  1. Who cares if it's inspired by Bioshock or not? Let people think it is if it makes them happy. I'm just glad the Jaws queue sounds like it has an awesome house this year! I can't wait to see all these cool effects people keep talking about.
  2. But don't stop friends from taking them...
  3. So I'm just going to go out on a limb and assume that the "facade" is the Courtyard room we've heard a bit about already? This makes me so pumped... I'm hoping for an EPIC battle scene here. Crazy epic with crazy water/hurricane effects.
  4. I said the same thing the other day, but on one of the websites that posted a review or whatnot about the Tweetup thing behindthethrills.com said "Hawthorne Cemetery will use REAL snow." Which is why I was asking. I said the same thing about it being impractical and it would be better to use the same effect as the Harry Potter and Forbidden Journey Queue... In fact I already read your post but then I heard this and was like "What a tick, no way." and thought it was mildly relevant to ask aging...
  5. I have a question for anyone who went to the Tweetup, did they say that it was going to be REAL SNOW or just that it was going to "SNOW"? Like will it be legit snow made out of frozen water or just some sort of snowing effect?
  6. I'm sure the chairs will be fine. They're out of reach of the public, and a lot of places are making wicker outdoor furniture and it actually lasts a lot. I think maybe they chose it because you can really form wicker into a ton of different shapes. Plus I'm sure when they painted them they also sealed them with something to help make them weather resistant. Even just the paint should help.
  7. This sounds awesome! I usually go with a group that just wants to run around to all the houses >.> It would be cool to get to actually walk around and take pics one night with other people.
  8. I was hoping for the rock look too so they could have some scare actors blend in with the rock and jump out at you and have the giant cloaked scare actors on stilts, I guess it's more of a metaphorical canyon?
  9. I love the new pic!! It looks like it's going to be great! It mildly reminds me of the Pirates of the Caribbean queue line.
  10. I think it would be fine, I mean the queue for Forbidden Journey doesn't get slippery so I'd imagine as long as its not like a crazy amount of snow it would be fine... Actually they use the same effect at a ton of places, I'm pretty sure I used to see it at Grinchmas and such too back in the day.
  11. Agreed, also for me I love having like the big sets along Hollywood, it kind of sets the whole night up for me. I loved the last three years how detailed it was here. I'm hoping we get a lot more set up here... *crosses fingers*
  12. They should at least have some snow effect similar to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. I just want to see something that looks like snow falling around. Seeing my breath would be cool but I would much rather see something fall then just be cold and see my breath.
  13. I still don't really see it as any more of an issue than any high startle haunted house... and my brother who's diagnosed with PTSD and the guys who also have it that he talked to agree. Something "might" happen where it can be a problem, but that's true at many many places... That being said I still think there's not much use in worrying about it we'll just have to see what happens when the time comes. I've been thinking about it and it kind of seems to me like the only part of the house where you're out in a "combat" situation could be the facade of the house, which would make sense with that concept art we saw earlier where you walk through a trench. After that I bet you're going to spend most of the rest of the house in a "hospital" type of place since that's where the nurses would be most of the time...
  14. I'm going to guess that Nevermore's facade is going to be like walking through a book cover of Poe's works or something like that. We'll see soon enough!
  15. 1) Canyon of Dark Souls- I know not many people feel this way but I think this is an awesome concept. Really imposing cliff walls, fire, huge scare actors, scare actors on the ground. Maybe not the most scary zone but i think it will look awesome. 2) Grown Evil- I just love the whole evil garden this scare zone looks to be headed in. I think it would be cool to use kind of the same statue scare as in the Legendary Truth house last year. 3) Acid Assault- Mostly just intrigued by the 3D projections, I hope it ends up as cool as the videos because that would be awesome! The props are already looking really good too (except I think the bus looks more like its covered in jizz...). 4) Nightmaze- I'm kind of on the fence about this one... I'm hoping it turns out really cool and innovative, but I'm kind of worried about it living up to the hype... 5) Your Luck has run out- Idk I like scare zones in Sting Alley but I'm worried it will be a photo op zone more then scare zone. 6) 7- This feels to me like it might be more of another photo op zone or "show zone" and less of a scare zone... These are just my thoughts right now we'll see what happens after some more construction pics in the coming weeks!
  16. I don't see them having REAL snow, but I could see them using the same kind of effect as in the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey queue.
  17. I'm sure Uni has REALIZED the impact a WWI themed house will have and themed it accordingly. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
  18. They could have some actual water effects. Some of the houses in the past have used like a waterfall effect and such. I could see a sinking ship effect or they have "rocking" hallways that make the room look like it's swaying which could be a cool effect.
  19. Oh my God that would be terrifying especially if they were wearing like all black and black hood. You would be walking through the maze not seeing anything until all of a sudden that scary white face flashes right in front of your face. Could be awesome!
  20. I'm glad you knew what I was saying. I was pretty worried people were going to jump on me and say I was being against the troops or something. I was honestly just stating a fact. Half of my family were in the military and I have tons of respect for anyone that serves are country, but I honestly hope that people can use some common sense before going into the house.
  21. I think veterans and active military personnel just have to realize what they can handle when it comes to that stress level not just in a war themed house but any Halloween or high startle event. My brother was deployed twice in Iraq and Afghanistan he was diagnosed with PTSD and Halloween Horror Nights just isn't something he'd want to go to anymore. Veterans and people with PTSD aren't going to be forced to go into the house if they don't want to.
  22. Awesome! That just makes me EVEN more excited for this zone!
  23. It's easily doable! Go for it! Make sure you get to see the parade and fireworks and try to get a spot in front of the castle, it's really worth it for the full experience especially for your first time! Plus you get to trick or treat and get a ton of candy!
  24. Yeah I feel the same way... but the description says it's an "all black maze" which makes me think it will be ALL BLACK... maybe some cool laser effects or something could make it a little more disorienting. I'd kind of like to see them cover the hole maze with something, sort of like in Containment...
