OMG GUYS! 100% legal behind the scenes construction footage of Halloween!! http://youtu.be/WrfE394-EzA
from 2009
Still cool tho
-
If the video hadn't got taken down I'd have been torn between seeing awesome behind the scenes footage of the maze and not having it spoiled for me. Glad that choice was made for me.
-
What did he say on twitter that leads you to believe that?
Yeah I've been debating on whether or not to get FOTL or wait for something to happen with VIP.
Between VIP @ HHN and Trapped @ Knott's not coming back I'm a bit bummed this year!
-
The way Murdy is talking on twitter makes it sound like something else is coming in place of VIP. I wish he would say what it was so that people don't just buy GA instead.
-
no not at all
Really? How long were they?
-
No, all you need is the HHN ticket, and one person needs a AP and can take 5 friends. The catch is you can only get in at 5pm and mazes don't open till 7:00 but it's a great way to get the rides done early and be first in line for the backlot
If I have a group of more than 5 people but 2 of them have annual passes, does it still work? I mean worst case scenario we can just split up into 2 groups until we're through the gates but still.
-
I think it would work best if the Lower Lot ends up being the early entry zone. It seems to be the hub of this years event and if they want to keep crowds down in that area they're going to need to do something, and I think early access would probably work.
How did early access work out last year, with there being 3 mazes on the backlot? Were the lines still short?
-
I was able to do the AP First Stab last year because my friend and his girlfriend were AP holders but you can only get 5 people in per Annual Pass.
Do they each have to have their own daytime ticket as well, or as long as one person has an AP the rest can just have an HHN ticket?
-
I'm hoping for the 26th, but I'll let you know officially once my tickets are bought.
-
Thanks for all of the advice everyone!
Also, I took 2 friends last year and they were able to go down to the backlot early with me because I was a pass holder and they weren't. I did get the discount tickets for them though. Was that a fluke? Or will I be able to do the same this year with a group of 12?
Well it depends, was it for the AP early access? Because afaik you had to be inside the park lined up next to Transformers for that. General public still got early access, just slightly later.
Also, Murdy says he doesn't know if the AP extra early access is coming back this year, but if it is we'll be emailed about it.

There's actually legal issues with the Conjuring series right now and I believe it has more to do with that. It's possible the sequel might not even come next year.
Care to elaborate?

Bro. I had costume (Monday 8/17) fitting upstairs up two flights of stairs with a woman sitting to my left when I walked in. There was a "U-shaped" couch with two other small couches in the far part of the room. Hanging divider to my right which had about 4, maybe 5 fitting rooms behind them. The end of the hallway, of fitting rooms, had a small room to the left which had Universal staff making sure everything fit right. Need any more confirmation? No hard feelings. I've seen how it gets on here. Thank you! I feel like I belong now! Haha
I'm not a scareactor so there's no way to confirm what you're saying but the amount of detail makes me believe you

Not attending, but my anticipation for videos at least
1. This is the End 3D-Out of sheer curiosity. This has potential to be unique and amazing.
2. Crimson Peak- REALLY wish Orlando got this, it looks gorgeous.
3. Insidious- Been wanting an Insidious house for 4 years, excited to see how each coast's versions compare.
4. Halloween- Orlando's house in 2014 was amazing, I'd expect this one to be too.
5. AvP- QUEEN
6. TWD- I've yet to look forward to a TWD maze.
Zones:
1. Exterminatorz- This sounds AWESOME
2. Corpz
3. Dark Christmas- This looked wonderful last year
4. Purge- Fun as hell in Orlando, I'd expect the same in a bigger setting in Hollywood.
I like how you're still looking forward to your least anticipated scarezone. Even though there's only 4, they all look like they're gonna kick ass!

Does anybody know why at most other theme park haunts you have to be 16 to be a scareactor but for HHN you have to be 18?
-
Off topic here but is there a page on these forums here to talk about Fright Fest? I'm probably going to that too this year but I want to know if it's any good.
-
I think they're extending SZ 1. Idk how far, though.
I could maybe see them extending it to the end of the plaza, but it would be kinda weird. Theres not much scenery down that way
-
I'm so disappointed to see this on the Metro streets. I love the idea of having purge as The Terror Tram OR the metro streets but not both. That's just creatively lazy and is obviously just done to save money by making the cheap masks and generic clothing.
It's pretty much a mini Terror Tram. I agree though, one or the other is fine, but both is weird.

Do you think it's time to start an Event Planning thread?

It's technically going to be spoiled for us when we go to Scare Academy, a la Dracula last year.
They should just show you guys an advanced screening of the movie first.
-
Well the aforementioned, but now deleted, character is in the trailer and is their icon, so...
but yeah, I was worried about that too. Might hold off on going through it until I see the movie.
I mean you can post it for people who don't mind spoilers but just use the tag. I'll still go through it before I see the film, because I have no other choice, but I desperately hope there aren't spoilers.
-
^That almost seems like a spoiler for the film. I'm worried that if I go through the maze there will be spoilers, since the movie comes out during HHN.

Running the reptilian illuminati new world order
I've said too much
I, for one, welcome our new reptile overlords.

By comparing the sizes of the tents in Photoshop, I can say that the new maze is approximately 1.5 times the size of Insidious. That's pretty big.
