Let's not forget that the 3rd movie they named off when discussing their vast library was Poltergeist.
Also Orlando is doing a Vamp 85 scarezone... WB could've easily said "NO" when Orlando planned on a Lost Boys vampire sz. Hence the original route.

The 4pm entry is dumb because you're not going to access the early entry mazes earlier. Besides, EVERYONE has access to early entry at 5pm, so again pointless free gift.
Also keep in mind that Universal likes to increase the price for parking during HHN... So I'd suggest the free parking.

Yea... I'm broke as f#$k! If I don't get an email by Friday, I'm auditioning for the WB haunt event.

The reason Stranger Things was delayed was because Family Feud was filming inside SS29 until a few weeks ago.
Also keep in mind that the scenic department has more than just one maze to dress up, so that's why Trick R Treat is in its current condition.
There is every reason to believe Warner Bros would take away an IP from Universal. Just look at Orlando's issue with Scream, Ouija, etc.. the difference between Orlando & Hollywood losing Poltergeist is Orlando can just convert it into a spooky paranormal Legendary Truth original.

So the presale ticket option is back & the "free gift" is eyeroll worthy again...

For the record.... the lady that was part of the panel. She used to help with Queen Mary's Dark Harbor. This isn't new territory for her.
Also keep in mind, A LOT of the horror movies were filmed on the Warner Bros backlot. A LOT of them. They're going to utilize that.

So apparently some got an advanced warning from PR that there would be NO ANNOUNCEMENT at the HHN panel yesterday. Despite the "Trick R Treat" scarezone offhandedly mentioned by Murdy... its true. The Midsummer Scream panel was a total waste of everyone's time. I firmly believe they were supposed to announce "Poltergeist" and/or "Blumhouse 2.0" due to them being shared on both coasts. However, its highly speculated that Warner Bros threw a huge monkey wrench into their plans...
1- Poltergeist was MGM. WB owns all of MGM's films. Even the Poltergeist remake is WB & 20th Century Fox (....now owned by Disney )
2- Blumhouse has had films released by Universal, however, guess where Blumhouse's offices are located? The Warner Bros Lot.
3- During the Warner Bros "Horror Made Here" panel, a question was asked about their IPs being used elsewhere. They said their IPs will be more restricted/exclusive (aka- Not used at HHN)
Now there have been rumors the past 2 years of HHN getting a maze for "The Conjuring"... well, WB is doing a "Conjuring Universe" maze (Conjuring, Annabelle, The Nun). So it is very possible that WB somehow someway pulled the plug on Poltergeist and maybe even Blumhouse. If you've noticed from any of the recent construction updates that there has been ZERO scenic progress (except for Parisian Courtyard) with the facades. Even the maze facade in Waterworld has yet to see anything beyond plywood.
Thoughts????

Or as we like to call it.... "HELL-O-WEEN 2.0"
This is honestly a new low for HHN. Yes in a way, we once again get "traditional Halloween" at the entrance, but come on... Give us something "NEW", "ORIGINAL", "NOT SEEN ELSEWHERE IN THE PARK"
My expectations for this scarezone are very low.

Location: Simpsons Plaza
Theme: Circus Freaks/Clowns
So this scarezone is actually not a new or an original concept of mine. It was actually me just wanting it to continue to be a tradition every year because for several years it did return year after year. Unfortunately, like all traditions at HHN Orlando (Parade, Bill & Ted, etc), they die.. "Midway of the Bizarre" was a scarezone that was located in "AMITY" for 7 years (1995-2001), then returned one last time in 2004 (The Boneyard -aka "Rockit Plaza"). You could say it DID return 2 more times from a certain point of view- 2007's Carnival of Carnage as a park-wide sz (unfortunately budget cuts & NLC drama hindered it) and then 2009's "Cirque Du Freak" in Kidzone Plaza/Hub (despite tied to an IP, it could be considered a throwback to MOTB).
Officially by name, the scarezone has been done 8 times out of HHN's 28 year run. While I am all about variety & new content, having a staple scarezone that returns every year is always a fun throwback. And using an IP like "Cirque Du Freak", it allows you to tweak that traditional SZ here/there to keep it fresh.
Now the unique thing about 2004's "MOTB" was that it utilized parade floats... those parade floats did not stay put the entire night because HHN brought back the parade that year. So the floats served two purposes- scarezone set pieces & parade entertainment. Definitely a fun way to honor two Pre-IOA HHN traditions.

