  1. Meh. I would suspect I'll go through this once in the 8 or 9 nights we are going unless there is zero line and I'm walking by. At least it isn't The Walking Dead. There's that.
  2. I seriously doubt the incident in Hollywood had anything to do with this. Either they think this show has run its course, and it's time for something new. Or, the theater is being torn down, and logistically it won't work. A B&T shirt would be most excellent
  3. While I have found this show a bit on the stupid side these last few years, it's still a tradition, and there are usually some gems in there. This is such a huge part of HHN, I can't believe they are just getting rid of it. I mean, even if they tear down that theater, why couldn't this be done at Animal Actors? Is it too small? Just wondering the thinking behind this. I'm surprised to find myself somewhat heartbroken over this announcement.
  4. Side note: If you didn't notice, the member photo thread was added. Please go over there and post a pic of yourself so I know who I'm looking at this year.
  5. I love ET. I'd really miss it if it were gone. And, start yelling at me now, but I like Terminator too. The fog rolling over everyone at the end is my favorite. <sigh> Understand.
  6. What? What? Why do you people always have to be so f-ing vague?
  7. We did it last year as well. It happened to be the weekend where we brought along my wife's son and daughter in law. They are both in their mid-30's, so we aren't talking kids. I have to say, the interaction we had with Chance was outstanding. She got a little crass, a little dirty with my wife's son, and we roared with laughter. We still tease him about leaving his new "girlfriend" behind at HHN. His wife gives him endless shit over it, too. The rest of the characters were SO MUCH FUN. They spent a lot of time at our table, and we got some terrific pics. I'd definitely recommend. I'm waiting to see which characters will be at this year's experience, but I'd say it's already 80% chance we'll do this again.
  8. I literally laughed out loud, Alice.. because I was just getting ready to respond only with le sigh.. and I saw you did! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! So, um... ditto?
  9. They've had sci-fi based houses. I don't think you could do a "sci-fi year" because not everyone is a huge fan of that genre. HHN has to appeal to a very broad audience - not only horror fans, but to the general public - a huge population with many tastes. I, personally, am not a sci-fi fan per se... I like some of it, but it just doesn't get my adrenaline going the way the supernatural horror does. Again, personal preference which usually comes from how we grew up, what scared us as kids, what kind of books we read, etc, etc. They will never do a "sci-fi year". Pardon the pun, but it would alienate too many people. I would love an announcement today, but I'm not getting my hopes up or putting any money into a bet.
  10. Another one we've seen recently. So, again, glad they don't go by this. I am going to this event until I am physically unable to do so. I see me hoofing it with my walker when I'm 90 years old. I'm just spoiled by the slow, but consistent reveals we were getting for several years. I also miss Aiello on Twitter. At least he'd snap some bts pics and tweet them out for freaks like us Even if we couldn't have reveals when we wanted, those teasers were almost as good. Now, we have neither, and we are stuck with a clearly incompetent marketing group who has no idea how to handle the social media. That is disappointing because I am one of those people who would watch and re-watch teaser / interview videos. Also, that epic fail of letting a month long countdown end up as a sweepstakes announcement deserves to be bitched about. That was just a crappy, stupid thing to do. Why even bother with a countdown?
  11. For the love of god and everything holy - please no. I don't think anniversary dates matter to them. I am over the whole TCM thing.. it's been done and done. The Exorcist house was a shit show. Halloween was awesome, but I don't need to see it again for a long while. Give us stuff we haven't see yet. Phantasm, please
  12. Ah crap - you're right - it was during Mardi Gras. I forgot we were down for that. And yes, it was soft opening. Doesn't change the fact it's a shit ride
  13. We got on Fallon during last HHN, and I HATED it. I thought when it was announced as a "new ride" that it was a joke. Then, as time moved on, I realized they were serious. I thought from the beginning that it was a spectacularly STUPID idea for a "ride". I wasn't wrong. The ride IS SPECTACULARLY STUPID. We all rode it, got off and a collective "really? f-ing really" came out of every mouth. Personally, I loved Twister. It was cheesy, yes, but it's a classic movie, and I still miss pushing the button on the cow from the queue line every time we'd pass it during HHN. Twister was fun for me. I was really sad to see it go. I've been hoping for years that Uni would bring on some kind of year round horror attraction. I mean, they are the ACTUAL NAME OF CLASSIC HORROR. How do you NOT have some representation of that in your park? I know Hollywood had their thing for a while (still saddens me that they got rid of it). I remember Orlando's Hitchcock thing (which I adored!), but that is ancient history. So, the company is "rebooting" all the classics, but there is no classic monster tie-in experience in the park? Instead, you do a friggin ride based on a talk show host? F-ing stupid.

