  1. Let me start by saying that this was my second year attending the event, I was lucky enough to finally get to go last year and was instantly hooked, I loved and always will love The Usher. That year we attended without express passes and were actually able to do six of the houses, so with that in mind, myself and the three friends going with me decided that if we pre-planned our route we could do all of the houses. We arrived at the park a little later than planned but to our suprise it wasnt very crowded at the entrance, and the process of going through the metal detectors was actually easy. We wasted no time heading to our first house Spoilers from here on out..... Hallow'd Past I was pretty pumped for this house having read about all the cool props from year past, but I also knew that alot of people were complaining about the amount of 2008 rooms, but I knew I wouldn't let this sway my opinion if it. I loved the first few rooms full of props, as we entered I listened to the audio, I believe it was The Director taling about Fear and film, it was pretty creep whatever it was. I have to echo everyone else and say, again, I loved getting to see all the props. The tunnel was very disorienting but fun, my only real issue with this house was the Treaks and Foons scene. It was empty, and seemed to serve no purpose other than to be colorful and disorienting. I quite enjoyed the alice scene and I kindly clapped for the Body Collector ripping the spine having read that its customary to do that. My only real scare came from the second Dead Epxosure room. The ending was anticlimatic for my group but overall it was a nice house to start with. 3 out of 5 Catacombs I have to compose myself when talking about this house. Hands down my favorite of the event and I tend to act like a giddy little girl when mentioning it. The two houses I skipped last year were the tent houses so this would be my first tent house experience. This house delivered from the get-go, props to absolutely everyone in here, my best scare of the night came from one of the plague doctors. We though we had escaped and then saw the strobe and tarp room, a very well done scene. My group and I ended up doing this house a second time, the last one before leaving. While in line we saw the cast change, I loved how in character they all were, one of the plague doctors pointed at our group menacingly. About halfway through one of the doctors scared me and I screamed but then exclaimed "But their costumes are so cool though!" to which the scareactor nodded enthusiastically, made my night. I loved the costumes and the theming, I could talk about this one forever but I will get right to it; my favorite house oh HHN ive done so far 5 out of 5 Orfanage I didn't have high hopes going into this house, it had alot to do with how poor of an experience I had in Saw last year, but I wasn't going to not let it have a chance. We hit this house perfectly, the wait said five minutes but we walked right in, no one in front of us, no one behind us. I thought that given the location the sets were nice, and we actually got a little confused about which way to go. I got the second best scare of the night in the room with the cribs, it was a very eerie and startling scene especially when the lights turned to red and the two scareactors lunged forth. The Cindy at the end got me pretty good and we all ran out of this house. I feel so lucky, having a "solo" group experience like that, it really made it so much more terrifying. 4 out of 5 Zombiegeddon This was one of my most anticipated houses having heard about the unexpected turn for comedy to horror. It really delivered. The "free twinkie with purchase of gun" sign in the first room was a great touch. We were lucky enough to see the zombie baby scene. The most terrifying scene for me was the scene with the two zombies in the bags, and the one with the nail gun. We exited the house, thought we were safe and then the zombie outside caught us off gaurd, and again, we went running. This house was a nice suprise 4 out of 5 Hades Hmmm, what to say about Hades....for some reason alot of this house is completely gone from my memory, I even watched the UTH tour of it on youtube to remember, but couldn't. All I can recall is being scared by one of the Guard men in the first room or so, and the Cyclops got me pretty well, but accidentely hit my butt. The conga line came to a dead halt in this room and we then noticed the techno music playing, it seemed out of place so we all laughed and danced a little. Other than this, I don't remember any signifigant scares, but I enjoyed it if not only for the music, I just wish I could remember more. I'm sure we were merely the victims of bad timing so im not going to condemn this house, it seemed like it could have potential. 