Not much for "inside information" but I was out at Uni last weekend and was speaking to one of the Jaws cast members. The person said that the rumor floating around the Uni cast is that the Jaws house will be some sort of "fear extraction" house. The person probably was basing this on complete conjecture, but knowing how you guys love any info, I figured I would throw it out there.
That I'm sure comes from the fact that the name "Horizons extraction facility" is being painted on the house.

Hasn't been announced yet

Even a lot of these sound like Alice. People forget all the characters that were in the books (i.e. Humpty Dumpty) and only focus on the characters from the Disney movie. Maybe the Dorfs could be the Tweedles since they are normal thought of as short and fat, but HHN has made them tall and skinny in the past. Plus the whole Queen of Hearts and deck of cards would work into the theme well. I was gunna say if the watch role wasnt fake it could have been the white rabbit lol. I just hope if they use anything Alice that they go in a completely different direction than Asylum or Scary Tales.
I think a very edgy modern day or blade runner type take on fairy tales would be interesting.
-
because then it would be more obvious.
a good riddle needs something to lead you in the wrong direction.
A good riddle has one solid answer that once it has been stated answers all questions.

So in the spirit of SPECULATING I'm going to offer my two cents. I agree Lula. The names evoke a fairy tale sensibility. Also, I personally feel our three people in heaven clue points to a story teller. So I feel these roles may be fairy tale related and might be a new twisted take on fairy tales different from the Scary Tales franchise.
Disaster Overflow Queue (B67)
Woodteeth = Tooth Fairy
Dwarf = This is an incorrect role title. The correct spelling is Dorf. This can mean many things. Dorf is a common word for midget but also means village in german. Considering the individuals cast for Dorf are above 6' tall I highly doubt it has to do with a short person (unless thats the point) so I think it might be Villager.
Grass= Gnome
Top Hat= Mad Hatter
Love= Queen of Hearts
Watch= This role is fake.
Egg= Humpty Dumpy
-
While I agree with the DEATH comes to us all and it is our FATE I still have to ask why these three individuals. The clue could have just as easily been: In heaven, the three with whom I would talk? A young boy, A man who just heard he is terminally ill, and a man who sleeps eternally.
Why these specific individuals?

Red and Green. Like a roulette table perhaps...
-
Over on rumors the posting of the role Dwarf is false. The actual role is dorf.

Taking a different perspective they are all storytellers. Eoin Colfer is obviously a writer. Peter Falk tells stories through his characters and is very fondly remembered as the Grandfather story teller in Princess Bride. Steve Jobs has recently been called by social media sites our greatest and most powerful storyteller. http://www.socialmediaexplorer.com/social-media-marketing/power-of-storytelling/

For all those who keep thinking there will be an extreme house this year dont hold your breath. Also, we would know by now from auditions and permits if there was going to be 9 houses. HHN would need to see a substantial increase in budget before we will see a 9th house.
-
This prob means nothing but they all have ties to Disney. Disney just signed a three book deal with Eoin Colfer. Steve Jobs is on the Disney Board of Directors and Peter Falk was in the Disney film Corkey Romano and ABC aired the more recent episodes of Columbo.

Back in the day, before high tech video surveillance, Casinos built catwalks with mirrored glass that security personal could look down onto the casino floor from. From up there they could see the whole floor and monitor anyone who was possibly cheating.
Which location is it that we think has a lot of covered ceilings or possible up scares according to the permits?
-
According to the contractors Tent 2 is the house to see this year.

I have begun to hear many interesting things from many different sources, some of whom are proving quite reliable. Although I will not share everything I have heard just yet, as I will wait for more details and further corroboration, I can say this:
I have now heard from multiple sources which I find reliable that for the past three weeks Universal has been calling in young ladies to model for sketches of Fate and Chance, yep they will be the Iconic duo after all.
This makes no sense to me. The photo shoots for this year's event print media, marketing, billboards etc etc where completed about a month ago already. Why would they be bringing in girls now to "sketch."
Also i'm just gonna state this right now and you may take it however you please:
Chance is not our icon. We may have a new character named Chance but she/it/he will not be connected to the Chance of the past that we saw last year or in '07.
And that's three saying the same thing.
Now we can move on to something else...
EDIT - Moving on.
Street locations are listed as Hollywood, NY, Lucy, Shrek, and IFB.
No idea what IFB is.
Legacy, you missed one.
Here is the list as it appeared on the audition sheet:
HW
CP
IFB
LP
Shrek
NY
Listed else where on the sheet was Lucy.
IFB most likely mean International Food/Film Building.

I know he's over-thinking it.
I think a lot of people are over-processing the clues. WWI pilots... that's definitely going too far. There is symbolism in the cards, absolutely, and I have already stated (although I have to double check to see if the post is still here) who I am 95% certain the icons are... and it's right there in the cards. (And because I've already stated it, I see no need to dig for it myself... )
Remember from the recap I posted:
The farewell was for the icons.
Not all of the characters we know of were icons.
And one other tip for those who can figure it out:
What if A&D tipped their hand last year? I'll admit I disregarded it... but it's highly probable at this point. And I gave you another gambling hint.
Even Emeric's quotes start making sense when you put them in the right context...
I don't looking at WW1 pilots is going to far. So far Dr. Jimmy has been fairly on the dot and nobody has taken note.

