  1. Mine is 90% of this forum's wishlist earlier in this thread.
  2. You should put up all versions of past websites you have, please.
  3. I wouldn't watch the show - just do the house so you don't know what to expect first.
  4. Given that I'm not the only one who shares my views currently and general frustration is generally widespread you may want to re-evaluate that. And your other comments were dumb bait so I'm going to avoid getting another warning point on this forum.
  5. You get upset over reading criticsm about an event unrelated to you? Might want to step away from the Internet. That said, you're wrong. Personally, and these people are not people like us, my girlfriend stopped going, my father stopped going, my brother stopped going, my cousin and uncle stopped going, and a friend stopped going. No one else replaced them in my circle. You may say, "Well others replaced them," which may be true, but that's lost customers for them. And for me I spend way less than I used to.
  6. I still don't agree. If he's passionate he'd love sharing his work, hence why he did his own signed tweets in recent years.
  7. Disagree. It would take him a milisecond to snap a picture and tweet it. It's probably a control issue Corporate has now.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a shake up next year in this regard. This is the loudest people have been annoyed by it.
  9. Thanks for embracing the ideas and providing critiques! I am thinking a "dust storm" set in the Kansas plains, another room will have a hurricane come through, another has a tornado, another volcao, another etc etc. Probably logistically a nightmare to build, but hey it's an idea Or, if they can't do the effects, simulate it with screens and have the set pieces react appropriately.
  10. Appreciate y'all sharing both sides here May agree and disagree with some things said, but let's get back to no information to speculate on as per usual
  11. There's a huge difference between teasers like they used to do in the older sites versus "Oh, hey zero build up and boom here's a generic reveal." I'm actually not a fan of bringing back identical scenes from the past. Never have been. IPs we know exactly what's coming. Hence why few IPs get stellar reviews (only ones I know of that were raved are AWIL, Halloween 1, NOES). Massive difference between their older sites with teaser audio/images/video and interactive storytelling versus generic, low thought social media "bait" sharing. Just because they do something new doesn't mean it's good. Most people who don't want Jack, I guarantee, also don't want AoV back. I was never excited by it in the first place. The VR thing seemed like a boardwalk-gimmick upcharge garbage from the very beginning. Another house is preferred. I solely go so I don't miss out on a year. But I promise you I've spent dramatically less money than in the past. Food and alcohol is way down, merchandise is way down, I don't do any VIP stuff, never book Express passes, never stay onsite anymore. Same with others I know, and that's of those who still go. When I'm no longer the sole vocal voice of notable criticism and criticism is seen on other sites and on social media then perhaps there's some merit to the entire argument. But, of course, because Oyster is "offended" because he doesn't like criticism and prefers circlejerking the event to no end then he won't see the above.
  12. I don't think it's hard to find new material. Here's one: * Do a house that's based on electronics, electricity, circuits, mechanisms (think winding gears of clocks) Here's another: * Do a house based on many types of severe weather Here's another: * Do a house based on large, giant fictional creatures (not aliens necessarily) Here's another: I think those three are awesome. And it took a milisecond for me to think of these.
  13. Another thing Marketing fails to consider is that perception affects outcome. Lots of us are going into this event lukewarm at best. If you have a perception a product will suck it's going to negatively impact your enjoyment.
  14. I, too, enjoy Marketing's (in)ability to stretch a concept across all IPs.
  15. 100% not going two nights this year, and I'm saving alcohol / food money for another event in the FL area. Zero merchandise from me, either. Shit, looking at Hollywood's takes on the same IPs last year they did a MUCH better job.
  16. You made me realize something worse. Let's just say The Purge is NOT coming. Now the fan base which is talking negatively about the event will be seen speaking negatively on the internet about it. Bad PR. This is what happens when morons run marketing and leave a self-indulgent person to leave wild, perhaps baseless, speculation take over.
  17. Think about how disjointed this year seems "thematically": The 'Soul Collectors' are here to harvest your souls, and btw here's Jigsaw, The Purge, The Shining... what? I don't blame Michael Roddy for leaving.
  18. If that's the case I seriously have zero hope for this event anymore. How fucking embarrassing.
  19. Here's one idea - Ifrit sucks and is arrogantly self-stroking.
  20. Welps one of the two cool ideas speculated for the year is gone.
