I really hope this is a good maze, but I want to be scared by the actors, not with some image coming towards me from the wall. lets just hope the other mazes are way better than this, and hopefully this one is in the shrek queue
I think Universal, more so then most places, relies heavily on the talent of the scare actors. So I don't think they'd replace them with effects. My hope is that the 3D aspect is used to enhance the atmosphere of the maze. I wonder if you can apply 3D effects to their make-up? That'd be trippy to have a live face coming at you all distorted by 3D effects.

I'm just hoping they don't make the Otis clan into the Icons, that would feel kind of underwhelming. It's funny, when I was looking at the Klownz stuff, I kept thinking about Captain Spaulding from House of a 1000 Corpses.

Well I can honestly say that I never saw that coming.
I really didn't enjoy that movie, but hopefully the maze will provide a more memorable experience. I'm interested in trying out a 3D maze, it'll be fun to experiment with. I wonder what sort of effects they'll utilize in a maze? I know other parks have attempted it, but I've heard pretty mixed opinions about it. Given that Universal usually invests a bit more cash into their mazes then most parks, I'm hoping they really kick that shit up a notch and deliver something no one has really experienced before.

On an unrelated note, when looking on AOL.com... I saw that Bill Cosby Dead is one of the top things searched. Really? He died? o_O

No, it was actually another person with a similar name that died. It caused quite a bit of confusion back in February, Bill had to come out and say that he was still alive lol.

So it's pretty obvious that he can't come out and confirm every little detail that we want confirmed and it seems we accept this fact, so why are people complaining about it? Jeez, I think it was a mistake for Mr. Murdy to start a Twitter account since all people want to do is bitch and moan about every little thing.
And if someone can't reveal information, it's not considered misleading, it's withholding. If anyone is doing the misleading and lying, it's members of the community that claim to have inside knowledge or are putting out fabricated evidence.
Anyways, I'm down with this and this conversation should really be held elsewhere since this thread is for speculation.

Sponsorship most likely, it doesn't really change anything though, AOL most likely just paid to have the exclusive. That wont change when the Press Release is announced, that's still decided by Universal.

Actually what I would want is a Unmasking The Horror tour like Orlando. Where we get there early go thru the mazes (during the day and minus the Scareactors) and we get a tour guide to give us info on the mazes. That would be amazing.

I don't think Mr. Murdy is "dicking us around." He's a cog in a bigger machine. If someone up higher tells him to hold off on releasing information or promotional material, then that's what he has to do. I'm sure there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes that cause things to be delayed that we aren't privy too.

A good chunk of people do have a fear of clowns though, so what's wrong with utilizing that aspect? Sorry this scarezone didn't do it for you, but we still have a few more yet to be revealed, maybe you'll find what you're looking for there.

Maybe we won't have to wait as long as we thought! Maybe we'll finally find out if that rumored Zoolander maze is true!
Of course I was just kidding about the last part.
In a couple of weeks it'll be August, so we're still kind of on the same timeline lol.

Would it possible for you to link them? I'm interested in seeing what people have thought of prior ones.
If that's the case though, here's hoping that Universal has learned from those people's mistakes and will improve upon them. Universal does have some of the best 3D attractions as well, so it'll be interesting to see how their experience from rides like Kong 360 and Terminator 3D influence how they construct the maze.
