  1. I refuse to watch the Insidious video. Does it look better than the 2013 incarnation?

I say yes. It doesn't really show many Further scenes but the normal house scenes look all new, and better than 2013 imo.

welp...I've spoiled about half the event for myself as well.  At least these aren't walkthroughs under show conditions i.e. not giving away scare spots.

I agree, at least I won't know where the scares are coming from. I just know what some of the rooms look like.

  2. That's when you're lined up, not when you're let in. Most likely we'll be on the lower lot at 6:45, which will hopefully be enough time to get two mazes done. But also, I'm imagining they'll let people head to the backlot on the trams as well, get in lines for AVP and Crimson, just not let them in until 7. Which may also mean people will line up for This Is The End before it opens as well.

I don't know, this idea just seems like EVERYTHING gets crowded at once now. I'm worried :-/

I honestly don't know if I can make a fail-proof game plan this year, guys.

    ALL BETS ARE OFF!!!

I'm glad I won't be going to opening weekend. I think we should have a good idea of the crowds after that.

  3. I have a crazy idea...

    The Walking Dead first

Then go line up for the trams to the backlot to be the first over there (I mean, it all depends how EARLY this entry is this year)

AVP and Crimson Peak in one sweep

Come back and do This Is The End while that line is building

Wait in a long line for Insidious

Terror Tram, Halloween, Jabawokeez to end the night

Website says early entry starts at 5, doesn't mention AP. I think I'd rather do TWD and Insidious while the lines are still short.

  4. ^^Nice summary...would love to see Back in Business brought back just to compare with the original.  Ah, but look forward to what is actually occurring this year and already started my "homework" by watching Halloween and This is the End again on Bluray.

I've been trying to do this but so far the only movie I haven't seen yet is Insidious 3 (and Crimson Peak of course) but you can't find it anywhere. It comes out on DVD after I will be attending and its not in theaters anymore.

  5. HOLY CRAP! Someone sent me a snap of Terror Tram construction! A black tent has been seen in front of Bates Motel so there will be a mini maze we will go through. Can't believe I'm saying this but Terror Tram is going to ROCK this year.

Did you screenshot it? You better have screenshotted it.

How "mini" are we talking? are we talking like the 2 room shacks we went through in previous years, or a full on 4-6 room house?

Also, will it make up for no HoH overlay? (Not hard to top imo but still)

  6. honestly when I went there were too many blank wall that they did not even try to cover up especially in the grave robbing scene to me it even felt like it was too lazy even for knotts and only two SA were on their game the leather face in the mosulium and the one in the bone furniture room (he broke character but still was great) other then that I didn't like it one bit but I could been comparing it too much to BIB but ehhh

I never experienced BIB but when I went through SitL the guy in the dining room was so intense it made the maze for me. Then again, it was literally my first haunted house ever, so there could be some bias there.

  7. I think he's saying the facade has those extended black walls for a projected effect.

Thats totally plausable. This year will be utilizing a lot of cool new effects. And then remembering back to what John said about Halloween having a paranormal feel. Perhaps they are planning to have something flying around or maybe creepy foliage or the like.

Ugh hate how tight lipped Universal can be sometimes. The hype is real lol. Being a scareactor, I still don't know much of what to expect this year. Lol I don't even know what my character looks like lol.

I think people keep forgetting that the black wall is not even with the facade. The facade is 2-3 feet in front of the black wall. It's possible that there could be a projection on it, but it's harder to project onto black than onto white, so I don't think that's what it's for. They may still do a projection on the main facade though, I'm pretty sure John said something about Judith's death being in the window.

  8. Just watched a couple of maze walk-thrus from 2012. I remember us complaining a bit about the lackluster line-up. Compare it to ours this year, and here's we got vs. what we should get.

    2012:

    -6 Mazes.

    -1 Overlay (Remix)

-1 Repeat (With a few new scenes) [La Llorona]

-2 brand new mazes [TWD and SH]

-2 returning themes with different look/layout. One being a crappy last-minute replacement. [TCM & AC:GTH]

    -Terror Tram

    2015:

    -6 mazes.

-2 brand-new themes [Crimson Peak, TITE]

    -Complete Repeat [AVP]

-3 returning themes with different look/layout [Insidious, Halloween, and TWD]

    -Potentially good Terror Tram?

I expect this year to be even better than 2012 and certainly 2013, at least as far as house content goes. I think this year could surprise us.

I'm actually excited because I think this year is going to take us all by surprise. I think we're expecting something mediocre but will get something great
