  1. Since we don't exactly know what the maze featuring the monsters will entail or its music (yet), nor do we know exactly what kind of vibe they're going for with this scarezone... i'm just going to throw these out there just because they should be included in some capacity :P

    Is the musician Figure?

He DID say Figure would be featured throughout the park this year, so maybe!

"Figure" will be heard in the Toxxic Tunnel like last year. That is the only known location at this time.

If Figure was used for the Classic Monsters maze, then people would bitch that it is just "Universal Monsters Remix" all over again

  3. What?... No drink at the Fangtasia bar? No game play in the Lost Boys Arcade?

Thats the one thing I find interesting about the event's Carnival Circus scarezone/midway... we don't know the full details of its offerings. I wonder if they'll bring back the "IT VR school bus" again just to offer something else. I believe they mentioned live entertainment of some kind, maybe a DJ like last year too.

  4. Truth or Dare will be simple scares from big creepy smile victims

Unfriended... I'm going with the Ghost of Laura route

I still haven't seen either (yet), nor have i read the synopsis of TorD yet either. Part of me feels like this might need a 3rd IP to make it feel complete. If you removed The Purge, we'd have only been left with HDD & Sinister. Despite the budget cuts, The Purge definitely made last year's maze feel complete. So this should be interesting.

  5. Well I can assure you, if they cast the girl I saw as Harley/Harleen (or hell even Regan), she will be perfect. Her ability to snap between the two were flawless. Here's another big difference between other haunts and WB's... People actually sent in audition tapes! (no joke). Also, rumor has it, they might be looking at casting more people than originally planned.

So while, we all know that Universal and other haunts like to go for the "At Capacity" route when it comes to tickets. I've heard the number for WB being around 3,000-ish. Which is NOT a lot of people for each night and allows you to fully enjoy your time there without waiting 5+ hours for one maze.

They will be going all out with the "Nightmare of Camp Crystal Lake" terror tram, they will be fully utilizing the jungle set location to its full potential (it even has a "lake"). Also, it seems like The Conjuring will be completely different from what was presented last year. Actually, from what I heard, its apparently been said to forget anything/everything you heard/seen about last year's "trial run" because this year will be completely different and much bigger.

    unlike the ones in ush

Yep. Ever since IU merged with Orlando United, the forum has gone downhill. I already got a notification today from "Brian" about "inappropriate behavior" :lol:

    BACK TO SPEC....

    The big question is-

Will Blumhouse 2.0 be announced at ScareLA, a haunt con geared towards SoCal, despite being a shared IP with Orlando?

Or will it be the Classic Monster maze, Murdy's dream project that would allow him to talk about for an hour?

  7. The new pic posted in the construction thread showed off the ride sign for the bumper cars "KRAZY KRASH". The power line poles make me miss Twister...

I've seen it done in a home haunt and it was pretty damn cool. It'd be great if they actually had a scareactor ( or two) in a bumper car driving around IF they have the space for it.

it seems like people get too offended nowadays. If you look in their generL direction they are offended.

Its true... I'm insulted by this post referring to people being insulted..

So I guess the headline is "More Houses Than Ever"..?

I always love how much haunts emphasize this when they only bumped up the house count by 1... it'd be a different story if it jumped from 6 or 7 to 10. "More scarezones than ever", again.. you added one extra scarezone, while the rest of the park is mostly devoid of monsters.

did you see the leaked lineup?

You should probably "spoiler tag" the image. Its out there for the world to see, but still best to keep it "hidden". (Don't want the mods to flip their shit like on IU haha)

After looking into "Unfriended" (still haven't seen it yet), depending on how they approach it, I actually don't have too much of an issue with the odd choice of IP. I feel like if they make the "Ghost of Laura" an actual thing, it would give the IP a face for the scares. The deaths are hit or miss. They'll really need to tap into the creativity department to make it work.

  10. There have been several mazes done before the films were released. I bet it was more along the lines of studio interference of some kind. They have kept the new film very secretive as far as what happens, even after advanced test screenings, but still say its a missed opportunity. Thankfully the general public is stupid enough not to notice the difference (until the movie comes out). To them, "Michael is Michael".

