  1. I think that everyone who has talked negatively about Roanoke in their reviews simply hit the house at the wrong time. The actors in this house haven't gotten cast change down to a science quite yet so during cast changes there are very few scares. Also, the actors are still getting used to timing and figuring out their niches so to speak. The environment is by no means below par. I heard that someone had said it was poorly put together and seemed like a home haunt. That blew me away when I read that. Anyways, if this is one of your most anticipated houses then don't listen to any of the negative comments. Wait till you go through the house and if possible, go through several times. That can make a huge difference, not only with Roanoke but with any haunted house. And if you are a history geek like I am, you will probably have a natural attraction to this house. I actually got a lot of ideas for my home haunt from the houses this year, Roanoke included. Now if we can actually pull it off, that's a different story.
  2. Yea, I forgot about that Michael...
  3. Not sure if you are serious about your Roanoke critique. I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I enjoyed roanoke and found it to be pretty cool. It didn't seem like it was thrown together in a short amount of time and there were some cool scares throughout the house. Also, Roanoke was really gory. Next time you go through it, look at all the body parts, skulls, an even a few costumes. The gore factor is definitely there.
  4. I haven't spent too much time in this zone, but over the weekend I felt like some of the queen's followers seemed a bit too plain. Some were just dressed in normal looking cloths with skulls in their hands.
  5. I love it when actors really interact with us. I have some friends scaring throughout the event and they always go out of their way for me and sometimes even acknowledge me. Haha
  6. You're in Giggles Michael?
  7. Houses: Dollhouse- 8 Roanoke- 11 Giggles and Gore- 8 Halloween- 7 Dracula- 5 AvP- 7 Walking Dead- 6 From Dusk Till Dawn- 8 Shows: Bill and Ted- 3 Rocky Horror- 0
  8. The crib room. To say the least and not spoil it too much, the crib room smells... ALOT. If I say anything else about it, I might soil it.
  9. Let's put it this way... the surprise at the end of the house is a bit different than what most people were speculating.
  10. The interactive parts of the house are GATs. There is one in particular that is really good. The house didn't feel small at all, so ignore all the worry about that.
  11. Did someone say smoothies? This reminds me of the meatshakes discussion from a couple weeks ago. haha
  12. There are loads of cool scenes and concepts from AHS that could work in a house. There are several issues that I see, however. AHS doesn't have the same hype as TWD. I also agree that it would be hard for Universal and FX to reach a happy medium between old seasons or new ones. I still have a glimmer of hope for AHS.
  13. I'm interested in seeing how everything unfolds, but I'm not overly excited. I'll give it a try though.
  14. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to make me an HR Blood'n Gutz or Roanoke signature?
  15. Oh man. Your dog literally ate them all? YIKES!
  16. That was my first thought. It would be pretty hard to replicate and the application would take a long time.

  18. I'm really excited for this house. Interested to see what they do with this newer side of Dracula.
  19. Ande and I will be heading back out there on Saturday for a construction update.
  20. I definitely think our "voice" has been heard. We have scare zones back. That's a huge thing. Even though we don't have a lot of zones, they are pretty large and elaborate.
  21. When I get home I can start a thread for it if you would like. I've been thinking about making one for a while.
