  1. No idea. I hope he doesn't.

But I'll throw some speculation into the mix. Last year the first hint Murdy gave (Dante's Inferno) was in reference to Alice Cooper Goes to Hell. This year the first hint he gave was a Queen of Hearts, which is commonly associated with Alice in Wonderland. It would make sense that the first confirmed maze could be the end of the Alice Cooper trilogy. Since Murdy said the third maze would be the most complex, recreating an Alice Cooper style Wonderland would be pretty complex. Especially if they were working under the premise that this was the final chapter in a series of original concept mazes so they really had to make it something special.

Or it could be a total red herring.

  2. Second hand story.

Coworker is at HHN and sitting down in a chair. Scareactor jumps out and startles her so she gets up and starts running. Now the problem is that her purse got caught on the chair. Now in her moment of panic she didn't think "oh my purse is stuck on a chair" she thought "OH GOD THEY ARE GRABBING ONTO ME!"

Not going to be bothered to look back or anything like that, she drags a chair while screaming. Somebody pointed out her error to her. She's never gone back.

  3. IPs

Creepshow (with giant comic book covers you walk through as you go between stories. Father's Day would be especially worthwhile. I have no idea how the Something to Tide You Over scene would work but then again, this is a thread about dream mazes. )
Sleepaway Camp (One of my favorite slasher series. Would be cool to see Angela grow up over the years and have the kills get progressively more brutal.)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 (Or hey, this might happen. They already did the TCM remake and a maze based on the original, so this is worth a shot. I'd love to go face to face with a Chop Top or two. That being said, the park has had enough Leatherface.)
Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. BEETLEJUICE. (Giant puppet sandworms? Yes.)
Dario Argento tribute (Black gloves and blades for all!)
Lucio Fulci tribute (Cat in the Brain even features a chainsaw)
Arkham Asylum/Batman villains (Arkham outbreak could be a good terror tram. Have a video of Scarecrow saying he's releasing a cloud of fear gas into the backlot. Have guests get off the tram into a very thick cloud of fog. After that is a series of nightmareish Arkham inmates and famous super villains. Or a 3D maze with the same gimmick?)

    Bands:
Mayhem/Early Norwegian black metal scene (Dead's suicide, Euronymous' murder. Pagan rituals. Stuff like that)
    Ghoul.
    Gwar.

  4. Wow. That's a pretty scary looking maze.

As for literature, HP Lovecraft could be an interesting challenge. Not sure how big HP Lovecraft is outside of the horror nerd community, but I think the stuff that would in theory be used (Herbert West re-animating the dead, Innsmouth fish people, massive Cthulhu statue with cultists looking for a sacrifice) would be creepy without knowing the full story behind them.

  5. If they can get the rights to American Horror Story it would be a huge hit. It would be a change up for sure since they are likely going to do another Walking Dead and then that would be two separate TV IPs, and WD was the first ever TV IP. But it certainly hits Murdy's criteria. Any fan of the show can think of a few very memorable scenes and a wide variety of terrifying characters.
