  1. If they're gonna play metal I'm pretty sure it would be in the queue. My question is whether or not they will have a queue video. If they did, what would it be about? Something original-like or just FvJ clips?
  2. I think I understand what you guys mean, and if I do then I agree with both of you. I don't want a 3D house if anything related to it is going to be half-assed. If a 3D house is going to be created, then I would want the same devotion and passion that was given to houses like Halloween and Nightingales so that it can be a great house. Please don't misunderstand, I'm all for having a normal house that would have a better chance in being successful, unless A&D is 100% sure that the 3D house that is being made that year will be a fantastic house or at least a sleeper hit. Also, to compare the In-Between to other great HHN houses would be difficult, because it was really unique in its own way. If I had to compare it to anything, I would compare the house to the other HOTY that it tied with, The Forsaken. There were many factors that contributed to it's success. For one thing, the scenery was beautiful with every detail, and you could almost immediately tell the passion that was put into this project, confident that the designers and creative directors did everything they could to make this perfect. Another key thing was the difference in tone as compared other fun and whimsical (aka decent) 3D houses; but the most important factor was the way they used the 3D nature of the house to its advantage. everything from the scenery to the scares took advantage of the 3D style of the house, and the aggressiveness of the scare actors in that house was a huge plus as well. It had innovation, passion, and originality. It was different. The Forsaken also had beautiful scenery, as well as passion, but it was mainly the aggressiveness the scare actors had later on in the event that led it to tie with the In-Between. When another attempt at a serious 3D house was made in 2013, all we got was another carbon copy of the In-Between, but it was worse since it was half-assed. My point is that unless they are sure the 3D house being made will be overwhelmingly amazing, or at least solid, they should stick to making solid normal houses. Also what did you mean by 3D done without gimmicks, criticalanalysis? Sorry I don't think I get what you mean there.
  3. 3D houses are only a "collosal waste of space" if they aren't done properly. Then again, NO house is a collosal waste if done properly. I wouldn't say that 3D houses are useless and a waste of our horrific desires. Rather, it's just extremely difficult to create a SERIOUS and MORBID HOTY-type house from a 3D maze full of colors and shiny/disorienting features. The In-Between is a perfect example of a serious 3D house done correctly. Yes, everyone keeps giving the 2011 HOTY as the same example, but that's only because there are rarely few if any 3D houses that can pull that off. Trying to create a successful and serious 3D house is like trying to have a horror movie win an Oscar for Best Picture: it's possible, but very difficult to do so, given its style and characteristics. I believe that 3D houses should only be made if it's a sure fact that that it will be just as good as the In-Between, and not a copy (i.e. Afterlife). If they can't make a good serious 3D house, then make a fun one like Penn & Teller. After all, fun 3D houses are usually good.
  4. It feels so good to be back on the forums, and binge reading 68 pages has probably had some affect on me at this point. Concerning the topic of seeing everything we want to see at the event, I was pretty lucky last year. Granted, I drove 3 hours up on Opening Night (when it was pouring rain and storming), missed the opening scaremonies and the first 30 minutes I believe, and the exceptions to my luckiness were Rocky Horror, B&T, Bayou of Blood and some of Face Off; however I did see all of the houses and half of the sacredness. Also to be fair, I wasn't interested in seeing RHPS again, and I saw B&T on a different night when I could actually observe and appreciate the "atmosfear" along with my favorite houses. I even got a chance to eat at Finnegan's. But I do see the point you guys are making, and I agree with it.I did felt rushed at times, and I heard from friends of mine that they could barely go on any of the houses on peak nights later on in the event. They could only be able to go to 1 house, 3 if they were lucky. It's true that Universal needs to get their act together on this problem, but it's not solely their problem alone. I would blame the growing GP crowds partially, but Universal could do something about that, such as adjusting routes and whatnot. As for the number of houses increasing, I don't believe that would alleviate the packed and problematic lines that make us miss our favorite houses. An extra house would just become another missed house most likely. To be honest I believe that one of the few things that would help with this is the possibility of a two-park event. Please don't misunderstand, I'm not going straight for this because I romanticize a 2004 HHN that was okay from what I hear (with the exception of some houses). I think that the dead spaces and crazy long walks would perfectly occupy the number of people that go to this event nowadays, and hopefully this would tire out some of the GP from filling out some of the houses. In my opinion, I would care less for missing houses and scare zone as long as I had something that HHN had plenty of years ago: passion. I'm not saying that there is no passion for the event, I mean look at Halloween last year. However there are certain factors that currently restrict the passion that others felt in houses like the SS Frightanic, Screamhouse, etc. I realize that, as usual, I'm going off tangent so I'll finish by saying Uni needs to check themselves and set out to fix this problem for everyone.
