  1. You guys are great.

I figure my PT gear would work wonders as good scaring clothes....or under clothes...or hey! Underscare. Haha. The stuff works wonders when I wear it under my riding gear on long (500+ mile) days. I could just whip off my gear, pack it up, and I'd be ready to hop into whatever costume they have for me.

Hmm, that makes me wonder. What would you suggest for footwear? Or is that just determinate on what I would be cast as if I got cast?

Everything you've been told is great advice, it's all very true.

The biggest thing we see people doing each year, is over thinking this whole process.

Show up early, wait in line all day. Get inside, wait more. In the audition room introduce yourself, and follow instructions and be yourself! From there your told yes or no. It's just that simple.

I wear gym shorts and a tshirt. They could care less about what you wearing, as it will not affect them choosing you for a role. So just be comfortable. Heck, sometimes you've been casted before you've entered the room. They only need to know you can be outgoing and can interact, without touching the table!!!!

After all this the hardest part is waiting to receive your "code name" for your role, which gets you one step closer to being even more confused about everything. Fortunately we have the site to follow until rehearsals.

Rehearsals introduce you to everything horror nights. Rules, cast mates, your character, house/zone etc...

The entire process is fun, and youll meet a lot of great people along the way.

Again, just don't overthink this whole auditon process. It's simple and fun. They're more worried about your body type than anything. Yay for auditions almost being here!

  2. Yay, im gonna start talking again...sometimes

A New Era wouldn't mean taking a step back in time, but a step forward.

    Exactly!

Now things that have been talked about, as far as having an icon...or not. We generally seemed focused on the back story more than anything else. I for one prefer having an Icon, and universal has done wonderful jobs of creating and presenting them to us. But we crave a storyline. Icon or no icon, that's what would make us happy. We nit pick. They give us a crappy icon with an amazing back story, we are happy, but eh...wtf icon? They give us an amazing icon...less than pleasing back story. So give us a great story and event that works well together as a whole, and we'd surely be satisfied right now with no icon.

You think back to Bloody Mary. They surely scored on both here, great icon...great story...but then of course, she lacked presence in the park. As well as her house mostly being disliked.

We have many exciting months ahead of us to figure out just what A New Era will bring. And im looking forward to reading everything posted here as the year develops. Oh the excitement.

  3. While wearing HNN shirt i was approached by one of the CDT talking about nightmares it made me laugh that the afterthoughts are still interesting in character even without the chainsaws. Wonder who was he? anyways it's fun to watch the formation drilling on teenage girls.

    It was most likely me.

And. Teenage girls aren't the only targets ;) Males of any age and size work just as well.

  4. Okay, first and foremost... I wanna know who the HELL that CDT guy was that came tearing after me near the end of the night (10/7). I was the girl with the long hair and blue backpack. He came charging at me with the saw and I scurried away, expecting him to back off. Nope, he stayed on me and I just took off running. He chased me out of the zone, yelling a bunch of stuff. I didn't catch most of it but I heard "Nightmare" a bunch of times and "I can't wait (something)". Whoever that was, thanks, that was the best scare I got all night.

I got another good chainsaw scare from Giant, who charged at me screaming "I AM YOUR NIGHTMARE!" I ran from him only to get scared again by another chainsaw guy. lol. Also, thank you C_D (well, I think it was you) for the "Nightmares" shout out.

Thanks to Cast A Zombiegeddon for the extra attention. I didn't get many scares in half of the houses so it was much appreciated.

20 Years of Fear, holy SHIT. I don't know what cast it was, but I went through several times and only had 2-3 trips through where I did NOT get attacked. I got a kick out of the Wolfman who got in front of me and kept blocking my attempts to get past him (and then mimicked my annoyance, LOL). Alice poked fun at me after she scared me and the bloody cheerleader went after me three times. Good times, I loved this zone and it is currently my favorite.