  15. I've always wanted the house shirt just to have the Halloween Horror Nights regular logo on the front with maybe some kind of passive background - like dark trees or a full moon or a graveyard or some kind of typical horror thing. The closest I have to a shirt like that is last year's AP shirt. I'm glad they are dumping that stupid blood slogan on the front. The only one I liked was "Once you're inside, there's no way out". That was cool. The rest just felt like - oh let's be clever and find some passable slogan to smear on the front of these shirts and screw them all up. They just got dumber every year. Also, I wish they'd start thinking outside the box a bit on merch. I'd kill for an HHN luggage tag.
  16. Duh, Critical http://www.hhnlegacy.com/horror-unearthed.html
  17. I think there is usually a thread started here where people can post what nights they are going. If we all did that here, it would get too muddy, and I think people would forget who was going when. However, if a thread is started, people can check it before the upcoming week/weekend to see. I already know exactly what days I'm going spread out over 4 weekends, but I'll wait for that thread. Also, to answer the question of who on this forum I'd go with.. there are lots of you I would go through houses with! I'd want to do The Shining with Mystique because she and I are King obsessives I'd want to do whatever house is the scariest with Matt I'd want to do whatever house has the most "wow factor" with Critical to see if he's impressed. That all being said, I wouldn't limit myself unless you are just a flat-out weirdo. (like we all aren't)
  18. <blushing> Hey, I will meet up with any of you, any time! And Matt, you're correct - I totally want to go through houses with you because you're a screamer. Honestly, we (my wife, my best friend and I - the weird version of 3 Musketeers) have been doing this so many years now, we have learned to spot the screamers in line, and we intentionally let people go ahead of us so we can get next to these people. It's paid off spectacularly! At 25, the woman behind us screamed her head off through Jack's house all the way through, and when she came out the exit, she said, "Oh my god, I literally peed myself". She was about 40. LOL Anyway, let me publicly invite any of the Nightmares family to say hi or join up to go through a house. Very often you might recognize us because at least one of us will be wearing a Nightmares shirt every night while the others wear Dare 2 Escape shirts (we have to advertise, ya know?). AND, we are three middle-aged women who will walk little circles around you young 'uns. hahahah Occasionally, all three of us will have the makeup done as well. I love that stuff! While I was bummed about the fart to the face that was the end of the "countdown", my excitement for this year grows daily. I have 100% faith that I will not be disappointed, and this will still be my favorite time of year. I absolutely adore A&D and have been fortunate to call some of them friends. I know they work their asses off, and they have the passion that makes this the awesome thing it is every year. Oh, and bonus, no f-ing Walking Dead this year! I'm good!
  19. Also one of my favorites for sure.. I thought I remember having to walk through some "trees", and they were kind of close together. There was a growling sound that came from them. It was right near the beginning. I wish I could remember more, but that was back in the day when I only was able to go one weekend. <sigh>
  20. We will be there 30 September and 1 October. We will find you, Matt. I'd love to through a couple houses with you.. although, I am hoping you get express because we won't do it without express unless the wait is 30 mins or less. Also, we believe the loaded fries are WAY better than twisted taters. I'm not talking about gravy on the fries.. I'm talking loaded like a loaded baked potato - cheese, bacon, green onions and a little sour cream. A-Mazing. Also, I believe they do have a chili option for the loaded fries. So, you may want to revise your eating plans. Soooo.. lie
  21. Holy shit.. my countdown didn't even go the full time it was supposed to (I'm on Central Time). Now, there is no countdown and it says 19 souls collected. So, apparently, they can still collect souls. What the actual fuck was the point of the stupid countdown??? THAT WAS JUST IDIOTIC!
  22. This will probably be the most exciting thing I'll read today. The more I see the comments here, the more I think we're about to be duped... and you all are right - no more souls can be collected. That's it. Fuck me.
  23. Hell, I never even got an official confirmation email. It's a sad excuse for inclusion or for trying to get any of us hyped up. I'm patiently waiting until Thursday morning to see if the stupid countdown actually means what we think it means.
