  1. The only weak points of the show for me this year are the Filibusters sequence and the finale (probably only because the last 2 were damn near perfect; makes it hard to live up to em). Other than that I love it. 2013/2014 were better, but this year's show is plenty hilarious. High amount of Disney jabs, funny plot, great jokes, great cast. Will probably see it nightly here on out.
  2. I think that's the concept he was referring to. I am TOTALLY behind that, because I've always wanted to see that stage show with Jack's beheading pulled off. Have Eddie control the park, give him some heavy metal as a back drop, Don't do RUN again but give him a different house, and there you go. Make it an INTENSE year.

    The Purge

2010's was a lot of fun but overrated. 2013's was bad, and their room in M&M is bad. It's like The Forsaken; a fan favorite house that I just do not understand the hype surrounding it. This house is fun. I've done it 7 times so far; it's fairly intense with the right cast (Cast B was ON IT yesterday).
  4. Friday, October 3rd: Monsters and Mayhem: 3 Insidious: 3 The Purge: 2 Asylum: 2 Body Collectors: 2 Freddy vs Jason: 1 RUN: 1 AWiL: 1 B&T: 1 So far: Nights: 6 Monsters and Mayhem: 10 Body Collectors: 9 Freddy vs Jason: 9 RUN: 9 Insidious: 8 Asylum: 8 The Purge: 7 AWiL: 5 The Walking Dead: 3 B&T: 2 The Carnage Returns: 1
  5. 1. Body Collectors (hard to pick between my 1-4. Went with this one for the overall eerie atmosphere, the snow storm effect, and music choice. Great opening to a great house.) 2. Jack Presents (Jack spieling is awesome, as well as the spinning columns showcasing the icons. Look around, you may notice a lot of popcorn boxes lying around..) 3. Insidious (Most threatening facade this year. Much like Halloween, the lighting and music choices make you feel unnerved before you even walk into the house.) 4. Freddy vs Jason (Camp Crystal Lake and scares in the facade? Sold.) 5. AWiL 6. RUN (Cool concept. The Metallica helps.) 7. Asylum (Nice continuation of the Ultra Violent Comics series. Very artsy.) 8. The Purge (They had like a week to do this. Good enough.) 9. The Walking Dead (What. The. Hell. Is. This. The House of Horrors facade from 2012 was better, and it was literally just a poster. Worst facade of all time.)
  6. 1. Insidious (Most intense out of the 9. Delivers the most scares when your timing is right.) 2. Freddy vs Jason (Versus scenes leading into the winner at the end. Very timing dependent, but I love it.) 3. Body Collectors (The Gentleman in the final room is AWESOME and comes out into the path to get great scares. Great way to end the house.) 4. AWiL 5. Asylum 6. (The Jack element of Jack Presents is my only problem with the house; his sound effect is very non-threatening, which diminishes the scariness. It suits the character fine and works for the transitions in the house, but makes for a weak finale. The post finale scene was cool and unexpected though!) RUN and Purge are typical. Nothing special, and so far have lacked energy. And TWD's ending is fucking stupid, true to the show or not.
  7. Lines for Rockit and Mummy will not be short as the event continues. Rockit's already gotten up to 55min last weekend, and always gets to 90 min on most peak nights. I've seen Mummy hit 70 min on peak nights, and even non peak nights when Rockit's down. Gringotts has a monster capacity, so it likely won't get over 30-45min. MiB, Simpsons and Transformers tend to be 15-25min, and will hit 45 on the most crowded nights, but not much more than that I bet.
  8. The significance is that it just means Jack and Eddie were born in Shadybrook, insinuating their parents were insane. Could point to why they turned out the way they did, having been born/possibly raised in an insane asylum. That could just be reading waaay too much into it, and this could very well just be a nod to the fans with no backstory or real meaning.