Fear Revealed- Cast B Director chased me and came back to scare me again later. He creeps me out, so good job. Eddie sent me running at one point. The Caretaker tried to sneak up on me, but I caught him. lol

Hmm... I think that's everyone. Thanks to all you scareactors for making my first night at HHN a memorable one. Can't wait to do it again Friday night!

Haha, I'll say that most times HNN people don't seem to react in any way other than excitement and appreciation.

You were alone, so I took a chance and you ran! And kept running...I enjoyed it. Good fun.

  5. Blah blah blah. ;) I enjoyed my time roaming with the drill team. We definitely had lots of great scares. I've chose not to permanently stay with them, but it makes for a good watch with quality scares.

As opposed to people just walking around and having chainsaws roaming. It's fun seeing the crowds gather only to have pandemonium occur when all the saws rev up and guys go running. I'd say for most guests. Thank god for sidewalks.

  6. Wow...! You as an employee knows something we don't? That makes you a prophet!

seriously thou, I love the arrogant scareactors, who love to post things that mean nothing, so people will ask them... Just so they can say "I can't tell you." its so mature..

At any rate.. Even thou it was said that the humor house would not be the one we are thinking of... I have a feeling it is Zombiegeddon.

    Way to be rude.

People are misunderstanding the concept of what the house and sz being tied together is. All TMan was trying to do, is inform people of the misunderstanding. This is all, he in no way was acting as if he knows more than you. The fact is, yes we do. But we cannot say what to keep our jobs.

He was kind enough to correct the understanding of how they connect differently than old houses/sz's, now you know and will shortly find out how. There's no need to bring that poor attitude here like that. Dang

  7. For the most part I agree with this. Just a couple of corrections. Hallow'd Past (Parade building) and LT (SS22) will open at 5:45, not 5:30. Catacombs (Tent 1) and one of the SS23 houses will open at 6:00 and the other SS23 probably won't open until 6:30.

Just to clarify, this doesn't exactly apply to the AP early-entry nights.

Correct, at times they opened early...not always.

Last year, the few times i was in kidzone, both the tent and parade building opened at the same time. Though i always went parade building first, they may have just opened the line to the house for the tent.

As Bruins said, its a progression throughout the park, why its best to move quickly and be at the right place at the right time.

  8. Last year, my sign in time wasn't until later on, so I was able to make the openings of some houses. I experimented on different nights to see what was most effective. It was easy for me to just go through the SS houses, because when they opened people were still locked up in Finnegans. Now the holding pen for kidzone is directly at the entrances to the Parade Building and Tent 2? Meaning when they open at approximately 530, you've got two houses at your disposal. I could do all but, i'd say 1 or 2 houses before my call time at 7, and this is including seeing scarezones.

SOO, if the parade building opens at 530, run through that...head to tent 2...run to the SS, and your looking at 550-6 o'clock. Now you have 3-4 houses down by the time the park opens to guests. People will then fill up the front of the park, which will be the 2 SS houses and parade/tent house you've already done. Leaving you to now hit up the houses that are starting to open in the back.

  9. Okay after seeing that the commercial that I saw on the 1st and looking at the website, I think that the promotional materials this year are lackluster. When I live in Florida and was too young to go to the event, the commercials were the reason I want to go. Then I got into the websites, 2008 being my favorite. But it feels like Uni is alienating the devoted fans and catering to getting more general public in the park by the marketing that they are using.

This is going to be a little off topic, but to respond it's necessary.

This years event is actually catoring to the "fanboy" fan base. Where as in the past, the websites have been for the diehard fans and the event catering more to the GP. Last year as an example, movies and big names.

I would much rather have less than satisfying marketing as well as a basic website, to then have an incredible event that's geared toward "our" interests. We have the LT house, Cindys house, which essentially...she is a character whose backstory was really created by the fans.

So with that said, alienate me all you want from the marketing and lackluster website, and blow my mind with things in the park that I will love and understand much more than the GP. The GP will love and enjoy the event as well, though they won't know the full story and/or understand each and every bit of the event like we do.

