  1. I have a question for previous scareactors. I know Universal wants actors to work the full event, and if you request too much time off at auditions it will hurt your chances of getting casted. I was wondering how much time is asking for too much? Is asking for 2 or 3 days off the season too much?

Yes and no. I've been doing HHN for the past 5 years and only asked 1 weekend off and I did not get cast...A bit of a shock to me and several other long-time vets who did not cast as well. I know someone who asked for 6 events off and still was cast. I know for the most part its body type they are looking for. And it seemed to me the big and tall guys are not being cast much this year.

As I said it was a shock, however I had made the decision at the end of last years run to retire on top (HoTY and Performer of the year for Gothic) but I wanted to "ween off" the event. For all the future scareactors (and the current and former ones will probably agree) this is an addiction. Once you get in you can't wait for the next year and the next year. I didn't want to end it "cold turkey" but I guess I don't have a choice.

  2. I would like to thank all of YOU who have given me an awesome 6 years of scaring. I said last year was going to be my last year, but I came back one more time to scare. This year is my LAST year and I'm sticking to my guns on that one.

Thank you to everybody who walked through your dreams in Nightmare on Elm Street, faced the evil queen in Scary Tales III, went up to Carey, Ohio and ate some delicious meets in Leave it to Cleaver, met the Wolfman in 20 Years of Fear, tried your luck with the Spade Minions in Your Luck Has Run Out, and finally faced the walkers in The Walking Dead.

I appreciate all of the spooks and scares I was able to give everybody.

    Thank you all.

I think I might be with you on the retirement thing. 5 years of this and it was AWESOME!! I am considering making one more run next year only if I'm in a street for thats the only thing I have yet to experience. But if I go out this year I went out with a BANG! House of the Year AND Scareactor of the Year for Gothic!

But I want to shout out to all of my fellow scareactors and especially to you guys on here who come see us and make it worth doing! Thank you to all the Gothic fans and fans of the Brotherhood of the Bell!

  4. I'm just so sick of te bs some guests get away with.

Oh well I'm hoping tonight isn't to busy. I wasn't intending on staying and coming tonight, but I've got nothing happening tonight so it was a spur of the moment thing...see you all tonight.

Just a warning...from what I hear tonight is UCF night...its gonna be busy with drunk college students.

  5. so yea... those waittimes they're texting out are completely wrong lol

I don't think thats right. Last night I was there as a guest, and when my wife and I left at 8:15 (I had to be at a movie shoot for an independent short) there were a TON of people in the park...a TON still coming in...and a TON of cars at the gates coming in. From what I heard is that HHN sold out last night. They were turning people away if they didn't already have tickets. Out of the 5 years doing this I cannot recall that happening. I may be wrong but I don't remember that.

I mean we extended park hours on Thursday til 2am because of how busy it was. Gothic was at a near 2 hr wait ON A THURSDAY! So when they say its over 100 minutes, I'm gonna believe it.

  6. Gothic - always the best house of the night.

    - I want to thank our amazing bell ringers on Friday night for not just providing amazing scares, but also for your concern. I'm not sure which cast we had at the time, but since all four of you are here, I know two of you were involved. The group in front of us thought it was funny to grab the ropes and swing them, toss them, and throw them every which way. The ropes ended up backfiring into my dad's face and smashed into his glasses. Luckily they didn't break (since Universal chooses smart materials for their props), but it did hurt his nose since he doesn't have a great bridge. The two bell ringers noticed this play out before I did and were already in front of him asking him if he was okay. Thank you! Why tell the story? To further support the on-going discussion in the Discussion thread that supports how much the scareactors love scaring, but that safety and concern is still the foremost priority at the event.

I was the one on the left and I remember that happening clearly. I love doing what I do and hate seeing someone get hurt because of somebody else's stupidity. I'm glad he seemed to be okay. Safety is our #1 concern. Both for our guests and ourselves. Thank you for the kind words

  7. Was that you?!? Lol. I died. Then when I went through last, seeing a gargoyle run out and nearly make a cop piss himself was priceless.

Yea it was. Because of the event extension we were given the choice to stay or not. I know some people have their other jobs and couldn't stay. But I asked our "boss lady" if I could stay the full last hour, she only let me stay 45 minutes (15 minutes past our last set time) but I went into the Finale and was just having a complete blast in there. Didn't allow me to stay to the end so I missed the cop

  8. Yeah tonight's crowds were horrible and security is slacking. Also because of the extension, Atleast dead end and gothic were mostly empty. It was funny seeing some scare actors not where they should be...

Might you be referring to a certain "Quasimodo" in the finally? :D

  9. I often take the rope away from people. I try not to swing it at people too much for fear they may get pissy and I get in trouble. However I can't say the rope has not swung at people from time to time, usually from it hitting off my big body.

Now if you were the last through it was not me and Laz. It would have been our tag-outs, Chris being mine.

  10. Apparently HoH and TWD also had incidents..

HoH - people punched, including our own Michaelz

TWD - 5 injuries and cops camped out. One scareactor had to get stitches

There were incidents everywhere last night. From what I was hearing is that there were people being thrown out within the 1st 45 minutes of park open. Several incidents at the sound stages...including one with me. I'm usually pretty tolerant of the stupidity that happens but after 5 years of doing this...last night was the 1st time I was involved with someone getting trespassed. Last night was ridiculously crazy but we made it through still performing at our best and with our heads held high

  11. I can't say what I think should get HOTY because I'm kinda bias to Gothic...however I would like to put in my opinion as to who should NOT get it. HoH everytime i've been through was boring and horrible. I have only gotten one decent scare out of the several times through. TWD...I'm so disappointed because I have yet to see many scares at all in there.

It takes many different stats to get HOTY. From guest comments/opinions on scares and design, to the amount of people going through the houses, to injuries and call outs by scareactors. Its a tough accolade to get but I hope beyond hope that Gothic gets me my "championship ring" so I may retire from being a scareactor

  12. don't take it personally, duder. Nothing makes this KID happy. A million dollars could land in his lap, and he'd probably complain that it wasn't in alphabetical order. Seriously. Don't waste your time.

Its not bioshock...oh wait wrong house...wrong year for that matter :)

  13. I'm considering blowing off the AP parties and doing stay and scream in NY. Does anyone know what the "official" start time of this house is? I can get a pretty good idea of cast A and cast B times from that.

House is scheduled to open at 6. So cast A's 1st set is 6-6:45