  9. I've heard it represents Home for the Holidays from 07, but I think it's meant to be a callback to Bloodengutz. I think people were expecting to see Bloodengutz himself, but that's not the case. I love the room, personally. Everytime I walk through I tense up cuz I can't see a damn thing with the strobes and it feels like they're gonna hit me xD

    The Purge

If you look up in the 3rd or 4th scene of the house, you can literally see the mechanism that's to open/close garage doors lol it's a lot of fun to see the Scream sets mixed into very light Purge scenic/graffiti. Kind of a "what if" situation. Would've loved to see the house in full Scream set dressing and Ghostface, but what we got instead was a pretty intense house. If the actors keep up the intensity, it'll be a crowd favorite. I fully expect to see a proper Purge house and zone next year for the 3rd movie, especially if this continues to get great reviews.
  11. I heard The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson around the park. Master of Puppets and Disposable Heroes by Metallica were played at the RUN facade. Both tracks off of Master of Puppets In RUN, Run Like Hell by Pink Floyd (The Wall Disc 2) is played in the opening scene. Of Wolf and Man by Metallica (Black Album) is used in the pre show of The Carnage Returns. The opening dance song for B&T is Day of the Dead by Hollywood Undead.
  12. A lot of first timers to the event that I know are not loving this house. The 2 actors they took out that Cody mentioned really add a negative to the house, and the cast just doesn't seem as intense as 2013's. If this was the first year for the house, I honestly don't think what they have this year would end up rating higher than the other SSs or Insidious. What's disappointing is that this has the chance of ruining this house's legacy. It's been regarded as a near perfect, scary house, but that's not the case this year. That's the risk with exact repeats; if it's not as good, you negate the reason why you brought it back. The fact that this was only 2 years ago doesn't help either. This consistently seems to have one of the shortest lines in the park.
  13. This house greatly improved over last weekend. I really enjoy it. It's a fun one to walk through.
  14. I've done this house 3 times now. I didn't even flinch in any of those runs. The sets are fine, nothing out of the norm for a TWD house, and it's a decent length house. But the house itself is just bad. I really enjoyed last year's house; intense, tons of scares, lots of fun. This year's is so incredibly boring that each time I did it I couldn't wait to get out and go to a good house. Plenty will still get scares, as people tend to do at HHN, but this is just not a good house. With the exception of Afterlife, this is probably the worst house since 2012. Didn't plan on doing it again after the second time, but was hanging out with some people who wanted to do it yesterday during the AP Event so I said what the hell why not. I do not plan on doing this again all season.
  15. Thursday, Sept. 25th: Monsters and Mayhem: 2 Body Collectors: 2 RUN: 2 Insidious: 2 Asylum: 2 AWiL: 1 FvJ: 1 The Purge: 1 The Boring Dead: 1 Friday, Sept. 25th: The Purge: 3 FvJ: 2 RUN: 2 Asylum: 2 Monsters and Mayhem: 1 Body Collectors: 1 Insidious: 1 The Boring Dead: 1 Total so far: Nights:5 RUN: 8 Monsters and Mayhem: 7 FvJ: 7 Body Collectors: 7 Asylum: 6 Insidious: 5 Purge: 5 AWiL: 4 TWD: 3 B&T: 1 The Carnage Returns: 1
  16. Did this house twice, and it actually improved quite a bit! Cast A still has some work to do, but B was ON POINT. No GATs to be found, but I MIGHT have found one in Asylum. Will confirm tomorrow.
  17. If you count the 2 runs I had of the actual Forsaken house, I've seen that scene 6 times now. I've only seen them even try to scare once. That scene is cool to walk through, but is horrible for scares. Should've done Poe. Or Saws N Steam. OR CATACOMBS DAMNIT
  18. I think they've become basically a staple since 2011 (there was even one planned for last year before From Dusk Till Dawn took it's place) because it's something the GP tends to enjoy. Hollywood's been doing it every year for the longest time and it always seems to gather a long line over there. But even with 3D, if the house isn't very good, like Afterlife, it won't gather a long line, like Afterlife. Considering where that house was, 75 min being the peak for that house on any night is pretty sad. Asylum has potential to be a fun house to walk through. It's not scary, but it has some cool rooms and is decently disorienting. I'm in the camp that wanted this as a regular, Scary Tales style house. It would've been magnificent. And The In-Between was completely a fluke. I don't expect them to ever top that one. 3D houses are REALLY hard to make great, and they nailed that one. I don't know wtf they were doing when they were planning 2011's event, but they made an event so good that year that the freakin 3D house won house of the year.