2 out of 5 Legendary Truth I was curious as to what this house would be like. I kept reading it wasn't scary, but again, I didn't want reviews to sway me. The facade blew me away, I felt like I was walking into a real house, and the inside was well done too, but I founf myself just observing, and not being scared, we missed the person under the floor, but did see the actors on the skates which was a nice effect. The girl in the bed gave the friend in front of me a huge scare but I was never targeted. Yet for some reason this house was the most terrifying to one of my friend, she was the head of our group and was targeted, and it was pure enjoyement to listen to her react and scream, I literally almost fell down in the hall with the doors I was laughing so hard at her. It was a fun experience, this was the other house we did twice, this time with me leading in hopes of getting scared, sadly, again, we missed the scares, but once again, my friend freaked out, so I wasn't too disappointed, I well appreciated the sets and the design, I just wish it had pumped up the scares 3 out of 5 Havoc Wow. Initially this was the house I was least excited for, the concept didn't interest me, and it was decided that if we had to skip one, this would be it, but we had enough time and what a pleasant suprise i was. I felt the most unsafe and terrified in this house. The scareactors were INTENSE and moved so quickly, I screamed very loudly in this one, it was great. It was so loud and high energy. Props to everyone in here 5 out of 5 Psychoscareapy This was my first and last Scareapy House. I think it would have been more impressive if I had been with it all along. All three of my friends had been in one of the incarnations of it and just its legacy terrified them/ The facade was very neat but after that, it wasn't that impressive. I got one good scare in the hands hallway. I did like the "Nurse Wallace must die" written in blood too. Then the conga line stopped for a pretty long time, apparently someone was tying a shoe, but we stopped about four times and ended up just standing around in the house and when it was over I was left with a "meh" feeling. I think it was my least favorite, but thats not to say its a bad house, the scareactors seemed to be on their game, but we just hit it at a bad time, im sure under the right circumstances it could be scary 1 out of 5 And now...Scarezones 20 years of Fear/Fear Revealed wow. wow. wow. by far my favorite scarezone area(s) I have experience. I loved the props in the 20 years section and I saw the actors delivering some great scares. In Fear Revealed I was so giddy getting to have my picture taken with The Usher, I told him he was my favorite. My group also got a great picture taken by a drunk man who gave me quite a laugh. It started out just the four of us with The Director but then Eddie walked over and stood by me, and Fear and his minions joined us as well. Its one of my favorite moments of the night. i know alot of people complain about it being a photo op, but I personally enjoyed it Saws and Steam I have never seen so many people running from the chainsaw people before, it was hilarious. I was hesitant to go through since last year one of them called me "wheres waldo" when i had on my stripped sweater but it was a nice area. Loved all of the steam of course Zombie Gras For some reason every scareactor ran up to me when we ventured through this area, it was quite interesting, but I enjoyed it. especially the music. We actually sat down to rest and have some water at the tables right outside the scarezone and one of the scareactors came over to the table and gave one of my friends a huge scare, it was very memorable. The Coven I dont have much to say about this one except, wow, the witches in the huts, they startled me from afar and I saw them scare many people very badly, awesome job Esqueleto Muerte So much color! I really loved how they did this one, I wasn't expecting the scareactors to really go in for a good startle but they did, one of them kept blocking my path, it was pretty funny.. The concept was very creative I loved it. overall, I think I personally enjoyed this year better than last year, it was the company, and my experiences, and the fact that we proved that you don't need an express pass necessarily if you plan ahead. I do wish Fear had been used more, but what they did do was overall very impressive and I hope next year surpasses this one
  2. To the entire cast of Catacombs, EXCELLENT job on friday ocotber 8th. Hands down the best house and scares. To the scareactors who changed casts at about one a.m right after the house was closed briefly, I loved how in character you all were, one of them pointed menacingly at our group as they passed us. Also one scareactor in particular around the middle of the house scared me so bad, and I screamed but I couldn't help but exclaim "But their costumes are so cool though!" the scareactor overheard me and leaned in and nodded enthusiastically. made my night! <BR><BR>also, The Usher in Fear Revealed at opening was very nice when I asked for a picture, I told him he was my favorite and he creepily said "Thank you"<BR><BR>also in Fear Revealed I did a man a favor and took a picture of his group and he felt the need to return the favor, he was quite drunk and wanted to play photographer. Myself and three friends gathered around The Director who the drunk man told to stand with us, Eddie joined us as did Fear and his minions but the man was having difficulty with my camera. I said "Thank you for your patience" because I felt kind of bad, so I hope these scareactors heard me, I appreciated it, great job guys.
