  1. They'll be covered up....some of the props need to be out for rehearsals I think
  2. The brain fire on the mummy is actually a design nightmare...I was working on a similar version for the Singapore ride and yeah...nightmare LOL. It will be interesting to see how they pull off the live fire effect while making the area workable for actors
  3. Nope....that actor probably just knew the person in front of you
  4. I'm gussing the cart on wheels is for the Rat Lady...stone columns I see in either Shrek alley or in NY
  5. I don't think people are ready for this hehe
  6. Tman, I wouldn't make your role public if I were you
  7. Congrats! Hope to see ya out there As far as the 60% cast, I'm sure that just was in reference to permanent roles...many of those parts do get cast the first night. They always need ABU's and FC because people turn roles down or drop out all the time. Many ABU's end up being cast in permanent roles due to dropouts before or during the event. Keep auditioning until they stop holding them!!! Don't give up those who haven't been cast yet!
  8. basically she picks up a stack of papers with people to call and she goes through those...then she goes to the next pile and so on
  9. Yay I finally got my call! let's just say I'm all revved up for my role
  10. I'm in the same boat...still no call yet Hopefully Monday
  11. So I got my call yesterday, but due to horrible reception in my office it went straight to voicemail hopefully she calls back tomorrow
  12. Your neighborhood giant will be lurking in the shadows for the 4th year...can't wait to get to scaring!
  13. The only problems I've ever had with it...#1 being flashed in the face when working in houses...that hurts! And one night working Fractured Tales as the Pied Piper (my only night there) at one point I had a line of people wanting pictures...I was like no and skipped off. Please don't form a line for pictures with actors.
  14. Honestly, I wouldn't work the event if they didn't have metal detectors in place at the front gate.
  15. We do get all the full perks of regular team members (aside from insurance, etc) Regular scareactors get minimum...if you have a role that involves "stunt" work (ie flying, costume like Meety Meetz, chainsaw etc) or if you are in a show you get paid more. And C_D is right on the money. if it is your first year, don't try to push the limits. you'll learn new scare tactics and learn to form your own boundaries of how to scare and not get hit/abused. nobody should do things like I do LOL I do what I do because I know how to do it and be safe...
  16. Yeah I'd like to agree with this. Lots of people who realize what the job really is after a few days of doing this they drop out and create holes in the event...which people complain about later on when there are not enough ABU and FC to fill the holes. This is an EXTREMELY physically demanding job. You will hurt in places you didn't know you had, you will sweat more than you thought possible and you may come to hate people with every fiber of your being. However, once you get someone to scream, you will be hooked If you're up to the challenge, please do audition There's a reason this will be my 4th year doing this
  17. Lets see...can't remember any epic scares I received in 2005 or 2006.... 2007: The Thing- holy sh*t my first run through this house was the most epic run of any house I've ever been through...I was targeted for every single scare in that house...the big one came in the pool table room, where I had backed up into the puppet/animatronic thing in the corner, turned around and nearly pissed myself...I trampled my friend to get out of there hehe...after the run I had to get to the nearest bar to calm my nerves Dead Silence- The hallway...a Mary Shaw came up almost underneath me and made me jump about 3 feet in the air Personal Epic Scare of the year: Working in Friday the 13th- the last night I got one of the most epic scares I've ever gotten...this girl was tiptoeing down my little hall and I peeked out and saw her, so I rushed her and smacked my machete on the wall about a foot above her head and she fell backwards around the corner into her friends, causing a pile up. I reset myself in a different place and waited for her, jumped out, chased her around the first sleeping bag hanging from the ceiling about three times until she collapsed, screaming that she peed herself...I ran backstage because I was laughing so hard 2008: Scary Tales 3- the bear popped out in front of my face and I hit the floor. Also the witch in the hansel and gretel room hid herself quite well and caused me to shake all over and crouch down LOL Personal Epic Scare of the year: Working Doomsday- My best friend and I were working the same room (Jail Cell Hallway) and we popped out at this girl at the same time...she screamed and toppled over herself, backwards, smacking her head on a barrel. Long story short she had to be escorted out of the house in a wheelchair...and the funny part was is that the wheelchair in question belonged to a girl in her party, who had to exit the house on crutches....horrible, yet funny hehe Working Streets of Blood- this one girl was terrified and I got to chasing her a bit, and the other actors were scaring her back into the zone. All spectators were laughing their asses off...afterwords I was told I wasn't allowed to chase (I honestly didn't know that) but was told that my scare was brilliant...so it made me feel good 2009- Best scare I received was from Chucky. The teddy bear guy made me jump 3 feet in the air, hit the ground and a slew of profanities ensued LOL. Sad part was I knew the character was there....just didn't know where hehe Personal Epic Scare of the year: Working in Frankenstein: I chained myself up in the corner in the Jail Hall, and waited for a group to come in. I saw them, looked up and started going ape sh*t at them. The man and woman screamed, snuck past and were scared also by the other guy in the room. I looked in the doorway, saw this little woman, maybe 5'2 and had the absolute fear of God in her eyes. I'd never seen anyone so terrified...so what did I do? I thrashed even harder, getting up on the stool, broke my hands loose and jumped at her...she screamed and ran backwards. The two people who were before her went to go get her, and I went into my little hallway. I poked my head out and just beckoned to her with my finger while the people were leading her out saying they'd protect her, at which time the other guy in my room popped out and scared the ever living crap out of her too hehe. It was absolutely beautiful hehe

yeah if it was a ginormous guy where I was then yeah it was me but I probably couldn't hear you...unfortunately this year being on the street and with a chainsaw, I hesitate to actually touch anyone this year...in a house its much easier to get away with hehe

hey my names heather im new to this site do you work at halloween horror nights

  19. Honestly I wouldn't put any zones any farther back than SF street or Kidzone area...having the zombies back by MIB/Simpsons last year was okay because there weren't too many of them so it didn't cause a big problem with crowds...the main issue is that area can get so gridlocked with people...Amity having Jaws, B&T and a house is always nuts nowadays and they have MIB/Simpsons and a house entrance and the exit of 2 over there, plus not to mention when there's a B&T dump...if they do anything in the MIB or Amity area, it would have to be something small like the zombies last year