  19. I wasn't planning on going back in this one for a few weeks, but I think I'll run through tonight to try and find the GATs. I was looking all over the place in this house last weekend, didn't see any..
  20. Considering they should be open for HHN, I'd be willing to bet they'll be open til HHN closes for the evening. I'd give them a call beforehand to confirm. And last year, I was there on a Sunday that saw 41,000 people. Thursdays and Sunday have been peak nights for a while, since they're cheaper. Basically, any day that's not a Wednesday or in November is going to be packed. This weekend is the last to have the potential to be slower. We'll find out in a few hours...
  21. This is the first year I've seen next to everyone say TWD was decent at best, horrible at worst, with most somewhere in between. Last year it was one of the highest rated houses, but this year.... I can see a negative reaction after 4 years causing Universal to FINALLY see that TWD isn't the main IP driving people in anymore. FvJ, Insidious, and even Purge are already proving more popular than TWD, and the fact that the first 2 are so strong will only continue to make that happen. I think I could safely say there is a very good chance this IS TWD's final year. However, I won't say that. Why? Because on Saturday, Hollywood's TWD maze got up to a 150 min wait, and is one of their strongest mazes and possibly their highest rated thus far in guest surveys. This is always the case for Hollywood. Murdy never has a problem with doing what's popular, so he'll continue to bring it back until the end of time. Who's to say they won't continue spreading the IP over both coasts, whether or not it's wanted in Orlando? I don't see them repeating an exact replica of an IP again. I think AWiL was a special case. I wouldn't mind at all repeating classic originals from the past, such as the ones JDW mentioned. They'd be new to most GP, diehards from the way back will enjoy the nostalgia, and newer diehards will get to experience houses from before their time that have been praised for so long. Add in the fact that they probably have most, if not all, the materials they need in storage outside of actually building the house, it's a win/win/win for all involved. Cheap, effective way to add a house to the event. As for house locations next year, I'd say 4 SSs, Shrek, Parade, 2 tents like normal. Then, you have the options of the MiB extended queue, building a third tent, they're building a 2nd parade building for when the current one is demoed for Nintendo; if it's done soon enough, they could build a house there, etc. They can pull a Hollywood (or a 2012) and go back down a house, but I really hope not.
  22. The queue begins next to Transformers. 3 HUGE switchbacks are set up. You go to the front of Shrek, through it's entire line. You enter through a door not normally used to enter the stage when Shrek's operating normally, in the extended queue of the attraction. You exit down the ramp next to the Transformer's meet and greet.
  23. I think it's a fun and creative house, and I enjoy it, but people are calling it the best 3D house they've ever done, and that's a load of shit, imo. In no universe is this house better than The In-Between. That was the 3D jackpot, and I'm not sure they'll be able to top it. This the best SINCE then, yeah, but best overall. Not very scary, but I like walking through it. I also said Afterlife was decent at first, but now I really hate it, so we'll see where I stand after a few more runs.
  24. WHY THE HELL ARE HAVOC AND FORSAKEN IN THIS GODDAMN HOUSE BUT CATACOMBS IS NEGLECTED???? Biggest problem I have with this house. It's OBVIOUSLY a fan favorite, would've and should've won HotY that year, and people desperately want it back. The only reason I'd give it a pass is if they have a sequel planned, but if not, WTF.
  25. Eh, I wasn't a huge fan of it. 2013's was golden, last year's was great, and this one was just kinda good enough. I'm gonna give both shows another shot this weekend to make a final judgement on them
