  1. I actually don't see that being much of a stretch. Good connections, Mysti. I honestly don't mind a La Llorona house; I mean the story is creepy. It's just the fact that I feel this is being forced upon us again. But if A&D really wants to do a La Llorona house, then that's a different story. It's like the IPs of last year, IPs aren't bad, but there has to be passion in their execution. A&D should want to do them. That would ease my apprehension. So, I just hope that whatever IPs we get, they are not forced upon Orlando. I'm not a person with connections or mysterious sources, so I have no idea what's going on now...but I hope it's what I said...but it might not. Just give us some damn good scary houses and a damn good scary year.

  3. I really didn't want to believe that the answer to this was Disney or Orlando's friendly attitude. But, I remembered some old YouTube videos I had watched that had to do with billboard controversy, and now after re-watching them, Mysti (and others who mentioned it) are in fact correct. Living in Orlando (about 20 minutes from the parks) and also being a student, you really sometimes forget that you're in the tourist capital. Anyways, here are the videos. This first one is absolutely pathetic, and the YouTube channel name is "ChangeBillboard"...give me a break. I couldn't find the original one of this video, but it was re-uploaded by horrornightsarchives. I think a lot of people remember this story. God forbid if another controversy like this happens. It's a shame Universal has to worry about problems like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7oVJlNSdGA It's a shame that the family-friendly mantra is a reason the event is being held back. BUT, at least it's not all bad. A family made a response video to the second video listed, and it's quite hilarious and awesome. The father even states, "I guess that soccer mom was wrong." Classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpxJtB-Yv4c *Sorry for the lack of proper speculation in this post, but I just had the urge to post it.
  4. Did I really just wish for a house that depicted intense scenes of children being drowned? Please excuse me as I go question my morals.
  5. Okay, you answered my question. I was wondering if they actually depicted the scene to a wide magnitude and they did. I'm sure at night it's pretty effective, but I agree with Dr. D, it's not disturbing enough. It would be really bad-ass if they actually showed the kids being drowned, but that would be too much for a lot of people...and I'm not aware of a dummy that would actually look real enough to pull that off. Could you imagine a scene like that with just a standard baby doll, that would be hilarious. Though, if a scareactor just keeps the dummy submerged and yells/cries/struggles or whatever, then that would be satisfactory to me, and of course you at least have to be able to make out a figure of a child in the water and be able to understand what's going on. But if we are getting a La Llorona house or something similar involving children, I'd like it to be dark, intense, and push the envelope. Which brings us back to HHN needing to grow a set. (Unless they don't want to do something so dark like that in light of a real life tragedy, that's understandable). But if that's no the case, then come on!
  6. Some people brought up how they first found out about La Llorona. I didn't find out about the legend until I watched this very well done short horror film on it. It's worth the watch. Also, how graphic or suggestive does the Hollywood house get on the topic?
  7. I don't mind a house based around children, drowning, or some parent-children relation, but I certainly don't want it to be Mama, and I'm a bit iffy towards La Llorona. Another thing that this reminded me of was Shutter Island. *Spoilers if you have not seen the movie* Well, in Shutter Island, Leonardo Dicaprio's wife drowned their two kids, which caused his character to go insane. Note, it might have caused his character to go insane, the ending is ambiguous and it's also one of those mind-screw movies. Anyways, you could link that to a maximum security prison for the criminally insane (which is where the movie takes place). I'd be down for that. I'd be so down for that.
  8. I haven't been on the forums in a couple days, and I just went to the Wishful Thinking thread for Orlando, and there's only 53 pages. Last time I was on there was more...were they deleted, or is this some sort of glitch?

  11. Hello, future Sam. How are you? I understand that it is now June 2013 by the time you read this. So it is finally summer; I bet that feels fantastic. Oh, and I almost forgot...speculation season has most likely just begun. How is that? Are there any credible rumors going around yet, or any good ideas on houses/streets for that matter? If so, what are you excited for? Any ideas that you despise or any that you really like? Enjoy summer and speculation season. Make the most of it. -From, Past Sam as of April 7th 2013.
  12. I wonder if all our IPs will be shared this year, or if Orlando will have some that are unique to us (like Penn & Teller).

  16. Every time in Gothic before the final wall scare with the zip line I would slow down because I never wanted to miss that epic scare. Never really worked out in my favor. I went 10/11 times and I think I only caught that scare 3 times at the most. That's some shit right there.

  18. Someone told me the stars fall only when I'm not looking. Well, I'm not looking for anything tonight.

  19. I wish there was a way to have pulsing work out. Being separated from groups and being able to be more immersed in the house is always a plus and it helps to contribute to the scare factor. I swear to God, every time I went through Dead End, I would be stopped on the transition hallway that lead to the nursery for about 1+ minute(s). It happened so often. And it really takes away from the house itself when you're not even looking at the house, you're just staring at people's backs the entire time.
  20. And no doubt this is the greatest community out there. Horror Unearthed and the friends I had made kept me coming back and will continue to keep me coming back.
  21. Bigger scares would be cool, and I know other people have mentioned wanting something like the Llorona puppet, so I may be the odd one out, but I don't think that puppet is scary at all.
  22. They actually have used the smell of decomposition before, or "simulated rotting flesh." They used it in the original Screamhouse from 2002. It's mentioned in the Art of the Scare movie. To be specific, this is the section where they talk about it: It happens at about a minute and half in. They briefly touch upon it and then later in the film they explain the logistics of pumping scents into rooms, but I'm not sure where that portion is.
  23. I don't know if anyone cataloged them, but someone might have. The only two I remember were Psychoscarepy and Dogs of War. Psychoscarepy was a choose your own ending kind of ordeal. At one moment in the game you were hiding in the bathroom. Someone was coming down the hallway and so you had the option to wait and see if the person came in, or hide in the bathtub full of blood. I think the right choice was to wait and not go in the tub (I think the person was the security guard, but I could be wrong on that one). The Dogs of War one was like a survey. It asked you info about yourself (weight and things like that). It was essentially filling out your form to become a dog of war. That's all I really remember. Sorry. I hope someone cataloged them. *crosses fingers* Here's a picture I took of the sign for the text game when I was queuing for Psychoscarepy way back when. Oh, and when I went to get this photo, I found that I actually took more. If I remember anything from the Catacombs one, it's that it had a lot, or at least a little to do with claustrophobia...go figure haha. I also vaguely remember the Legendary Truth one now... Oh and if you're gonna try to text the numbers to see if they still work, they don't. This past summer while waiting for HHN 22, I was bored and tried it...but it didn't work. Well until someone sheds more light on the games, I hope this will tide you over...but probably not...my memories are pretty lackluster at this point. Oh and tell me to "save it for the wishful thinking thread," but I want these to return. I had fun doing these. Approved for 23!