Really? Did they look at your age when you auditioned? Well I canceled that appointment so I'd have to make one for another day when they become available again.
Im sure they had to notice cause they have to enter all of that information into the system. They never commented on it but they scrutinized my audition papers because they called me back in to ask specifically if i wanted to play jason Vorhees.

Do u guys think we will have a scarezone in front of disaster again this year or will it return to the kidzone or some where else?? Cause the only
Reason zombie GRAS was in front of disaster was because it tied in with Zombiegeddon
Actually, last year they reworked the scarezone areas for a couple of reasons. The first was because the scarezones in kid zone and the area right in front of Animal Actors where cirque du freak was caused to much confusion for most guests. They would walk through the area get turned around and get lost or not able to find the entrance to the houses. This is the main reason Silver Screams always had a short wait. Guest would could find kid zone would see the two houses and say hey I know what chuckie is but not Silver Screams. Enter the chuckie house and be dumped back out by MIB. Then when they walked back through cirque they'd get turn around and unable to find their way back in to Kid Zone.
Also, there has been several Chain Saw scarezones set up in front of Disaster over the past few years that the event moved back to Uni in 06.

Well I had to cancel my audition time because you have to be 18 at the time of the audition ( I turn 18 two weeks after ). Is there any chance of a august audition popping up? This sucks.
Back in 07 I auditioned as a 17 year old. In fact, I didn't turn 18 until my first night of rehearsal.

So I was in attendance at the Event dealing with the Caretaker. It was a team member recognition event called the AOA's. Basically all the attraction team members get together and awards are given out such as best team lead, spirt of universal award etc etc etc. In addition to this team members representing each attraction also make videos and submit them and an award is given to the best made video. (A good example of this is a video from a few years ago made by JAWS that you can find on youtube called "How to tune a fish")
This year for the awards they added best HHN house. Obviously the winner was already announced at the end of HHN but they still had two presenters come out to give out the award. Before they announced the winner however they told all the team members they where going to give "an exclusive first look" at this years event concept art. They asked all team members to put away and turn off all cameras and phones as they would not be allowed to take photos of the concept art. This was simply to just add credibility to the set up for what was a prank/joke. They then proceeded to show stick figure drawings of guests entering a haunted maze called "Haunted House" and then a stick figure of a guy with a chainsaw chasing other stick figures. All of this obviously being shown as a joke.
However, unknown to the two presenters while they where flipping through the slideshow of "concept art" Bryce dressed as the Caretaker was sneaking up behind them. One of the presenters eventually noticed him and flipped out because he was a huge fan of the Caretaker and this had obviously been setup by someone as a surprise for him. Bryce proceeded to stand on stage and make random non in character comments obviously just enjoying the moment.
So the Caretaker's presence means nothing more than he is a part of HHN and the presenter just happens to be a big fan of the event. No need to look any further into it than that.
Man I shouldnt type when Im tired. Sorry for any errors or all around bad grammar

I'd love to see the original RUN house redone. It's the only maze i've read about that I've never experianced that I really want too. It's incarnation in 2006 was fun but not the RUN I wanted. However I would be okay waiting till next year to see it. One repeat house this year is enough.
-
OK I have just read the last couple of pages of spec and first I am quite exited by the new show. BUT, it will NOT replace Bill & Ted! There WILL be a Bill & Ted show again this year, as it is specifically mentioned on the site!
The 1920s were very interesting years in history, and so was the decade preceding them.
It has been well established that movie adaptations will primarily be used at HHN in Hollywood, but I have some reason to believe we may still see some thing from the movies here this year.
I 100% agree with you Jimmy. Universal has a reputation of promoting their movies in the past few years.

When I say the return of one scare, a mean a scare. Don't over think that. Jaws won't be Catacombs, and I have no reason to believe it's a returning theme at all. If what I suspect is right, it would be a variation on something we have seen a couple of times in the past (but not recent).
Gotcha, when you said scare I assumed you meant scare zone.
-
Okay so in talking about this year's theme risk and chance are important. However Chance the Clown isn't from my general understanding.
Also, I hate to be that person but, I was talking to my friend who was able to talk to one of the painters working in the JAWS house and the word Roulette came into play. Take that as you wish but a casino in the boardwalk section of the park seems to make sense but ive heard conflicting reports over the location of a casino house. Ive also heard possibly one in the SS but the time table for the house and our 1930's isnt matching up.

I'd hope it was set up that way, but we just have to wait. Last year I was a few hours late to the first week of auditions and didn't get it, and was hoping this year I could try to avoid that, but then I found they switched to audition times this year, and in the end I still ended up a few hours late. Very annoyed/frustrated by that, but can't change it now... This year though I also set up an audition time for Howl-o-Scream in case I don't get an HHN position, something I didn't do last year.
Try to think of it this way. You're not competing with everyone that auditions before you. You are only competing against those who are a similar height, weight, and body type as you. So instead of competing against 50-60 people who go before you, you are instead only competing with a few handful of people.

You forgot the WWI house in the soundstages.
Also I feel this might be worth sharing:
I wonder how many people at Auditions picked up on the fact the sheet with work conditions list "must be able to work in extream heat or cold."
