  1. Too bad DC is wrapped up with WB & Six Flags, it would be cool to have Arkham Asylum.
  2. I haven't been online much lately, so a synopsis post would be great, JDW. I wonder if the prison house will be related to hellgate
  3. can't say I've ever spent much time working on puzzles, but it seems like you've figured it out mystique. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a misspelling.
  4. I know what you're talking about, that's the area of the old hard rock gate.
  5. maybe there will be a roaming horde of thugs carrying super soakers called the wet bandits
  6. lol, I don't know why I was saying cereal instead of serial. almost as bad as the time I wrote whodini instead of Houdini
  7. Just thought of a couple more, everything I've guessed are probably stretches, but that's part of the game. Kevin Spacey played John Doe in "Se7en", maybe some cereal killer tie in or the movie itself. And Kevin Bacon is in that new series "The Following", again more cereal killer stuff . . . plus he was a victim in the original "Friday the 13th"
  8. Second cryptic clue is "Kevin" . . . first two things that come to mind is the movie "We Need to Talk About Kevin", which I haven't seen, and Kevin Yagher who is known for his makeup work on Freddy Krueger and the Crypt Keeper amongst other things. Oh, and Kevin Peter Hall who played the Predator in "Predator" and Harry in "Harry and the Harrisons"
  9. I can't really see the map too well, all I get is a small version on my tablet.
  10. The closest thing HHN ever had to an Evil Dead house is the year I decorated my cube (back when I was working there) with lovecraftian images, articles about myths & legends, historical looking artifacts, my evil dead DVD necronomicon cover, and had knowby's recordings playing on loop. I lost the contest to a dollar store cartoon glow in the dark ghost and black garbage bags.
  11. Brandon makes a good point, there have been some pretty gory scenes done in houses in the past. Plenty of them now that I think about it. Evil Dead could easily be done.
  12. since doing an extreme house is a legal nightmare, maybe they'll do an "R-rated" house. just put some extra disclaimers about the content and let guests decide if they want to subject themselves to it
  13. "balloons" makes me think of American werewolf in London as well. After David turns, he wakes up in a zoo. He steals this kid's balloons to cover himself because he's naked. in other news,I just caught a commercial for a Friday night horror host show on Epix Drive-In hosted by Tom Savini as The Amazing Savini! He's all done up looking like Mr. Hyde turned vampire. I just realized that this is it's own channel that plays B movies all day, lol.
  14. The only thing 100% solid fact is that dr jimmy is going to be the next icon
  15. love the vids, doc. I like the way you think. I'd be happy with any or all of that being true. The horror host scare zone, Cindy & Eddie scare zones, horror unearthed house, shark in the dark, and hitchcock house are my favorite parts. Only thing missing for me is Halloween. Michael Myers and Halloween haven't ever really been featured at HHN. I only remember seeing the movie represented in a room in one of The Director's houses. Even though the original is a Universal picture, I've always assumed it was a rights issue. We've had other "modern" monsters/slashers several times, Carnival of Carnage was one of my favorite years, but still Michael Myers gets snubbed. If they go with the century of screams concept, which I think is great, I think it would be a mistake to leave out Halloween. At least The Thing has gotten plenty of love over the past decade, lol.
  16. I like the theory about celebrating 100 years of universal horror with houses based on classics, but I can't imagine that being the entire theme of this years event. I wouldn't be against it, I just don't expect that.
  17. I like both. Part of the fun of IPs is that you get to step into the world of some of your favorite horror franchises. With the original houses you don't have preconceived expectations and it gives more creative freedom.
  18. If they come up with a good concept for an icon then I'm all for it, but if its forced it won't be that good. That being said, since I missed the event in 2011 I would probably enjoy H.R. Bloodnguts as an icon.
  19. I prefer it stay in one park, the studios in particular, but with express lines having 20+ minute waits at times you have to wonder if the event needs to grow. After this past year I'm planning on doing frequent fear with express just to save myself the headache (or foot/leg aches realistically). Ideally 8 houses should be enough, but without express even on non-peak nights I've had to skip houses. Capacity seems to have no limit. And I'm sure I will be joined by many others in adding express, lol.
  20. to elaborate on boogieman's last thought, I think that in addition to being more hardened after years of attending we also learn a greater appreciation for the event & houses. That may come out as being more critical, but it's because we love it so much. We get a lot more out of it than face value. Part of me misses when the event was smaller and more niche, but would it have survived all these years if it wasn't as popular? So it must serve both the hardcore and the casual. I think A&D does the best they can to strike that balance.
  21. I'm available for hire, A&D! I live 15 minutes away, lets do this! what? This IS the wishful thinking thread . . .
  22. Evil dead reboot comes out in April. Maybe raimi is willing to ok an evil dead house.
  23. Something that they grew up with (I'm guessing they're in their 30s or 40s). Something that hasn't been done at HHN but that people know about. Something that would scare even them. Hmmm . . . only thing that comes to mind is George Romero, but walking dead just happened so I doubt that. And I hardly think that they'd be scared of zombies. George also worked on the tales from the dark side series, but I don't think he has any rights to it. Stephen king makes sense, but that's already been ruled out. Spielberg and poltergeist maybe?
  24. Doesn't strike me as the kind of movie that needs to be R, what do you think was missing?