Few things from Murdy via twitter:

    - Like all previous Halloween mazes at HHN, this one will also have some Halloween III "Easter Eggs"

    - The maze will feature the score from the film, including the 1980's-ized version of John Carpenter's iconic theme

    - Dr. Loomis will make a cameo in the maze, albeit the badly burned Loomis from Halloween 4...

    - You'll see the various iterations of Michael as well that were featured in the film

    - Gas Station scene semi-confirmed in comments.

  11. If you attend HHN, then you already waste money on an over-priced haunt.

Anyway, attended the auditions today for the event. A little similar to how HHN does their auditions, only much more efficient and professional. They do it like an actual studio casting for a film/tv production. The talent that I saw today was amazing. One girl pretty much was so on point for Harley Quinn/Harleen Quinzel, it was mind blowing. Then she also did an epic Regan from Exorcist. If she isn't cast, I will be shocked.

The process they used was you had to choose from their list of characters they'd be featuring for the IPs you'll experience (yes, even Exorcist 4D will have scareactor talent). Each group of 6 people would be taken out to do a warm-up exercise to channel their character they were auditioning for. Since you'd possibly be asked to do a 2nd character, it was best to choose two. After that came the actual audition. Unlike HHN, they actually filmed the entire thing. Instead of a cone, they had a tri-fold wall. The casting director would have the people become their characters & then react to certain situations IN character. Then each person performed their character one by one, but were also asked to do other things as that character or another character. It was very efficient.

They only had two days of auditions. This is not going to be a "meh" haunt. This will be a legit performance based event rather than the cliche "Boo & skadoo" tactic you see elsewhere.

  12. Okay, so I very briefly stopped by the park today (Sunday, August 12th). Honestly, there isn't much "NEW" to see (unless you get lucky & you tram goes past the backlot mazes..... mine did not). So this is a small update. I don't think we'll see a significant change with Waterworld/Parisian until they're announced (which is hopefully soon... since one of them is a shared IP)..

    PARISIAN COURTYARD (Classic Monsters)

^small gauntlet is being built in Universal Plaza. Curious to see how this turns out.

^The framework for the backlot maze signs is up

^The dead trees are still waiting to be used

I might try to go to the park again later this week, but aside from the Terror Tram, I don't see much visible progress happening until they start on scarezones. And honestly, I'm surprised they haven't started working on "Holidayz in Hell" by now.

I'll wait for reviews. If the experiences at the end of the wait aren't mind blowing that's a hard to justify purchase.

Last year, since it was their first official "test" to see if what they're doing this year could be done. They only sold roughly LESS than 1,000 tickets (something like 800 or so). Waiting for reviews to justify the price for an experience is not the best route to take (which is a very unfair way to judge something because while it might be "mind blowing" to some, others might think its total shit). It can sell out. And if you miss out on something great, you'll regret it. If you do it & it isn't "mind blowing" to you, at least you experienced something "NEW".

when starting the application it says “You may only submit one application in 30 days. If more than one application is submitted, you may no longer be considered.” My scareactor application is still there but it’s been more than 30 days since I submitted it.

Yea, I just said "f**k it" and applied for something else anyway. Its been more than 30 days & I'd rather get hired for something, than waste my time during the event hoping that just maybe I will get cast. I made that mistake last year. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of empty scareactor locations & knowing that you could've easily filled that role but instead they never contacted you to do so. The reality of it is, apply for something else at this point, or wait an extra few days to do it.

  15. Well it all depends on when you go & when you hit the different offerings. Considering the free Neibolt House experience in Hollywood last year to promote "IT" got up to 2+ hrs, i'd say expect the same like any other haunt or theme park attraction. Of course, there is always the "VIP" option which gives you one-time "front of the line".

I'd suggest doing "Arkham Asylum" first, out of everything, THAT will have the longest waittime of the night. Then do either "IT" or "Conjuring". After you have those 3 mazes done, THEN do the "Nightmare on Camp Crystal Lake", which leaves you time to enjoy The Exorcist 4D, the Fangtasia bar, Carnival scarezone/entertainment & the Devil's Drop Tower ride.
