  1. Had to add this for opening night, I was very pleased to get a "confirmed kill" on you Dr. Jimmy down in the subway. Also, I'd like to mention that the scareactors of AWIL have seen the praise the fans have placed on the house, and we're striving to become legendary in HHN lore.
  2. As in years past, I'm inviting folks to my new house. Fans that liked me, or generally enjoyed Alice Cooper or Nevermore shoud come to "An American Werewolf in London." No insider info from me about this house though.
  3. I'm a fan of this, some people aren't, but that's perfectly fine. There'll always be around 8 houses to choose from, and everyone'll have their preference. It's certainly gotten people talking about HHN Hollywood 2013, and has provided exposure on numerous media outlets within the music industry. That's never a bad thing. Has it been seen as a big deal, yeah. Will the fans like it? I'm sure some will, some won't. Is it logical to bring to Orlando? Still a little early to call, but I'm still predisposed to say yes.
  4. Just a few short hours ago, Black Sabbath 13 3D was announced for HHN Hollywood, and considering no mention of Orlando was made, it appears that it'll stay over there for 2013. We're all aware of the sharing of licensed properties from coast to coast, so it seems likely that if this is successful for Hollywood, it will be brought or Orlando, possibly in 2014. Personally, I would very much like this to happen, if only because performing in Alice Cooper's WTMN was a blast for me, and this would take it up another notch. Your thoughts?
  5. To all first timers coming in, break a leg. The roots expand tonight.
  6. For anyone who has yet to audition, don't lose all hope if you're not cast that night. Every year there have been individuals not cast initially but hired later for the event due to additional spots being created or people dropping out. Just be yourself, answer any inquirythey have of you to the best of your knowledge, and don't sweat it.
  7. Sound logic. If they're prepared to reveal a house name at this point, you'd have to believe that they'd want discussions to continue each week by adding new content, presumably with scarezone / legion / potential icon reveal happening on the traditional Last Thursday of August at 12:01 AM. if there are any licensed properties this year, the initial reveal will surely be for one of them. If I remember correctly, Silent Hill came first last year. It's always good for media sites that cover Film / Television / Gaming / Music to hype HHN early.
  8. Immediately thought of Horror Unearthed Agreed, that was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the logo on fb. I'd speculate that the legions will be featured more this year.
  9. Allowing for the houses to use whichever licensed properties are available, if I put my thinking cap on for the streets of HHN 23, I would utilize the 23 enigma, especially as it ties into the works of Lovecraft, Anton Wilson, Shea, and Koestler. Roaming hordes would continue (save for one group), and would preferrably have 25-30 actors. The Illuminated Ones; Veiled in light and shadow, these scholars intend to bring to light the ancient truths hidden from humanity for millenia (only non-moving horde, located on the corner between Production Central and Hollywood). Discordia: Beautiful women, but bringers of chaos and disorder before the Dark Times. Coinchennien: Inhuman beasts from beneath the sea, angered as if an ancient sleep had been interrupted... Denizens of S'glhuo: A demonic host known to carry various weapons, utilized to appear as though made of living sound. The Lupine of Ngirrth’lu: Unremarkable humans prior to the acts of The Illuminated Ones, the prescence of The Discordia has caused their metamorphosis into a pack of wolflike hunters.
  10. That's fair, if I may share an opinion I had of last year, Walking Dead was my least favorite house, in part because I am neither a fan of zombies nor the property itself. However, acknowledging the increased attendance, marketing focus, and the boatload of merchandise it moved, I could call its possible return next year personally dissatisfying, but not unintelligent. More to the main point, Universal has to consider anyone discussing HHN in February a reliable customer regardless of general theme, so it's smart to branch out to other demographics through licensed properties while maintaining a few classic style haunts.
