  1. I hope this is for disabled... I want to go in through the front of the facade..

I don't get why this stair thing is an issue.. Anyone remember Where Evil Hides? (The Storyteller's original house.) There was a flight of stairs that ascended into the attic.(Where the scene from the 05' commercial was.)

You are going through the front of the facade. You just use a porch ramp instead of three steps. Judging by the size of the ramp it will be intended for more than just wheel chair guests. In fact you see the facade more because of the ramp. You aren't missing anything by not walking up three steps. I don't see why walking up the three steps is such an important thing for some people. You entered the original scream house and Scream house revisited by using a ramp.

  2. I know a lot of people were speculating on the LT facade and specifically, where you will enter the house. I have learned that you do indeed ascend the stairs in the yard, onto the porch, and you enter the house through the front door.

Just cause a group of people walked up the stairs last night to get into the house at rehearsals doesn't mean thats how the actual event guest will enter. There is a very long ramp built on the left of the house that takes you down the length of the facade and then U turns back towards the front to connect to where the stairs lead. This is prob how guest will enter the house when the line gets busy.

  3. So I have been doing some digging and I have discovered that some of the info I had stumbled across was not completely accurate. So despite my earlier reports saying there was only one ghost house I now have to retract that statement and there will indeed be ghost haunting more than just the Wyandot Estate.

  4. I'd like to go back to the comedic house speculation for a moment. It does indeed sound like Patrick Braillard was referencing Psychoscarepy when he stated, "but it's not the one you're thinking of." He followed that statement with, "If you think traditionally along the lines of all the houses that we've done, especially the sequel houses (I'll give you that hint), traditionally those sequel houses, depending on what they are, you see a different flair every single year, we're changing that up this year." Mike Aiello also mentioned Shaun of the Dead when describing comedic Horror.

So, I do think ZombieGeddon will be the house with a comedic tone this year.

Zombiegeddon is indeed our comedy house this year. You can get a sense of the tone from the description on the website and the name ZAP is a play on an element in the house as well.

  5. The LT chat on facebook appears to have given us some insight into the story behind The Wyandot Estate. I posted this in the LT thread but felt is was worth posting here as well since it relates to house discussion.

    Q. Are you worried about past or ex-collective members forming/continuing to operate under the title of Legendary Truth?

    A. Yes. This is a very serious concern. We are moving to have any rogue operators cease and desist the use of our registered trademarks. However, the legal process takes time.

This gives us some very interesting insight into the story line for the Wyandot Estate. I have included the exact question below:

Are you worried about past or ex-collective members forming/continuing to operate under the title of Legendary Truth with stolen equipment and conducting experiments at various haunted locals like, oh I don't know, The Wyandot Estate.

So it looks like there is more than just one Legendary Truth.

  7. I think it would be awesome if there was a giant lantern where the Skoolhouse was a few years back (by Mel's).

Perhaps with a perpetual flame effect and the bodies of our past icons trapped inside, reaching out from the lantern's crevices, burning in Fear's fire.

The lantern isn't going by Mel's. The lantern itself is fear's realm and this year we are ENTERING into that world. Much like passing through the mirror to enter BM world we have to pass through the lantern to get to FEAR.

  8. Yeah PS threw me off at first but I get it now,

also The thing that threw me off the Catacombs description was the "500 years" sentence, but if is not a ghost house or anything like that thenI guess the people that are going to attack intruders are the descendants or something? I'm wondering why 500 years? is not like the people with the plague were in the catacombs for 500 years, I dont know that really makes me confused and wondering about it

The 500 years is just a number. The premise really is it's suppose to be this community who years ago rounded up every and anyone who may of had the plague or symptoms of the plague and a few doctors and trapped them deep in these catacombs and left them there to die. No intention of ever finding out if the victims of the plague made it through or even letting any survivors out. They were left for dead. The 500 years comes into play because over time these events have been forgotten by the community as a whole and you need a long span of time for that to happen. There is a supernatural element to the house because when the catacombs are reopened to "clean out" they expect to find just dead corpses. Instead they find out these individuals have somehow survived but are these old almost mummy like beings seeking revenge. Now whether they are humans who have evolved into these mummy like individuals or the actual individuals who where locked in the catacombs 500 years ago and have become undead supernatural mummies of sorts is hard to say. Based on the description "Now that the dead inside have found a way out, they are rising to take their centuries old vengeance on any living being that dares to enter the Catacombs" the story points to it being the original victims locked inside the catacombs betrayed by the town.

  9. Thanks for that. I had missed it, and it's nice to get some more backstory for these houses that seem a little ambiguous. Suddenly, PsychoScarepy seems a lot stronger of a premise and I am even more excited for Catacombs.

I think those central aspects of the house stories are brushed over, which isn't going to help (in my mind.)

When I first found out PsychoScarepy was going to be back I was not excited at all. After hearing the story and how they're not going for the weird comedy or the Jack angle but just pure intense scares it has moved up on my list of most anticipated houses.

  10. Could someone explain to me what exactly the Psychoscareapy house is supposed to be? Is it supposed to be haunted by ghosts like Legendary Truth or are there just real crazy people running around? I figured it would be real people running around but the ghost looking thing on the house logo is complete throwing me off.

It helps to read past posts. :P;)

Ok, time to clear some things up.

The website is very basic this year on purpose. In past surveys the web site always got high marks from the fan boys but the general public hates it. It was always to confusing for them. They designed this site for the general public and as such all the general public cares about is what are the houses and scarezones, when are the dates of the event, and how do I buy my tickets. They don't want to know the whole backstory or have to solve fifty million puzzles or games to get info about the event. They just want the basic facts and that is all. If you want more from the site then visit Legendary Truth cause that is where all the additional clues, story lines, and fun stuff is going this year.

