  1. A bit gutted to see that the facade isnt the same as it was in hollywood. I thought it looked amazing there last year! Still looks pretty cool though I guess theres only so much you can do with a Sprung Tent Facade

I wouldn't be so sure, Nevermore had a nice facade last year, and Chucky in '09 was good, so whatever houses end up over there this year should be fine.

  2. Since it has been debated for a while here, I figured I'd give my perspective on my scene, namely the one people at times refer to as either "The Cask of Amontillado" or "The Black Cat." I find that this room works best if you imagine it as a point in which Poe is on the verge of insanity and metaphorically (represented literally) is walling in his insanity, leading to both of the aforementioned stories that deal with sealing something away to blend togerther for him. So in short, both stories are used in the room.

While portraying Poe here, I like to imagine that his actions in the protrait chamber have left him insane, but he retains a forced lucidity with hints of his soon to be full madness (seen in the finale where everything blends together) coming out in short bursts.

  3. --This is probably the biggest cast I've ever seen for a zone... there's 21 of you, I think? 7 ladies, 2 men for each lady, 21... Hmm. Nice coincidence there with the year!

This was actually a detail that wasn't picked up on last year, but 20 Years of Fear actually had precisely 20 cast members to match its name.

2 Chainsaws, 2 Stiltwalkers, Frankenstein, Wolfman, Cryptkeeper, Mary Shaw, Orc, Body Collector, Body Collector Minon, Queen of Hearts, Alice, Chucky, Pumkinhead, Scarecrow, Pigman, Dracula, Dracula's Bride, and the Ice Queen.

    Anyway, I REALLY like 7.

  4. Anybody want to bet that decks of playing cards will be sold this year? I have a feeling that we will be able to buy the cards that we have been seeing mailed to certain individuals.

I'd bet a lot of people would go for a HHN themed deck of cards, with the face cards displaying icons as such:

Hearts: Ringmaster Jack (J), Chance (Q), The Usher (K)

Clubs: Psychoscareapy Jack (J), Cindy (Q), The Caretaker (K)

Diamonds: Clown Jack (J), The Storyteller (Q), Eddie (K)

Spades: Fear Revived Jack (J), Lady Luck (Q), Fear (K)

  5. I'm biased, but naturally I have to go with Nevermore, The Madness of Poe. The Forsaken and Saws'n'Steam: Into the Machine join it as my top tier most anticipated.

    Edited to add Rankings:

    1. Nevermore, The Madness of Poe

    2. The Forsaken

    3. Saws'n'Steam: Into the Machine

    4. The In-Between

    5. H.R. Bloodenguts Presents: Holidays of Horror

    6. The Thing

    7. Nightengales: Blood Prey

    8. Winter's Night: The Haunting of Hawthorn Cemetery

  6. Since we were on the topic of scareactor appeciaton there, I'd like to let people know to be mindful of scareactors with gimmicks that you don't find scary. In my first year, with the Headless Horseman role, it didn't take much from me to clear a street, but the year after, Mr. Nose certainly took more effort to pay off. Some characters are there to thematically enhance the event, and you've got a scareactor inside there doing what they can to add to the event in the way they were chosen to, so avoid being critical to any of the performers that you come across.

  7. reguarding the shrek alley scarezone, i have also seen it and was quite interested in the fact that the walls seemed to move, unfortunately i dont believe they will be changing thruoghout the event. taking a closer look i saw that the holes in the ground for when they are placed are already there and there seems to be only enough for one figuration of the zone. my thoughts on why they are foldable is so that entire area is still usable during the day and not blocked off or obnoxious for the guests to walk around, keep the park flowing more or less espically with the 300 person dump every 15 minutes out of the shrek attraction.

This is what I was leaning towards. It would be an interesting idea to use a maze-style pathway through a zone to corral the guests driectly to scareactor locations, rather than let the guests walk at their leisure. The best way to do this without affecting daytime park flow would be, as we see right now, walls that can be moved without having to be set up from scratch each night.

  8. I'd LOVE an Avatar sig image combo of the Headless Horseman, either from my costume or a generic image, the only other preference i'd have is to make sure that it's not "plus-sized." After all, I intend to keep scaring ya'll for quite some time and want to make sure there's room for Scaracting credits and accolades.

  9. Well my guess is they want to bury all that had to do with Reflections of Fear...it was a good concept but pulled off really poorly. I am especially allowed to say that...I was in the house....

Sweeping a less than stellar House under the rug is one thing, but Bloody Mary was tied into each House and Scarezone of 2008. I would personally like to see her again and not be left with her as the prodigal icon.

  10. I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but the full reveal has continued the trend of Bloody Mary's exclusion, with the 20 years of fear section having the other 5 icons in flame and the fear revealed scarezone/show? mentioning the spirits of Chaos (Jack), Death (Caretaker), Sacrifice (Director), Mythos (Stroyteller), and Vengeance (Usher), but nothing that could be tied to Mary Agana or her possesed form.

  11. With the flames, #2, #3, and #5, are obvious (Being The Driector, Jack, and The Usher, Respectively). #1 bears a strong resmblance to The Storyteller, it's just not as clear as the others. I personally thought #4 looked like Bloody Mary, but after what's been said, I could definitely see that image interpreted as The Caretaker.

  12. First, I'd like to say that I'm thrilled to be back, and wish everyone who has yet to audition good luck. I'm also pleased with my role, and suffice it to say, It should let me get some good scares. As with anything else pertaining to the event, it won't grave my signature until it's officially been released to the guests (usually I put the role up after I see a picture of myself online in it), and I would recommend the new folks to share said policy.