  5. I want universal to do both parks once again. After Harry Potter's million dollar construction budget is done, not much money is spent somewhere else, and not much major construction comparable to that is happening next year, and compared to a decade ago, HHN's budget has increased so I believe that HHN in both parks is great. After all, IOA is naturally immersive, and total immersion in the streets and event is something that we need to rekindle the flame for GP to transform into horror fans.
  6. The story is on the first page of this thread, but for those who are too lazy to look back here you go: The whole house is an old-time morgue that has been redecorated by a little girl (who is unnamed but ironically looks like Cindy). The little girl has turned this morgue into a disturbing, morbid and twisted dollhouse, where she tortures the poor unfortunate souls in the "dollhouse." That's why there is a freezer section (makes sense for a morgue to have one) and why you see a little girl torturing a man in either the third or fourth room, "transforming" him into a doll. The creators tried to make this house truly disturbing, successfully I might add, by forcing one to associate creepy dollhouses with something " truly sinister," hence the term they used for the theme: forced integration. Correct the story if I'm wrong, please.
  7. I love this house so much. In the 2 times I went on Opening Night I enjoyed it so much! The some of the scares are predictable, but almost all of the scare actors made up for it with their aggressiveness. To be honest, this house was more gore than giggles, and even though there were some funny moments for me, I couldn't much humor. Either way, for a Disaster queue maze, this is an awesome house. Also, did any of you guys find any funny scenes/moments/scareactors that made you smile or giggle?
  8. They do have warnings. The problem is that almost nobody reads them. Operations needs to let the risks happen and trust in the fact they won't lose in a lawsuit (if there even is one) because they did everything they could. If anything they could just warn people of the risks and warnings, including the alternate exits, before they get inside.
  9. Honestly I just want Universal to restrict HHN to people either 13 or 15 years old and up. I'm trying to make the age limit reasonable but the people who complain are obviously the parents of every 13-15 year old that can't drive, which is so friggin stupid. If the stupid parents are offended by cleavage or by rituals, then why in the hell do they take their kids? Don't get me wrong, I approve of aspiring horror fans but please don't have such uptight parents. I know this will be an unachieved dream but I want universal to put in the complainers survey if they are a parent or not. If the people who complain put yes, then Uni should respond, " Then why the fuck did you bring your child there you awful parent?" After all it's only natural that if parents bring kids to an event like this, it's only natural to see things like this. They should just restrict the age to 15 and up. It's a win-win: we won't have annoying 13/14 year olds or stupid oblivious parents, and Universal won't lose that much of a crowd, as HHN's GP is mainly composed of young adults (18-25 yrs) I believe. In fact HHN's GP would increase; if kids or stupid parents don't go, there'll be less complaints, more blood and gore and cleavage, and more happy faces. Keep in mind in don't dislike the 13 year olds, I loathe with a passion the stupid idiotic oblivious and foolish parents that arrive thinking there's no HORROR and OBSCENITIES at a PG-13 HORROR EVENT. Dang morons *sighs* okay now that this rant is over let's talk about happier-ish topics . Hopefully, there will be something for us fans next year ( No TWD FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, and I'm a die-hard fan) such as old 80s horror movies, mostly original houses, good commercials, great marketing etc. but now isn't the time to talk about such troubling and speculative things. It's only the second weekend lol!