Zombiegeddon is indeed tongue in cheek and meant to be more fun/funny than scary. Just read the description and you can figure that out. We are going to ZAP ( The Zombie Awareness Program) which is NOT a high end zombie defense training facility but one that was open to make a quick buck. And with anything half ass'ed things don't go as planned. The Zombie Gras scarezone mirrors the humor and is A&D making fun of themselves in a way. Crashed parade floats and zombies throwing beads. Im fairly excited

Psychoscarepy: Echoes of Shadybrook from my understanding is NOT a ghost house. The basic story line is that in the basement of Shadybrook a handful of extremely dangerous patients where kept that only select members of the staff knew about. When Shadybrook closed down and the building was emptied these patients where never let out. Now they seek vengeance on anyone who wanders through the empty halls. This is suppose to be the original intense no-holds-bar scare inducing premise behind Psychoscarepy. No jokes, no games, no clowns, just pure fear.

Also, Catacombs: Black Death Rising is NOT a ghost house either. As it says in the description anyone who was suffering from or showed signs of the plague where thrown into the catacombs under the city and sealed inside left to die. The town is putting together a history event and they want to sweep that little part of the town's history under the rug so they open the catacombs to clean them out but discover some of the plague patients are still living in a sort of mummified state.

And in case it needs anymore clarification, there is only two shows this year. Brian Brushwood and Bill and Ted. No arrival type show.

  11. The lighting rig is indeed being used at HHN

What if they used that structure to make the lantern or something similar to it?

After all the description of the 20 Year's Of Fear Scarezone says "Step into the shadows of the last 20 years of fear... Move towards the lantern, and encounter the most frightening characters of Halloween Horror Nights past!"

The lantern is going elsewhere. After all, in order to enter fear's realm you need a entrance ;-)

  13. We defiantly don't have all the pieces to the puzzle yet. The update clued us in on that with the line : "Note: additional evidence discovered during investigation- Currently in C.I.L. for authentication." So they are stating that there is still more clues coming. You will also notice they included in the report: "No conclusions reached" If LT them selfs couldn't make sense of the evidence then I'm willing to bet there is nothing too major staring us in the face waiting to be discovered.

I do agree the symbols look like they are making a seal of some sort. What if it turns out to be a warped twisted version of the LT seal sent in to warn LT they are in danger. Or maybe its just a more general warning of some kind. Don't over think (yet). Once we have all the evidence only then can we start drawing accurate conclusions and solve the puzzle.

Also random observation, photos 1 and 3 are photos captured from video. Does the medium the image come from have any sort of significance. Image 1 and 3 also retain the most original coloring it seems.

  14. Strangeoneout, you don't know the Doom song? From Invader Zim? For shame....for shame....:P

And I have to agree that Demons of War sounds like a probable DOW translation. As much as it DOES sound alot like a military based house, if we do have a whole "open portal" scenario going on here, Demons of War sounds alot more like the winning ticket.

And I have to agree, Dr. Jimmy you're on your A-game today. However, the Planet of the Apes idea doesnt sound too likely. Good thinking though; maybe next year. :]

Ah, that DOOM song. Yes that song I know.

I'm sure some things were altered or shuffled about, but the event was pretty much nailed down before "certain members" left the team. Theme wise, advertising wise, and story wise, yeah, we'll see some changes brought about after this departure. But as far as major structural changes, house alterations, or other huge sweeping change, no, I don't think we'll be seeing that. You can't just arbitrarily change something in an event of this magnitude...there are carpenters, electricians, lighting and sound design people, actors, writers, artists...a literal army of folks who would have to be brought up to speed on these changes, wasting valuable time and money. Changes would entail redesign, rewrites, and brand new casting and costuming decisions. Stuff like that takes time, and when you're planning something of this size, 365 days is almost not long enough to get it done according to the original plan, let alone if new things keep popping up. You simply don't scrap something you've been planning for two-three years and replace it with something spur-of-the-moment.

I do agree with the basic premise that HHN has become a bit stale as of late, and it certainly does need a shot in the arm. (Or a kick in the ass.) But as far as this year's event being a huge, major, "Oh-my-whistling-frak-I-can't-believe-they-just-did-that" departure from previous events...well, I wouldn't hold my breath.

But, as always, I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. But I don't think I am.

EDIT: Oh, BTW, I am in love with Dr.Jimmy's "bomb mutant" idea. I also know for a fact that certain members of A&D love these old school sci-fi films with great passion...yes, even Beneath the Planet of the Apes (my rave fave Apes movie). Not saying that it means anything, really, but I'm sure they would find the idea of a house based on BPOA quite amusing, and I am QUITE sure they wouldn't hesitate to take inspiration from there. If they wanted to. Just saying.

If you start over soon enough then the sky's the limit. My understanding is that the majority of the event was re-conceptualized from the original event planned. The way they put the event together this year is unlike they have ever done in the past.

Dr. Jimmy, you card you!!!!! As I'm sure you already know He's implying that DOW stands for Dogs of War. Very juicy info if you ask me

I'm not sure why we continue to try and figure out what DOW stands for? Its has been confirmed that the majority of names this year are code names meant to throw people off. It's all a bit of a GAME to Universal really. We shouldn't be asking what DOW means but instead what is a DOW? And if you've been paying attention to this thread it has been mentioned once or twice what a DOW is. Maybe not exactly what a DOW is, but close enough.

At least the Crazies rumor finally seems to have died. I was about to SHOOT myself if I heard that theory again.
