  1. How come you guys only think that there will only be 8 games on the site? You do notice that when you do beat one of the games, only half of the poker chip is brightly colored while the other half isn't, right? Since there are eight chips and if there are going to be at least 3 more games to come, then why would all the chips be half colored in instead of the whole chip? I think that there might be alot more games after the next 3. My theory is that they will have a game based on all 6 scarezones and the 2 shows, 6+2=8. The eight games could fill in the other halfs of the poker chips, and it will be the perfect time to reveal the entire site after they do that. Because if this is true, (theories, not fact) the next 11 games could be be reaveled one game a day from now on, excluding saturdays and sundays. The last game could be revealed on the 29th, which would be around the same time the entire event is revealed. Would this be a good theory?

Nice thinking, but someone pulled the code from the site revealing all the names of all the games. I'm not an expert on computers so idk if they can/would add more games than what was pulled. I believe you can find them all on the game hints and tips thread :)

  2. You guys continue to mystify me. Clearly the poetic aspect is important - but the only notable "horror" poet I can think of is Edgar Allen Poe. Then again, I'm not very learned in poetry, much less poetry of the macabre... but I suppose that is my guess for now. Poe.

Would HHN really have the same rumored house as HOS? I mean HOS has a catacombs house but I didn't think would uni ever sink that low?

  3. Note guys that GV Black was released TWO MONTHS before Insidious. That and the fact that Murdy has never seen Insidious so it's not that. We have less than an hour and a half left guys! :D

In all honesty I doubt GV Black is Insidious, but HHN has done movie mazes before they came out. Plus I wouldn't put it past Murdy to lie about not seeing it to throw us off.

  4. Hmm trying to think if any of these things relate to insidious besides lots of SFX and an area that will be nearly pitch-dark...Sorry if this is a stupid question but what is a title character? and there is the old lady that has been following Josh who might have silver fillings? But thank you very much for this list Freak!(:

The old lady doesn't have silver fillings. HOWEVER the red-faced demon does :)

  5. Okay, so do with this information what you will, but my source told me they began/are about to begin shooting the commercial and THEY HAVE DETAILS! They have said the icon WILL be lady luck. So far all they have said about the commercial is there will be a person tied to a spinning roulette wheel. I am slightly hesitant with completely believing this information because it came from 'a friend of a friend' type deal. But oh well, its speculation

  6. He shouldn't have to explain. All he is stating is that, according to his source, our interpretation of the clue is correct. It's confirming something we have been discussing for over a week. We don't want to spell it out, because it wasn't spelled for us. Several have already figured out the icons, and we keep indirectly stating who they exactly are (and also, who they are not). You have to read more than the last page of a thread. Cody doesn't want to reveal his source, and that is perfectly acceptible.

I'm making this statement because this is the second time I've noticed you requesting an explanation or hand-out. It's, very likely, not going to happen.

Oh my gosh. My bad, I took his statement as him ONLY saying that he had a source that told him something. I didn't realize he was saying that the other's spec was correct. Also, I have been reading all of the pages, I just didnt notice that he wrote anything else. I guess the lack of sleep is taking its toll :)

  7. IFB could very well be a "Party Zone."

They hasn't done one in years, they're traditionally stilt heavy, the overall theme supports one, and that area of the park doesn't have the "safe zones" that scarezones normally have (no curbs, alternate routes or noticable markings).

It would kinda be nice to see a party zone come back. It's been a long time.

Sorry AGAIN for being such a clueless person, but could you please define "party zone"?

  8. So there's possibly going to be a scarezone where Lucy is rite in the middle of Plaza of the stars and Hollywood??

Sorry to be such a bother, but I am still kind of a newbie seeing as I have only been to universal twice (both times for hhn). Would that be were Lights,Camera,Hacktion was in 2009?

  9. The passive show-scenes with victimes (the Spine Rip is a perfect example) were a favorite of Roddy... so yeah. I'm almost positive the scareactors will be more agressive than the last few year and we won't be many victims anymore. The only "victim" I remember last year was Spine Girl in the Body Collector's room, which was used for nostalgia purposes.

If I remember correctly, there was also a victim in Saws and Steam... sorry, lol, just felt the need to be a smartass :)

  10. I don't really have time or patience to read the speculation right now so I'm sorry if you guys already confirmed or denied this, but I am pretty sure that "Soap Opera" is Scream. I was just watching an interview with a couple of cast members and Wes Craven. I kept hearing the film referred to as a sort of soap opera :)

  11. For the people who don't think a silent antagonist will work for Horror Nights, need I remind you of THESE minions?

    The-Body-Collectors66675.jpg

If I'm not mistaken, these guys are completely silent, yet they manage to scare the absolute sh!tes out of people regardless.

