Because it is not. The ONLY reason I go and spend just a ticket to get in is because I don't want to miss a year since I've been going to since HHN 14. No more money on drinks/food, no more on memorabilia, no more on extra tours, I don't speak highly of it to friends, nothing.
Yet here you are. I've grown to hate the television show Arrow. You know what I did as soon as I realized I no longer enjoyed it? Unsubscribed from the Reddit page dedicated to Arrow.

I can't imagine that the houses were that much better back in the day with a smaller budget. However, I'd imagine that the scare zones were probably way better since there was no parade and a lot less people. What I don't like is how much the price has steadily increased each year for the same quality or less in some instances. The people paying full price for one night without express and no stay and scream are definitely getting hosed.
The Exorcist felt like Hot Topic??? IT'S THE POWER OF CHRIST!
I've been going since 2007, and I don't feel as though houses were particularly better than any house we have now. People are simply nostalgic and remembering them to be grander that they actually were. OR they are the "nanny boo-boo" type that only talk about the good ol' days because they are gone and know a lot of people will never get a chance to see them. I had a friend when living in Orlando that always talked about how Disneyland was SOOOO much better than Disney World. Disney World was stupid and should be put out of its misery because of how inferior it was. Disneyland, now THAT was what Disney World should be. But... after the first time I got to go to Disneyland... "You should see DisneySea. It makes Disneyland look like crap. I don't even enjoy Disneyland anymore."
These people are one in the same.

I pictured it more as yelling up from his parent's basement.

I cringed so hard, twice in a short time-frame, that it made all the muscles in my neck and shoulders hurt. Bravo!

Kinda disappointed that it's HHN 27. I thought 25 was a "one time thing" with not using the Roman Numerals....like how 16 did it since it was a special number that played into something. 26 and now 27. I would have prefered XXVII...but guess it's at least better than calling it HHN 2017.
Not sure if you were ever a WWF/WWE fan, but this is how I feel about WrestleMania. It was always roman numerals until 13 - which is similar to HHN's "interesting number" thought process - then WrestleMania 2000 - which again makes sense. Then it got weird and we got X-7 for the 17th WrestleMania. But now we just get WrestleMania Play Button (WM 31) or WrestleMania Dallas Cowboys Logo (WM 32). Haha.

That's my fear too. It might be another way for them to combat crowds. Instead of offering a cheaper, multi night option, make everybody pay each night they want to attend and there won't be as many repeat people.
However, on the flip side, they might be trying to sell single night tickets first to better gauge express pass costs and to get people to buy tickets full price instead of getting the cheaper multi night option later on. I don't recall them ever putting single night tickets on sale before any other pass type though.
They make too much money off overcrowding and alcohol sales. Plus, I believe FFP and such get posted closer to summer in previous years.

Tickets are up. This confirms it. No more FFP.

Relax: I'm kidding and I'm sure it's coming.

Well, does this seem appropriate for this year? Go to 0:40 specifically...
The year before they had people walking around with assault rifles in the scarezone. No thanks. Not this year.

If The Purge was actually being considered to come back this year in ANY form, I am 100% certain that that is now off the table.

Found ridiculously cheap flights to Orlando and I was thinking about booking this week. Is it a lock that the second week of the event will be Thursday (9/22), Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Has anyone heard differently for this year?

What do the playing cards look like? There are SO MANY OF THEM. I swear I could spend a mint in the merch store this year .... Anyway though, do they have like...scenes from the movies on them or are they just regular cards with (Freddy/whatever) on the back?
They are BS. Aside from the Joker cards which have Jack on them, all the playing cards look like an ordinary deck. Pretty disappointed in how lackluster they are. For $10 I expected better.

You're too kind. Thank you.

I made a separate thread showing how I turned the Jack Mask into a pretty cool bust for my collection...
-
I bought the Jack mask that was being sold at HHN 25 and turned it into a bust of sorts for my shelf.
Here are the parts I used:
- Jack Mask
- Orange and Red costume contacts
- Styrofoam Head
- Ping pong balls
- Sculpey
- Wooden Plaque for base
- Vintage Circus Polka Dot Fabric
- Red Stripped fabricThe first thing I did was cut the ping pong balls in half, and then cut them down into football shapes. I had dried out the contact lenses when they arrived, but I didn't attach them to the ping pong balls yet.
I measured the eye holes around the mask to see what part of the styrofoam head would be seen. There is lots of extra room around the eyeholes, so I knew I had to bring out the eye sockets. Once I removed the mask from the head I sculpted eye-lids onto the head and used the clay to hold the ping pong balls in place. I played with the contact lenses to find the best position and then super glue them into place.
The next step was to fix the awful hair. The easiest thing to do is grab as much hair as you can from the sides of the face, take it over the top of the "pig tails" and then hot glue them into place. You can then cut off any extra pieces that didn't stick or lay flat. For the hair that hangs down on the side, you can roll is in your hand to get it curly and more knotted looking. This will make a huge difference.
The next step was to hot glue the styrofoam head into the mask using hot glue. Not too difficult, but it takes a little trial and error to get the newly sculpted eyes to sit right inside the mask. I used a little glue around the eye sockets of the mask to get the mask to lay more flush.
I then attached the styrofoam head/mask combo to the wooden base to keep it sturdy. The plaque didn't need to be anything special since I would be covering it with fabric -- which I chose not to hot glue, but instead just draped around the head.
The fabric was tea-stain and briefly rubbed in my firepit to give it a few random black stains. I also ripped up and frayed some edges of the red stripped fabric. After than it was just a matter of positioning the fabrics around the head.
I may eventually go back and have the polka dots fabric sewn into ruffles to look more like his collar. I'm also debating bloodying the center up a little bit.
Here is the final product...
And just for fun, here is what it looked like as a mask when I tried it on last week...

For what it's worth, those last 11 or 12 are about on par with each other and could be moved around and it wouldn't make much difference. Pretty much anything lower on that list than Alice Cooper was a missed opportunity.

Possible GAT in the first room, the coin looking things on the sheet music.
Tis simply there to hold it down. You'll see them all over the place on things that would otherwise be easy to snatch up.
-
Should just be a media item.
-
I didn't understand the beefed-up Freddy. What was that all about?
And in the finale, both times we saw Freddy floating/hanging by wires and Jason slashing next to him. What was supposed to happen here?

Go figure. Should have just used Usher or even Mary if they are still going to get busted for using Chucky. lol

Ahh, I see. Still, the resemblance is uncanny. Thanks for pointing it out though
So then it's She-Bat / Francine Langstrom.

Do they sell the cups during the day, or is it only once the event starts?
It'd be great if we could buy one during the day while we are there and keep using it all night. -
there was a winner in the movie...
Nah. At least not a clear winner.
