  1. I'm not arguing the fact that the character design is lifted from Buffy.

I'm arguing that they aren't popular BECAUSE of their connection to Buffy. I promise you 99% of people at HHN don't know they are originally from Buffy.

I loved BC before I ever knew of it's Hush basis. And if you ask any of my filthy casual friends who have never watched an episode of Buffy and only went to HHN 25, they'd still tell you that The Gentlemen were the best part of that year aside from Jack. (Though they will probably refer to them as the Bone Collectors.)

You arent familiar with WESKER are you? LOL

Never heard of him. He wrong often?

I usually just lurk these days, but the whole "Body Collectors is only successful because of Buffy" comment literally made me choke on my own spit from laughing so hard, that I felt compelled to comment after I nearly died from laughing at how stupid of a comment that was.

Well, as I've said, I'm a wuss who loves haunts but needs pretty thorough prep to enjoy it...I hadn't prepped for HOS, ended up being invited to go on a whim (the weekend we all had to evacuate for the hurricane, no less) and didn't realise how different the vibe was from HHN.  I was in bad shape after a couple of houses and I was in tears by the time we made it to Motel Hell. It was pretty empty that night so my group was going through alone. Not sure where, but an SA noticed and I vividly remember them shouting 'crybaby'. Very uncool. I get messing with people who look scared but I was in a full-blown panic attack. I know there are people who could brush that off easily but it stuck with me.

Based on this and your previous comments... might I suggest Mickey's?

And don't get me STARTED on the random self-harm that got removed from last year's 3D house...

I know exactly which part you're talking about and I was surprised that was there.

Remind me what this was that you are referring to. I remember seeing something and being surprised they did it, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Help?

That looks like something from Knockturn Alley. Your friend might just be screwing with you.

Honestly, my first thought was it was just a picture from the scarezone a couple years back. But it didn't look familiar and I didn't see it in any pictures.

Could be him screwing with me, but given what he has access to it wouldn't be far-fetched to believe it was actually something from this year.

Does that skull have a snake coming out of its mouth? If so, could it be a hint about the death eaters!? I see potions in the background!

I really can't tell. I lightened it as much as I could without washing it out completely. I thought it was someone holding it, but now that you mention it being a snake, it does looks too skinny to be someone's wrist. Unless it's just a giant skull?

  7. Got a friend that is "in-the-know" but won't ever give me any details (I have to find out most things from this forum). Either he sent me this as a red herring since he knows what I'll assume, or this was some kind of reward/tease and was sent to me as a legit hint. Does anyone know if there was some kind of commercial or photo shoot recently? That would make a lot more sense if so.

EDIT: Just for clarification. I don't think this was taken from inside a house. Wouldn't it be too early to have show lights? It also wouldn't make much sense for him to be inside the physical set up, which is why I ask if anyone knew of a photoshoot or commercials being shot.

Double edit: This photo was shared with permission. Again, no idea what it pertains to, if anything.

This is Hollywood, Orlando was already announced. Hollywood will be only Roanoke, yes.

Only Hollywood is getting Roanoke.  We are getting Asylum, Coven, and Roanoke.

My mistake. I knew we were getting AHS, but didn't know it had been confirmed which season. Just noticed this on the website...

This all-new house will feature brand new content from Season 2: Asylum, Season 3: Coven and Season 6: Roanoke. And to really blow it out, we're using our largest floor plan—aka our uber-maze—to bring to life the three incredibly detailed seasons.

  9. Edit: Disregard. Didn't pay close enough attention to the Twitter account and thought this was pertaining to Orlando.

So I guess this confirms that the house will be Roanoke only? Weren't we thinking originally that it would be all the seasons that weren't included last year?

  10. Got a pop up survey on the HHN website. Nothing too interesting. "Does AHS make you more interested, less interested, or no change in attending the event?", "Where do you plan on buying tickets?", "Where did you hear about the HHN website?", etc.

And while I personally don't really feel one way or another, I got you, fam...

Yes yes yes. If anything the quality of house videos has gotten WAY better.

There were many, many people that (at the time, at least) HATED 14-17, saying things pretty similar to the things he posts--"HHN used to be the best Halloween event but is now a sad shell of its former self!" was a statement I heard regularly as a lurker 10+ years ago. If the Vault were still around, it would be surprising to see how negative some of the reviews for those years were.

Amen. I remember after 17 there were lots of people dogging on the event because of the lack of elaborate scarezones and saying that the event as a whole was a bust. Fast forward ten years later and it is regarded as one of the best years.

I'll just leave this here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosy_retrospection

  12. Wouldn't Insidious and the Conjuring be pretty redundant? They are very similar in a lot of ways. My wife and I sometimes have a hard time remembering which scenes were from the Insidious films and which were in the Conjuring films. Is it just us that thinks they are too similar for the same HHN year?
