By any chance did you wear a t-shirt from this forum? I was on the boat to horror nights and there was someone with their family, the father was wearing a horrornightmares.com t-shirt!

Nah, I still need to buy a HNN shirt! It was just my girlfriend and I, was wearing the Exorcist shirt that day I think.

Seems like a silly move on Hollywoods part. Having people SHOW UP drunk means they are acting up as soon as they walk in the door AND Uni is missing out on a ton of money. Has HW always been dry?

Yeah it's surprising they're willing to sacrifice all that potential profit. I believe they have been dry since 06' when the event was brought back.

I have never really had an issue with drunks at HHN. I know how to spot them. Hell Ive dealt with them in other cities. I dont know. Like the guy above, my wife is small as hell so Im always on the look out too. Maybe Im just lucky.

Agreed I haven't really dealt with anyone too obnoxious. If anything, our event in Hollywood has WAY more drunks and our event is dry. Lol Everyone just pregames it at Citywalk. The crowd in Orlando is tame in comparison.

As the days went on we left earlier and earlier because the crowds seemed to get hammered earlier everyday, heck at our Bill and Ted show some guy was escorted out by the cops because he was black out drunk and passing out. We happened to get the last AP HHN t-shirt off the mannequin, do they run out quickly every year? Already looking forward to next year!

I was there during that show! I felt bad for the performers because everyone started paying attention to him instead and it was during the finale.

Wait did you ask if you could go on the tour and still get a refund, it sounds like you can from what other people are saying

No I didn't even think about that to be honest. Can anyone confirm if that is possible? Seems unlikely but if that's true now I'm even more bummed out. Lol

very dull show. it almost feels like a high school play in terms of jokes. There was so much stuff to make fun of (That is not related to movies) I know they have to be careful on what they make fun of but.... seems like they left so much stuff out. Last year was better. There were dozens of things that happened this year that should have made it into the show.
Academy of villains is a much more enjoyable and more entertaining show. I wish Academy of Villains had chairs to sit because I could do that show 20 times (if I wasn't tired of standing) But Bill and Ted.... wow.

Agreed. They should just swap the two shows next year and it'd be perfect. Academy of Villains is so freaking good, especially compared to the stinker B&T is this year.

  7. Great decision making on Universals part. I'm assuming a lot of guests went to guest relations complaining about the lines and not finishing everything, possibly?

Definitely save Exorcist for last. The last few black hallways had the most light coming through. Freddy vs Jason Camp Crystal Lake scene had light coming through as well, but besides that most of it still looks good early.

Also, quick comparison between our event and Hollywoods -

AHS: Orlando's had more scenes from the show but I feel like ours was done more effectively. I will say their face characters did look more accurate to the show's actors though. For a second I thought they actually convinced Lady Gaga and the young maid to revisit their role. lol

Halloween - Ours was more creative and had better scares, theirs was more accurate to the second movie. They had the last room on fire with screens and smoke and it looked pretty good but I love our ending in comparison.

Texas Chainsaw - Both were good, their scare actors were HUGE, but I think they both were done well so I can choose which is better.

Exorcist - I enjoyed our version a lot more opening weekend than I originally did, but Orlando's version makes ours look like a joke. Their effects and transitions rooms are freaking awesome, I had goosebumps throughout the maze. I don't know if a maze has ever done that to me.

TWD - Ours obviously looks better since it's a permanent attractions and the effects are solid, but theirs was actually scary and just a fun maze overall. Yes we're all tired of TWD, but Orlando showcased all seasons in a well put together maze.

Krampus - Ours is miles better than Orlandos. Most of their scares come from Elves, while ours showcases Krampus and the evil toys more. Also the set design in our maze was so much more impressive which is crazy because usually Orlando has the better looking sets.

Scarezones - Our gauntlet and the purge actors are more aggressive than the actors here in Orlando for the zones (mazes are about the same level of intensity). The zones this year are a little cheesy with the exception of Dead Man's Wharf.

Haven't seen Academy of the Villains yet, will see it today though to compare Jabbawokeez.

Krampus is just like that. 90% is elves. there is one room with some of the toys but thats the only one. Hollywood has a more complete house. I dont think you went during cast change.
Ive done it different days and it's mostly elves.

Yeah I saw the bear and Jack in the box in the attic scene but they didn't pop out while we were in the room. They were just standing there.

Damn that sucks. Not sure why they decided to not have Krampus pop out at all. So weird. Lol

  9. Quickie review!

Lunatics Playground - Worst maze of the event. Definitely could tell they wanted to save money by reusing Alice 3D props.

TCM - The leatherface scare actors were HUGE. I thought I was legitimately going to die when he came charging at me during the metal door scene.

Halloween - More faithful to the second movie compared to Hollywood's event, but it was less intense and creative. Lots of repeating hallways/rooms. Michael scare actors were also very small. Hollywood is miles ahead on this one.

Exorcist - Orlando's version is SO MUCH better. Scared me a lot, and the transition rooms and effects looked much better than ours.

AHS - One really damn good scare with the freak under the wooden wagon before the Freakshow facade. Overall solid maze but Hollywoods was much better.

Tomb of the Ancients - WOW! Could've been really cheesy but ended up being in my top 3. Felt more claustrophobic than it was because of the crap hanging everywhere and the scared were firing on all cylinders everywhere.

Ghost Town - Air blast gun scare made me poop myself.  Great sets, fun maze overall. Not super scary though.

Krampus - Assuming we went through during a cast change, but majority of the scared were from elves. Hollywood's facade, puppets, scares and set design was much better. Still will give this another shot tomorrow.

The Walking Dead - Enjoyed this years version a lot , especially compared to last year which I hated. Loved the sewers segment and thought all the scare actors were on point.

why did hanging stuff first become a thing? It seems like it is a relatively useless thing that to me only makes sense in situations like the closet scene from Halloween.

Makes for a good distraction. They're just trying to capitalize on the fact people are focused on moving random crap out of their face. Lol

Literally just watched it, love this video so much more than other big channels because you dont use that awful camera light that gives away everything and let's you see what the experience is really like

Glad you loved it! =] That's the reason I started filming full walk throughs this year, because I felt like Sharp Production and other bigger channels used that light (or edited their videos too brightly). Subscribe if you'd like to see more, I'll have the rest of the mazes posted by the end of month! (Krampus is posted already too)

I was always under the impression that any type of pics or filming was prohibited in Orlando.  For whatever reason, during HHN 24 while near the start of a house, I decided to read the warning sign, list of what's not allowed, etc.  It specifically said no "flash" photography of any kind.  I then questioned the team member right there as I wanted to take non flash pics and apparently he never read it in full before either.  We both went with no pics or filming, regardless of flash, to be safe.  I'm then pretty sure last year, just to double check, I read another sign and that one covered all bases about no filming or photography of any kind.

We get booze but not filming, you get filming but no booze.  Strange coasts we have.

It is really strange, I don't understand why they wouldn't allow that. I'll just try to be sneaky about it and see if I get away with it. Lol At least there's booze though. X)

Since I never waited longer than 50 mins for a single maze on opening night, I really hope people take my tips in the planning thread into consideration haha.

However I know people are still gonna make the mistake of doing Exorcist first, but whateva haha

Agreed, your gameplan is the best shot at getting everything done this year. Would you be okay if I utilized your tips in a HHN Guide for beginners video?

Also, here's a walk through of The Purge Gauntlet!