  10. Well patrick has come out and said that for this year, there are no "safe zones". I mean, I can only assume that sidewalks will still be considered off-limits. But who knows, maybe we have a green light to do anything, anywhere. Also, if that's the case, outside of SnS, this could mean the return of the park wide wandering CDT. (since they haven't nessacarily been confirmed to a particular area this year)

Just pointing out the fact that they do say there will be no "safe zones" every year. we all know there are, and will be safe zones, or rather dead areas.

  11. Did you happen to peer inside to see what the collectible tickets look like? Or are those displays not up yet? A pic on another forum showed the "Tickets on Sale Here" sign with the burning lantern image we've been seeing...

I guess someone wanted to make a new thread for this, but no I didn't see anything different. I asked them

If they knew anything and their response was just the same we all know. "they've told us nothing yet!"

  12. Something I've always laughed about. People tend not to use their EP passes properly.

Last year for example, I got to see houses immediately when they opened since my call time wasn't till 7. Walking through the lines at around 530, there were people walking along side me in the EP line. Why?!

There are a total of 10 people in line!

Unless I'm wrong, I though EP was good once per house. Do as many houses as you can first, and only use the EP line as needed to get your extra visits.

  13. You must be very excited, as HHNO is worth the trip. Don't worry though, you won't be alone!

I'm on my phone, so I cannot paste the link. I suggest you read the HHN meet-up thread. That will show you who all will be attending the same night as yourself. From there just get in contact with them and you'll have people that would be more than happy to meet up with you.

Walking around HHN with diehard fans is different than attending with a general friend who enjoys the event.

  14. I've been thinking about the new passes, with the addition of Fridays on the FFP and the express pass options.

With so many people possibly buying the express pass, this will not only back up the express line, but the regular lines as well. Having to make sure they are getting express people into the house as well as making sure the regular line isn't stalling may prove to be difficult.

Hopefully for you guys, this will not be the case, though I have a feeling the lines may be affected differently this year.

The only things to make a difference would be HRRR and the new show which hopefully will attract larger amounts of people.

  15. I don't think the shows are in the photos. I figured it was just 8 houses + 6 zones like always. No need to fix something that isn't broken.

agreed, though since they did cast people in San Fran, that makes for 7 SZ's. unless that is they are not using one of the zones from the past. i have not heard of anyone being cast in production central, so possibly they have just relocated a zone.

  16. It feels like a SZ to me, like a Street. Kind of like AIW with the tweedles.

    14 photos total

8 Mazes ( Which we now see six of them )

4 Zones ( Which we have two of them )

    2 Shows ( Not revealed yet )

    Im guessing.

curious why your guessing four zones?

I was under the impression we were to have 7 with the addition of San Fran this year.

  17. Very good observation Dr Jimmy. Let's hope that something good happens, and I believe that the website will be updated mre frequently since there is only month and a half untill opening night. :-)

Yep, not to long now. But most information will be out by the end of this month. Once rehearsals start, there won't be anything to hide anymore. Those begin I believe the first week of sept. So as said, I see the next few weeks to be pretty jam packed with good stuff.

  18. The good thing about seeing pictures like those, for most at least, is that is settles the stomach and eases the mind. Wait j/k it only makes things more hectic. Knowing many of the roles, and now seeing some scenes, its all about making 2+2=4.

Dr. Jimmy, as always you can throw out 5 ideas, and we'd all be more than happy to see any. I like your idea of the orphanage and kids being kept in cages. I can only imagine walking into a place with kids who have been held captive as such for so long, only to be let out leaving me to defend myself.

What are they fed, how are they treated? other than the clear horrid living conditions.

Knowing that things are going to begin, at least that's assumed, on the website. I'm looking forward to seeing what speculation actually falls into place. Finally an opportunity to get everyone on the same page, rather than the many wild ideas...though somewhat entertaining, also sometimes just  .

I'd have to say im most excited to see all of the things we have yet to even speculate on. Hopefully there will be things that will make us stop and just go, nice one A&D.
