  1. Can we get some context for the house's appearance in the episode though? How long was it on screen, did they mention anything specific about it?

Also, keep in mind that we've already seen props from Insidious sitting outside the maze. If this is Blumhouse, that likely means Insidious isn't coming as its own maze.

Was The Mummy reboot not on the leaked list? I can't remember if it was but from what's in the trailers, it looks like it could have maze material or possibly make a good maze plus it's a Universal Property so how the hell isnt it coming this year.

If Insidious gets crammed into the Blumhouse of Horrors, The Mummy might make a good replacement.

How does nobody understand that this is not a last minute replacement. The Conjuring hadn't even come close to starting construction. John has enough Time to design a maze based off of The Thing and not have to change Conjuring sets into Thing sets. We still have 4 months until September so this is far from a last minute change

And worst case scenario he can re-use scene treatments from 2011 if he's running short on time. I'm sure it will turn out to be a great maze, and honestly I'm glad we have one less paranormal house.

Exorcist was already up and running before the shit hit the fan.

The sadly misguided and misinformed Ron Thomas and the organization he has sided with went against the easiest target - The FearVR attraction at Knott's.  The media obediently reprinted the lies regarding what was in the attraction - based on things Ron "heard about" but never saw for himself.  Knott's backed down, and this emboldened the offense, who LATER said if they had their way, Universal wouldn't do half the houses they do, and movies that contained those themes would be removed from society (find the John and Ken interview with Ron to hear it for yourself).

Essentially, this small group threw down the gauntlet at the foot of Universal last year.  They won a huge victory for their side, and got national exposure.  You seriously think that Universal Hollywood - who banned B&T show after ONE person was offended, banned the Purge auctioneer, then neutered the whole "ringmaster" role altogether - would suddenly grow a set of balls and stand up for Asylum?  Not unless the AHS contract called for AHS production company to foot the legal bills...

I'll go one further and make another prediction - this year or next, the go-go dancers at Universal will be the new target.  Because "rape culture".  Or something.  Get them while they're hot, so to speak, because they will be gone soon enough.

Tbh I wouldn't really mind if the go-go dancers disappeared. They seem a bit out of place to me. I don't actively want them to leave, I just wouldn't really care if they did.

  5. I haven't had time to read all the posts yet and this is the first time I've been on the forum since the event, but I think that Resident Evil 7 could make a great maze, and in my mind it seems likely. Murdy has been saying he's already started picking properties, and since RE is coming out this month it would make sense if it were on his radar. Also, there's going to be an escape room in London based on the game, so it's clearly possible to make a maze out of it. Don't know if Murdy would be willing to try out video game IPs again but if he is, this would be a good one to attempt.

  6. Honestly, I feel like there is no in between for The Exorcist. It will either be terrible or amazing.

Unrelated, but I did notice that in one of the last few rooms there appears to be some rock work. Anyone know what this could be? Because I can't think of anything, unless they go to Iraq at the end of the maze.

As I am going twice I would like to see the opening at least once. For early entry, would the mazes be in broad daylight or would they still be dark inside? And does any one know what mazes will be open for early entry this year?

They're usually still pretty light inside, especially in rooms that are on the edge of the tent. Not light enough to ruin the experience, though.
