Are you allowed to choose which path to take? And which one is the right one for future reference?

They try to get people into one or the other, but you could take either path.  Did TT twice and took opposite routes.  Really not much different since the attraction is shorter than usual.

  2. Getting ready for HHN 2016 so I am revisiting the "best of" attractions from 2009-2015.  I split the mazes into what I thought were excellent with others that were good. Then I ranked them within each category.

I have a quick question. Since I have Front of The Line Tickets for opening night, I want to watch the scaramonies. The first maze or first thing I want to do at the event after the scaramonies is The Exorcist because IT'S THE EXORCIST. But I don't want to use my Front of The Line entry for it. I want to hit The Exorcist again as the last thing I do for the night with my Front of The Line, you think I'll be good? Will the first general entry after running to the maze when the scaramonies finish be good?

To get the most out of you front of the line pass, I advise following the usual game plan and skipping opening scaramonies. I mean really, it is NOT that great, even if you've never done it before. And it's the same thing every year. This way you can hit every maze once with decent lines and then between 11-2, get your repeat of every maze in. That's just my advice though, because those FOTL tickets are hella expensive and I would want every damn penny put to good use.

Last year we completed three mazes and three rides before 7pm without having to use our FOL!  Take advantage of early entry.  I was pleasantly surprised.

Best lineup ever, not dreading anything, hope it delivers, a mod should start the meetup thread and the planning thread

I agree.  On paper, this event looks phenomenal.  Early entry worked well last year; hopefully Universal does not make too many radical changes to this perk.  They goofed up VIP on a few occasions just by changing minor things.

  5. Ended up getting the FOL for the event on Sept 24th!  Whoop Whoop!  Raise the Roof!  Who Let the Dogs Out! Put That on Something! All That and a Bag of Potato Chips! Catch You on the Flip Side! (or whatever the kids are saying these days).

Early entry noted again for this year:  "Arrive by 6pm to enjoy Early Entry at no extra charge!  Select mazes will open at 630pm."

Yeah, their survey statistics seem pretty biased in trying to prove how successful certain properties are, like how last year's Halloween maze was the "highest rated maze of all time" but most people agree it was good, but nowhere near as good as other mazes

OR that Jabba-Wookies was the highest rated attraction at what is supposed to be a "horror-based" event.  Mazes must have been worse than I recall. :o

  7. So much to look forward to this year!   Here is my listing for each maze:

    1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Blood Brothers -  A maze that is a sequel to the original maze (and not the film sequel) makes this the most intriguing  property out there.  Hoping for some semblance of a cohesive story.  Had a blast with TCM:SIL.
    2. American Horror Story: So many different characters and environments to look forward too...even though not the scariest of characters, I would love to see "Liz Taylor" and "Sally. McKenna" pop up somewhere in the maze.
    3. Halloween 2:  I may have seen this film as many times as the original; looking forward to see how the hospital scenes are re-created.
    4. Krampus:  And who doesn't love an Anti-Santa Claus and his murderous minions during Christmas time!
    5. The Exorcist:  Yes, I get this is John Murdy's ultimate catch....and I get creeped out by this type of horror more than any other type of sub-genre.  Just a bit so-so with anticipation, though.  Still looking forward to every property.
    6. The Walking Dead Attraction:  Unable to get over to California much so I at least want to be able to experience the permanent attraction at least once.
    7. Freddy Vs Jason:  Did not get the same level of excitement last year from Aliens vs Predator as I did during its first run, so not as excited for this version of the "Battle of the Bohemoths".  Hopefully, this will be fun!  The stand alone mazes were very good.

*sigh* really wish we can get "The Conjuring" maze instead. I saw The Conjuring 2 twice because of how good it was. I think it was the only movie to ever actually scare me. Would of been nice to see Valak

I agree StraightEdge...Conjuring 2 was an effective horror film and has great elements for a maze.  It has been quite awhile since I have seen popcorn fly, drinks spill, and people getting the "jimmy legs" like they did during this film.