  10. What room was the tunnel in? I must have gone when the tunnel was closed
  11. To anyone who has seen the show, SEX WITH YOUR TAIL!!! That is all lol.
  12. No, I still have hope that, someday, they'll be used for a future AWIL scare zone in London ! Unfortunately, I had a terribly awful run this weekend as all the scares occurred either too early or too late. Nonetheless, the Predators and Xenomorphs looked amazing! I feel that this house and Roanoke are like The Forsaken house, in which that it's already good, but once the scareactors find their groove, these houses will be fantastic!
  13. I'm sorry but what mirror gag are you referring to? Was that in the crib room? I went there two times but I didn't see it. What room was it in? Also ,Cody, is the fetish you're referring to, is it the one of dressing up like babies?
  14. Just want to let you guys know there is some music that plays in the wrecked buggy in the Purge zone. It seemed different from the metal core songs and I tried to find the song but my phone died. So if someone can find it. Also, about the tribal music in Roanoke is that sound effects or is it an instrumental?
  15. All I'll say is that if you know what was in his classic jack in the box, then you'll appreciate it (hint: it's huge and not difficult to find ). As for the second one, I don't know what it was and I couldn't find it.
  16. 2012? Honestly I would have gone with 2008-2010 maybe 2011, but not 2012 lol. Still, keep in mind that HHN has not had any scare zones for 2 years, and from 2010 and before the props and scare actors were abundant. This year they're just getting back into it. It's not like they were gonna shift back to good ol' awesome scare zones so suddenly. So give it time before it spreads to your liking, and don't worry, because it might just happen.
  17. Okay so in the front gate I got "160 Bpm",Angels and Demons by Hans Zimmer. In the Masquerade Scare zone, I heard "Museum of Oddities and Curiosities" by In Dark Solitude, the Trick or Treat album. And for the Purge I found "Transcend" by Hope for the Dying. I'll try to find more
  18. I agree with JDW on this one. EP is always lacking in some ways, and some things aren't even there until Opening Night. But EP nights are mainly for the purpose of seeing the performance and efficiency of the scareactors, the lighting, sound editing, shows, props, puppets, etc. then after seeing the performances, everything that needs improvement will be fixed, adjusted. This is the night of tweaks, groove-finding and testing. So I'm not worried about getting my money's worth at opening night, unless it's the same as EP night. Usually, I don't judge HHN by rehearsal night.
  19. There are some execeprions to the daylight problem, such as Dead Exposure in 2008 and probably House of Horror in 2012, and if you include it, all the 3D houses up to date. The daylight in fact improved upon the houses either making them more disorienting or making us more susceptible to scares especially with DE's UV-style scares, which made the scareactors only noticeable when it was too late. Other than those, most houses are kind of difficult to see I agree.
  20. Hey I was wondering does anyone know the set times for Cast A and B? I have always tried to go to each house twice in order to enjoy both casts, but I never knew when they switched so I had to cross my fingers and hope they were the other cast, and usually I could tell the differences. Is there a schedule for each cast to switch or do they switch every 30 min/ every hour?
  21. This is probably an easy question to answer but can you refund and/or upgrade a ticket? Someone in charge of buying the tickets in my group bought just the first weekend deal for Opening night, but something came up and I'm trying to purchase a ROF pass. Is it possible to upgrade/exchange/refund tickets?
  22. I believe that the masks and prosthetics will be way better that its predecessors
  23. Based on the map reveal I bet that the SS queues will be as such: for FDTD, it will start out as the same route as last year, but we'll make a turn into the pathway in between SS 20 and 21 and go to SS 22 from there and we'll probably exit from AWIL's entrance last year. For The Walking Dead I'm not sure, but it will probably go past SS 22A to SS25. As for Dracula and AVP, they'll most likely take the same routes as Nightingales and Evil Dead. These are just my guesses, but if you think of something better, post it! It's fun to speculate after all.
  24. Hehe ADE DUE DAMBALLA, Give me the power! But seriously this zone sounds amazing and I just know this will be amazing
