  1. I just wanna say right now that... if there is such a bandwagon, I'm jumping on the "do Scream justice for 2012" one. I don't care if it's the Terror Tram or in a maze, but I want it done RIGHT.

AMEN TO THAT!!! Why bother getting the rights if you're just gonna throw some Ghostfaces into the same old TT? Let's get a real maze, you know, with actual locations and scenes from the movies.

  2. I expect next year's Terror Tram to be much better since they will have gotten that financial obstacle of building those out of the way. They can simply just reuse them and use the budget for the TT on the things that Murdy has wanted.

Every year we say this, and every year the Terror Tram is essentially the same. It feels like the biggest repeat of all. I'm so bored with it.

  3. Yeah, I always have a great time so it's all good. I love Halloween and HHN is like pizza and sex, even when it's bad, it's goooooooood

You can just see the growing pains. We get an extra maze and some original content (yay!) but recycled SZs (snooooore). I just want the event to get to a point where everything is new and exciting. Instead of "we'll do these four new houses and everything else the same as last year". We have a long way to go if we're going to be at Orlando's level.

At least the repeats in TT (more or less) and HOTC allows me extra time to enjoy the new mazes more than once. If I have a chance to do La Llorona twice or instead of HOTC, that's what I'm doing!

  4. Thanks for sharing Freak! I can't wait to go on Friday!

Sounds like La Llorona is a highlight (and very popular as well) which makes me happy. Hopefully that means more risks being taken with original content in the future.

The SZ's all completely sound like rehashes of last year's, which is so disappointing. Have you seen/read about Orlando's SZs? Nightmaze? Acid Assault? Grown Evil? Some truly original, unique, and creative stuff happening over there! The very least they could do here is change the theming a bit.

And I'm about over the Terror Tram. The video changes but everything else seems to stay the same. It's a huge time suck and I'm starting to wonder if it's worth doing anymore. What a sad waste of Scream. We all know how much more could be done with it.

Ah well, at least we got an extra maze this year and some original content. It sounds like the new houses are all great. I just want to see the event firing on all cylinders sometime in the near future.

  5. I've always been a fan of holiday mashups, probably starting when I was a kid and fell in love with the Rankin-Bass "Here Comes Peter Cottontail." To see that sort of thing gone very wrong, combined with a cheesy horror show host (I grew up with Svengoolie in Chicago) appeals to me on many levels.

SVENGOOLIE!!!!!!!!! I loved that guy and it's the big reason I'm looking forward to this house! Chicago represent!!!! :D

I am looking forward to this house mostly for the theme of holidays gone wrong. Sounds like it takes a few trips through to see all the effects?

  6. Thanks for sharing!!!! I won't be able to see the event until 10/27 so I'm living vicariously until then. Great news about Winter's Night! It's easily my most anticipated! I am not a fan of 3D houses myself but everything I'm hearing sounds like they pulled it off with The In Between. I cannot wait!!! :D

  7. Well guys tomorrow is the big day that we been waiting for all year !! :) We've come along way from speculating and need i say we did a GREAT job guessing all the properties this year. (pats everyone on the back) The anticipation is killing me. I know HHN will not disappointment. I'm just ready to see how everything is put together. I'm going in with positive vibes on everything...well at least til i experience it hands on :D I hope everyone has a good time and enjoys themselves because i know i will. I wont be posting tomorrow because i'll be going straight up there but i will make sure to give my reviews come saturday on everything. Well Happy Halloween Halloween Haunts to everyone i bid you fair well. See you all there !!! :)

HERE HERE!!!!! Cheers!!! I won't be there until next Friday so I'll look forward to everyone's reviews until then.... but HAPPY HAUNTING EVERYONE!!! :D

  8. Good review! Thanks for the writing it up! Nice to hear that Nightmaze isn't as bad as others are saying. I think it has a lot of promise and I really hope they pull it off!

  9. Nope. Besides the Tram Videos and Ghostface, there was no extra Scream theming. The Scream scare zone is pretty bare bones too: Ghostface Statue, Lights, and Go Go Dancers in bloody bodybags.

Sigh... Sadness :( I'm not surprised. I expected to get more or less the same TT as always but, still, what a waste of Scream. Ah well. I can do it once, scratch it off my list, and spend the rest of my time at the mazes.

  10. I'm a fan of the Scream films, so I was really looking forward to the Terror Tram. Well, the video on the tram was cool. It would be freaking cool to have a documentary style Scream film .

