  1. Gambit. This is awesome! Great job (and now I can forgive you for stealing the username I wanted ). Thanks! And for everyone- you guys rock! I thought I was obsessive about HHN and trying to find the music but you guys put me to shame. Keep up the good work everyone!
  2. Right?!?!? One thing that HHN has NEVER had a problem with is attendance. Whoever said that was smoking something strong.
  3. Great review! I agree 100% on Hallow'd Past. I loved it but wish they would have had more variety in the different houses represented. Definitely needed a nod to Dungeon of Terror! And, yes, Bill & Ted was a complete waste of time this year.
  4. Thanks for writing this up! I do the same thing with the fog. I love how it smells and it immediately transports me back to HHN I also agree about Catacombs. I loved the sets and theming but 75% of the scareactors seemed to be plague doctors and all looked exactly the same. Plus- even if it's "historically accurate" they still look like Spy vs. Spy and it's just laughable for most casual attendees. And don't let internet trolls get you down. Some people have nothing better to do than go online and flame complete strangers from the safety of their keyboards. It's ridiculous. Eff 'em!
  5. Good review, man. Again, sorry I missed you. Was this your first time going to HHN Orlando? I still think it's the best Halloween event in the country and kicks the crap out of ours here in Hollywood (which in turn kicks the crap out of Knott's... it's all relative). This was my 10th year at HHN Orlando and I would put it pretty much in the middle. It was solid all around but not nearly as amazing as some past years. Last year's triple whammy of Wolfman, Dracula, and Frankenstein was freaking EPIC!
  6. Great review! So it's so interesting that the Zombies in your house are freed by the crashed float. I completely did NOT get that by walking through the house. It's a great idea and makes the house so much better. But I don't think it's nearly clear enough. Where was Bloody Mary in PsychoScareapy? Hades- great house but, yeah, what's the deal with the empty throne. What an odd decision! And I liked Legendary Truth far better than you but I completely agree about the masks!!! They took away from the experience so much! I said the same thing: "why didn't they just paint their faces with glow in the dark paint?" It would have been far creepier!
  7. It always seems like they have the best intentions with pulsing the lines but, as the night gets busier, it kind of goes out the window. Or even if they do pulse it, I always end up catching up to the group ahead of us anyway. Pulsing does make for a better experience but, with the crowds they have to manage, I have just sort of accepted the conga lines as a necessary evil. In other news, I'll finally be hitting HHN XX on Thursday!
  8. Well damn. I loved how they put Bloody Mary into ALL the houses in 2008 and was hoping they'd do something similar this year with Fear. At the very least, I thought it would make sense for him to be the finale of Hallow'd Past. Ah well. 8 more days until I get to experience it for myself!
  9. Random question for those of you who have gone: does Fear make an appearance in any of the houses? I've heard the only place to see him is at Fear Revealed.
  10. I actually like this idea. Give the icons a rest but it would be cool if they gave them cameos in houses in the future. Don't advertise it but just leave them as little Easter eggs for the fans. Keep creating new nicons to headline the event though. I love the characters they come up with.
  11. I'm always pumped for the event! Can't wait to get there. Then I'm in line for the house and can't wait to get inside. As soon as we're about to enter, I turn to someone and I'm like "you go first". A few years ago, I went through a house or two and it wasn't nearly as scary and I was so afraid I had gotten too desensitized to it. But, not to worry, it came right back.
  12. I won't flame ya. From the photos I've seen, I'm disappointed too. Shhhhh... don't tell anyone. I guess I think the characters of Nightmare and Darkness from previous years were far more epic and imposing than what Fear ended up being, ya know?
  13. Well, remember that cannot say the words "Bloody Mary". So I'm sure he avoided it on purpose. He sure does make everything sound great. I love his enthusiasm. It's infectious. You can tell that he's just as big a HHN geek as we are. So awesome. I've got to say the only thing I'm not amped about is the Havoc house. Military and soldiers just doesn't sound very scary or Halloween-y to me. But according to some past posts,. it's sounds like there are a lot of you that are pumped for it. I guess it's just personal taste. It's just not my thing. Great to hear about The Coven embracing the iconography of Halloween itself. I always like them to include that along with all the original content every year (like The Hallow did 2 years ago).
  14. Re: all the talk of "sexy" Fear. Lol. It looks like he might go right in line with Universal Orlando's two rules for live entertainment: #1- take off their clothes #2- put them on stilits. And done.
  15. Ahhhh... cool. Thanks for clarifying. It's interesting because I've seen different levels of reactions from SA's when it comes to taking photos. Some will take off as soon as they see a camera, trying to avoid the photo like their job depends on it. Some will slow down long enough for you to get a picture but won't actually "pose" with you. And then some will pose with you (choke you, hold their knife to you, etc.). Obviously I prefer the final one because it makes for great pictures but I was always curious on what you all were instructed to do.
  16. I think the official policy is always that the scareactors are not allowed to stop and take pictures with guests. But, well, that never really happens. Which is fine by me. I love taking pics with the monsters in the Scare Zones. Maybe someone working the event this year can give us the official perspective. And, yeah, we can enjoy Bloody Mary while she's around (even if we can't call her by name)
  17. Nice find! Thanks for sharing Dave. Of course, I feel I've been mislead. That's still not a "full reveal". It's just most of his head and face. Sigh... will there be no full reveal until we go to the event? Oh, and it's such a shame the Bloody Mary can't be included. Poor girl is missing out on all the fun. And the Caretaker still scares the crap outta me. 7 more days...
  18. I have noticed that the look of the Storyteller has changed in the different incarnations. You can forgive it for the scareactor in the house because they need a few of them and it's hard to get them all to look exactly the same. But, yes, her accent should at least be consistent. They've also changed the actor who plays the Director. It was one guy originally and a new one for Sweet 16 and XX. It happens. Thanks NickC for uploading the commercial. One more thing- there's now a game on the website where, if you beat it, you get the full reveal of Fear. Haven't beaten it yet. maybe if I get bored enough tonight. Of course, I'm kind of just waiting for one of you more ambitious folks to beat it for me and share the pic
  19. More from Fear! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5hWJBSb6QQ Also this one. Best look of Fear yet at 1:00.
  20. Doesn't it seem that USF has a standard specialty drink for Mardi Gras and HHN? Last year it was called "Hair of the Wolf" and it's basically Red Bull and Rum? Whatever's in it, it's good stuff!
  21. Hey all- just joining the board! Long time HHn fan here. I've been going since 2000 so this will be my 11th year! Anyway- great to see Eddie will be represented in some form at the event. Obviously, Hallow'd Past or 20 Years of Fear are the most likely places he could pop up. But I love the idea of him leading the Chainsaw Drill Team! As for whoever had the idea of lights flickering in the bathroom? I love it! It's similar to PS: Maximum Madness during Sweet 16. Remember, every 13 minutes or so the place would shut down, the lights would go out, and you'd just hear Jack laughing? That was a great effect! Loved it! And, at the risk of getting ripped into, I actually enjoy taking pictures with the scareactors in the SZ's. I look forward to it. You can't get any pics in the houses so that's your chance to capture the event for future posterity. I know they're supposed to be out scaring you but I never find the SZ'z scary anyway. They're more just cool and fun. You can always see them coming so I'm never taken by surprise. Just my 2 cents.