  11. I think that's fair, and I know that there are people out there that pine for all-original events with fully formed icons, but I think that 2012 did really well for its intended purpose of broad commercial appeal. Examples: Gothic and Dead End both felt taken directly from the classic HHN model, appealing to the fans I described above, and I'll also throw in Universal's House of Horrors here too as a tribute to the film studios legacy and great tie-in to the 100 year celebration. Silent Hill and The Walking Dead appeal to younger and more diverse demographics, as current TV, Movie, and Videogame properties will, and both (especially the latter) played a part in the increased attendance and revenue. Alice Cooper brought a rock 'n' roll element to the event, which after scaring in myself and seeing what the genre did for 7 in 2011, brings a unique energy to the event, and that's never a negative. Lastly, Penn & Teller played the part of the playful comedic house, which I understand will never get the type of scares other houses do, but they have their place at HHN. All told, I think we have a formula for what houses we should see in the coming years that really accomplishes what the event needs to, tweaked a bit from year to year.
  12. One thing I realized last year during HHN that I hope comes to fruition is how Orlando can incorporate the event and calendar years simultaneously from now until 2019. For a visual example, this year's logo would be awesome if it looked something like this: Halloween Horror Nights 2013 Wouldn't be an annual logo, but I tthink it looks cool enough to be used once or twice between now and 2019
  13. Just a quick clarification, TNA Impact Wrestling will be taking their show on the road following the March 7th show at Universal, but company president Dixie Carter is quoted saying "We are so grateful to Universal for being such fantastic partners and look forward to finding other ways to work together in the future", in addition to other indications that they'll be back for one-off appearances in the future. That being said, I believe that Soundstage 21 will be used for other production soon, with the door open to brief TNA returns. Besides, I personally have strong doubts that Universal would want half of the houses for the event to be squashed into one corner of the park. I'd say look for another building to possibly become an 8th location or replace the Parade Building. Or not, I'm not privy to such information, if we get the same setup as 22 for 23, adding the crowd-eating TF-3D, I'd be fine. Jaws houses were never very good anyway.
  14. Two things on my personal wishllist are 1. To be a central character for another house/street. This was really fun in '08, '11, and '12. 2. If Alice Cooper returns, or another artist like Marilyn Manson is used ala "7", I'd love to be in that house/street. There's something great about being able to jam out while scaring. Its a natural energy to play off of.
  15. If you guys were still interested, it was a loop of "Welcome to my Nightmare", "Caffeine", "I'll bite your face off", and "When hell comes home" on a loop in the opening scene.
  16. Tonight is the night then. Any deranged behavior I've done is coming back, people will be exting through the entrance in droves, and Cast A will finish strong. For the last time, welcome to my nightmare... I think you're gonna like it.... I think you're gonna feel like you belong.
  17. Just to reiterate, this year"s house is in no way copied from the Hollywood house of the same name, or their house this year.
  18. ^ I was primarily focusing on "The Last Temptation" because of how the Showman is used through the house, but the more people make the effort to get the backstory, the more enjoyable, I think, they'll find this house. I'll be waiting...
  19. "The Last Tempation" was my personal character research for Steven, much like I used "The Cask of Amontillado" and "The Black Cat" last year for my Bricked Up scene last year. If you're already familiar with Alice's music, or have gone through a greatest hits album, I would follow that up with listening to "The Last Temptation" in order from start to finish to get the story of Steven.
  20. Well, now that we've gone through opening weekend, I figured I'd point people in the right direction for the plot of the house. Much of it comes from the album "The Last Temptation," from which there was a comic written by Neil Gaiman, that'll really flesh out Steven and the Showman Alice for people.
  21. Glad to see some constructive criticism, most people seem somewhat nitpicky about issues that can be fixed. It'll be a great event this year, and with that we are, Moving On.
  22. Didn't seemy house high on many lists, but I'm sure it'll be one of the top crowd-drawers, and I'd certainly go through if I wasn't performing in it. 1. Alice Cooper's Welcome to my Nightmare (personal bias) 2. Gothic 3. Universal's House of Horrors 4. The Walking Dead: Dead Inside 5. Penn & Teller New(kd) Las Vegas 6. Silent Hill 7. Dead End
  23. All the images released so far make this house look really good.
  24. Hey all, I usually like to make a quick post about where I'm at each year once the big reveal has gone through. Looking forward to scaring anyone who comes through Welcome to my Nightmare.
  25. I wouldn't be so sure, Nevermore had a nice facade last year, and Chucky in '09 was good, so whatever houses end up over there this year should be fine.