But could you honestly see someone like them as the star of the whole HHN event? What would they blast on the speakers besides the background music? How could they make an interesting radio advertisement?

lol I'm not trying to be an ass-hole about this, I'm kind of seriously wondering about those questions :P

  12. So we are going to get to see some of the members of the chainsaw drill team in leather, assless chaps? Hawt.

That.... Was the best response. EVER.

But anyways, The Librarian just simply wouldn't work. Every icon so far has talked and I am certain that there voice, however much they talk, is a really important element in the media. People can connect much easier if they HEAR the icon. It makes them feel connected to it. There are bound to be people who are going to whine and complain about her being too close to Elsa. There is also complications with the literature theme that goes along with the Librarian. Not many people read anymore and the target audience has probably never even read "Pride and Prejudice" or the other classics. The ones they have heard of HHN has already done with the ScaryTales trilogy, Asylum in Wonderland, and Path of the Wicked. Too many complications and I'm sorry to say that we are perhaps over-estimating the Creative Department or whatever they are called (sorry, I'm not being a smart-ass. I forget what they are called and I'm too lazy to look it up). If they can screw up that badly on a seemingly fool-proof plan of using Fear personified, I doubt they can make a good year with all the obstacles they face with The Librarian. I really would like to see it and I really hope they can prove me wrong this year.

  13. Heather, you know that I love and respect you enormously, but I am afraid that adapting any works by Stephen King would be highly problematic. First they would have to acquire the rights from King himself, and I understand that he has been somewhat reluctant to allow his works to be adapted for theme park haunted attractions.

Secondly the book in question is of course, It. Somehow in this New Era of Darkness, I think that that book about an evil clown would be the last King work they would consider for HHN, what with the major Jack overdose we have had for the past 11 years.

IF they do adapt literary works at all, it seems far more likely that they would choose those in the public domain that have high public recognition. Poe comes to mind.

I do agree that it would be slightly problematic, but the rumor of IT does have some weight to it. They are remaking the movie right now, so couldn't it go the way of promoting it, like they did with The wolfman? Plus the new movie is showing more of the other side of IT, going for less of a clown and more of an evil entity disguised as the clown.

  14. Well, I haven't been on here in a LONG time and i can't catch up on all of the speculation so I'm sorry if I say something wrong... But has anyone stopped and realized that maybe the icons aren't done, they just were changed? They had the markings on their face, their personalities changed somewhat, and they made appearances in the houses. Maybe we are just getting deeper into their story involving Fear. After all, the "New Age of Darkness" has already began, so why can't they be apart of the change? Also, they said that there was a some-what strong chance that they will use Cindy for XXI. They had the story-line and design quite developed already, check it out:

Anyways, that's my whole thought process on this year, any response?

  15. Okay, so I finally went through this house tonight and honestly, I'm sorry but it sucked. The facade is amazing, and the sets were okay, but the effects in the house seemed to me like a wannabe Disney's Haunted Mansion, but with worse effects. The masks weren't creepy or scary and really took down any fear factor that may have been there. The floor effect was empty so I don't have an opinion on how good or bad it works. The ghost maid was barely noticeable, and when noticed, it didn't look good. The hallway sets were okay, but seriously, it would be kind of hard to make a hallway with cables look bad. The costumes just looked goofy as well; There are plenty of ways to make scareactors look ghostly and what they were going for here failed. I didn't quite understand why in the living room there were white faces hidden behind the black curtains; no lights flashed, they didn't glow, they were just there. The conservatory scene, while it was ok, was too predictable for my taste, but the scareactors worked their roles well. I didn't think the exorcism room looked that great at all; it looked like a random neon painted black clothed scareactor sitting on a square blue light. I guess I enjoyed the dresser levitating, but that's it. I will say I loved the chair guy; Kudos to the costume team and the scareactor for making it work as well as it did. I barely remember the finale if there even was one. This house suffered from a good concept to a poor delivery.

By far the worst house of the event for me.

    1.5/5

Okay. you missed one of the best scares then. In the living room with the hidden faces, the faces lit up, engraving the image into your cornea so when you close your eyes you can still see it. Well, anyways, they lit up one by one and each time one lit up there would be a large BOOM. After that was done there was a large clang and a ghost woman popped out of the wall and it happened really fast. so BOOM BOOM BOOM CLANG AAAHHH!!!!

  16. Since no one has mentioned it yet.

Bedclothes or bed clothes are not pajamas.

    From Free Dictionary

Wonder if it will be like the plushie from chucky?

Then that makes me think more of like NOES... with the (bare with me on this, i forgot the exact detail names...) burned house and Nightmare Man.... like you go into the burned house and all of a sudden you see this HUGE bed and you have to go under the bedclothes (seeing as they like to put things in your face that you have to push aside) and Freddy gets in for a scare. Just something to swish around in your mouth. ;)