Hurry hurry hurry... Step right up.. Enter this way into the Midway of the Bizarre... Beware of the freaks and clowns lurking in the fog...

Location: Earthquake/Disaster Overflow Queue
Theme: Haunted Soundstage
One stormy night, lightning struck the prop warehouse of Disaster Studios! This caused the props within the soundstage to take on a life of their own. Enter if you dare to investigate this collection from some of their iconic B-movie films. Beware, there's a reason this soundstage has been abandoned & kept locked up tight! Its not to keep trespassers out, but to keep the horrors inside!
Thoughts:
So when the former Earthquake attraction became the inferior Disaster attraction, the revamped queue of "movie props" inspired this house concept since this was always a house location anyway, I figured why not have a house that utilizes its location? While this was a fun simple concept, all those years between 2008-2013 that I lived in Orlando, I NEVER once actually took the time to wander through the overflow queue full of Disaster Studios props. I had only ever saw them from a distance Shockingly, there really aren't any pics of the "prop queue" or even video (that I could find) except for footage of these 3 props below & it was during haunt season because a house has taken up residence on the left half of the queue space. I'm pretty sure there was more than just these 3 props within the Disaster Queue, but I could be wrong....
I never had a fully developed concept for this house, although I might've had a better idea for it roughly 5 or so years ago haha. Its hard for me to flesh out the details without knowing if there were any big "prop" pieces within the old queue or not. Obviously there would be many scenes that weren't centered around an existing prop as well. I wanted this to be as cheesy & B-Movie-esque as the attraction itself, only on the horror side of things. Here are a few of the ideas I had in regards to scareactors...
Plane Crash - zombies... pilot zombie, flight attendant zombie, passenger zombies. The airplane number is "EQ 1990" in honor of the former Earthquake attraction. So I'd have that tied in somehow. Since the wrecked plane is in two pieces, it'd utilize 2 scenes within the house. One large scene, then one small scene.
Crashed Meteor - aliens... This would be your cliche sci-fi section. The meteor unleashed an alien when it crashed into the old barn. This would've been confined to either 1-2 scenes.
Rocket Shark - Burned & surfer shark attack victims. lighting effects (yay strobes) would help bring the static shark prop to life. Since it is a shark, there'd have to be water spray effects. This would also only be 1 maybe 2 scenes.
Other ideas would be a guard shack outside the "soundstage/prop warehouse" as part of the facade scenic. Obviously the security guard would end up being a victim of this haunted soundstage. There would've been a scene full of cages & big wooden box crates. Think of 2010's "Horror Nights: Hallow'd Past" house... that'll give you a general idea of what I was going for with the Disaster queue.

Yea... i can see it now.
Me: "Hi i was calling to inquire about whether or not I'm cast for HHN"
USH: "Well we were going to include you in the next round of emails, but since you bugged us... you'll be in the last batch of emails or maybe in the NOT Cast group"
Me:

Anyone else love how since we don't have anything to really speculate on in regards to the event this year, we're instead speculating on how they're doing the casting and whether or not we'll be cast?

@Darktigerlone Did you guys get any hint at whether you were street or maze? Or was it just the basic paperwork/into the system filing?
-
Okay so it seems like the casting emails are very random & NOT done by last name. Maybe location? Ugh.... so frustrating not knowing their method. Because I'll apply for "event staff" or something in the park if I had a better idea of whether or not I will be cast or not.

Mmmm.... fish. Okay, so you're definitely not allowed to ride the Little Mermaid ride at Disney... that'd be like an all you can eat seafood buffet

So two "R's" and a "B"... in an unrelated note, when you say them together, it makes you want "Arby's" mmmmmmm