Ghostface is everywhere on the backlot, and I mean EVERYWHERE, including the Bates Motel. The chainlink fence maze was really good. It's full of Ghostface actors trying to stab you . It was the only highlight of the tram. Otherwhise, it's the same Terror Tram as previous years.I did see a lot more Bushmen though.

There were no other enhancements to the TT? No extra facades? Scream theming? Stab-a-thon theming?

  11. ^ I'm sure Alice had his input!

    AC: Make it scary.

    JM: Right, right.

    AC: Like, really scary.

    JM: That's what we do.

AC: I'm trying to promote a new album with this.

    JM: Got it.

AC: I want my image present at all times.

JM: So you want it to have iconic images that represent you?

AC: Yeah, you know that eye make up I wear?

    JM: Ofcourse.

AC: Let's just put that - - on fuckin everything. I think people think it's scary.

    JM: It's terrifying, Mr. Cooper.

AC: So the more of that, the better.

    JM: Right, right.

AC: And when I say everything, I mean everything. I want the monsters to all be representative of me.

JM: So like an Alice Cooper maze like how we have a Jason or Freddy maze?

AC: Yes, just with different versions of me. And then the eye make up on everything else.

    JM: You got it.

AC: So you heard the new album right? You gonna incorporate it into the maze?

JM: Yup, got it all mapped out, people will love it.

AC: Good... because I'm a scary guy and the eye make up sells it with my image, with the music playing, it'll be a good cross promotion.

JM: That's what we're aiming for.

AC: Other than that, go nuts.

    JM: Will do! Yippee!!!!

This is HILARIOUS! And I know funny. I'm a clown fish...

  12. Wow, those clips from Dr. Who are really impressive (I should watch that show more). These Weeping Angels really seem like they could be the new Body Collectors in that they're supernatural creatures based on an awesome TV series. I hope they take inspiration from the actual creature's behavior in the show (i.e., have them remain completely still until the "blue light" extinguishes, then they move forward and get in guests faces for when the light goes back on). Huge potential here!

It remains to be seen if they just took the look of the weeping angels from Dr. Who as an homage or if they're really trying to recreate the characters and their behaviors as well. I'm with you though. It's an AWESOME concept and I'd love to see them taken full advantage of!!!

  13. Not to prolong the "roof" debate (I think at this point it's beating a dead horse, some are bothered by it some can go either way) I will say that the ops are without a doubt the biggest potential detractor of a house. Good god, can they please get some actual training? It absolutely ruins the experience for them to wave around their flashlights and shriek to keep moving. It's awful. I know where to go. Only step in and assist guests when they appear lost (read: NOT MOVING SLOWLY, LOST) or are causing some sort of trouble.

In Catacombs for the final night last year, weren't all the ops wearing creepy hoods? I wish they could try that for all the ops this year. Would help at least a little.

You think it's bad in Orlando? Visit the "Terror Tram" here in Hollywood!!! Wow. The loudest, rudest crew members I've ever seen. They make the Orlando Ops people seem like well-mannered Disney people

Oh, we're so on a tangent. So back on subject: Yay Forsaken!!! ;)

  14. You're right, most people start swaying and grip the sides of the tunnel in HoH, the Mummy tunnel is twice as long as that isn't it?

Personally, I miss the blacklit Mummy guards in the tram tunnel.. if some time can be invested, it would be cool if they would use the glow in the dark paint to make the tunnel tied to the Terror Tram. Aside from the on-tram video that gives a reason why we're sprayed from the sides, of course. Like say for this year, it would be a nice little detail to paint the Ghostface mask on the walls of the tunnel. Just saying. But that would be too much money and mostly time for them to invest, right?

I like this idea a lot. Of course, I'd rather skip the tunnel all together. It's played out and boring. Just save us the time and drop us back off. Last year, one the the tour guides had us bypass the tunnel and we all thanked her profusely ;)

  15. maybe i am the only one but seeing the pics and the videos of forsaken and acid rain, im starting to literally getting goosebumps, this looks like it might end up being one of the best years of HHN, the zones are looking amazing and the houses are looking amazing , which is rarely the case,

i mean, it might be too early to tell, but, all this new effects, amazing concepts, scary costumes,

i am really getting anxious and getting goosebumps about the event, plus, is in 7 Days, that makes me feel really nervous

Totally agree. It's really looking like they pulled out the stops this year and there's not a single "lazy" house or SZ in the batch (that I can tell). Everything is looking really fantastic!!!! :D

  16. As you said, better late than never! I love reading these because it's like a little trip down memory lane. I totally agree that the Wolfman house was amazing and one for the books! And I also have never been a fan of "humor houses" like Cleaver. Thanks for sharing. :)
