I think most of us would choke on recalling trivia if we were hosting a podcast. Most of those guys are madly looking up the answer on a laptop while they are vamping. My short term memory is pure crap, and I failed to recall Vanity Ball several times during conversations with friends. I resorted to "where Chucky was last year". Partially because it was a far better scarezone.
