  1. that was an american lady she lived in like north carolina or something like that lol

and im pretty sure that was for sure real ha

Haha, you don't think the original La Llorona could've been based on something that really happened? Legends change and adapt for each generation, reflecting the times they exist in. While most older people still use the traditional story, it's not entirely uncommon to hear it told in different ways. No matter how she kills her children or why (because the why has changed frequently as well) at the root of the story, it's about a women tormented by her crimes.

  2. but you dont think murdy can tweek it a bit, if they were pushed into a flooded river in a Storm from a high up bridge wouldnt be too hard to believe, plus youd dont want it cheesy so wouldnt midgets dressed as kids make it chessy?

I've heard updated versions where she locked them in a car and pushed it into a lake.

  3. Its really to hard to say why, we cant really speculate that this is all true to begin with, afterall it's still a very High Leveled RUMOR. Although it may be very possible, we cant really speak much. Murdy had said a while back that he was being approached by alot of movie studios to do mazes of thier movies so for me it' hard to spculate that he would bring back a certain property just after one year. Maybe this "Rumor" was started to throw us off track.

That's very true and unless someone snags a picture of a Camp Crystal Lake sign before the announcement, I'm just going to reserve judgement till then.

  4. While I'm a fan of Jason, I share everyone's feeling that it would be rather disappointing to have him and Freddy return. One or the other would be okay, but I really have no interest in going through both again. If this is the case, then I want a complete overhaul of the Jason maze and I don't want to see any returning props/scenes from the previous ones.

  5. So who are our potential sources for information this time since Mr. Murdy said he doesn't know who will have the exclusive? So far we've had info come from: Shock Till You Drop, Dread Central and AOL (anyone else?) so it could be anyone of those guys or a new source like....my blog! :o

Okay, it's not going to be my blog. :( But I'm just throwing it out there in case anyone in promotions is looking for an untaped outlet ;)

I asked one of the guys at Dread Central if they'll be putting up maze info and all he said was "We will when we get it." So either that means they're gonna get an exclusive or they'll just repost it when everyone learns about it.

  6. Hey guys look what I found! I was looking around on TPA because I was bored and came across this link right here: http://themeparkadve...-universal.html

I came across a brief paragraph that I found interesting:

The theme park's favorite thrill-ride attractions will also remain open for "Halloween Horror Nights" as well, many with menacing twists. Favorites include "The Simpsons Ride®," "Revenge of the MummySM – The Ride" and "Jurassic Park® In the Dark." Additional new content for the 2010 Halloween Horror Nights mazes and attractions will be announced shortly.

So does this mean we're getting that special "scary" overlay for Mummy and Jurassic Park this year?

They say that every year and the most I've ever seen are pumpkins and a body in the Jurassic Park ride haha. It would be awesome, but honestly, it's not a huge deal for me. I spend most of my time running through the mazes and the park, I really don't jump in the rides unless I have time.

  7. Any other maze predictions?

My guess is Hills Have Eyes.

Haven't heard anyone say anything about it in awhile.

Plus he said he's looked into it before.

And there may be a possible theme here... groups of killers instead of one slasher.

    Just thinking outloud!

And because it was next to HOTC in my DVD collection in the horror section lol

The Hills Have Eyes would work really well in certain areas of the Terror Tram, like that area where you climb up the hill and it's all bushy.

  8. EPIC EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO DR. SATAN, GOODBYE DR. FRANK-N-FURTER!!!!!

RIP our sweet transvestite, may the angels of promiscuity and sexual decadence carry u on to the moon-drenched shores of transylvania.......................... :(

That was beautifully put horror lover.

So it's for sure that Rocky Horror wont be returning? I kept hearing different stories, so I stopped paying attention hehe.

  9. Since it it will be in cuirious George .. The lower lot is still open!!

He just tweeted that it wont be in the Curious George area.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't in the lower lot, that area typically has some kind of redneck/hellbilly type theme going on there.

Alright, here's kind of my thoughts on this from my blog:

Alright, I'm gonna put it out there. I'm not all that jazzed about a maze based around a movie that's only redeeming quality was that it featured Zombie's hot ass wife. However, as I said in a Manifesto oh so long ago, I really don't need to be surrounded by characters I love or even know to be terrified by them. If the design and quality of the maze is good, then that's all that matters.

It's interesting that HHN tends to be a reflection of what's popular among horror fans and movie goers these days, so it really should have come as no surprise that the use of 3D technology would come into play this year. With more and more movies (especially those of the horror genre) falling prey to the 3D virus that seems to be sweeping the industry, it would be inevitable that a park already famous for utilizing 3D effects in it's attractions would apply it to it's Halloween event. It's not the first time that a park has attempted to make a 3D maze though. Various uses of it at events like Knotts Scary Farm seem to have been effective, but rather limited in it's use, restricted mostly to having colors pop off the mazes. So given that Universal has had such a innovative relationship with 3D in their other attractions, I'm hoping they'll manage to bring some of that into their maze and provide an experience yet to be seen in any other theme park.

  10. "The 2010 Halloween Horror Nights event will open in late September and will include new mazes inhabited by 'House of 1,000 Corpses' characters such as Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), Otis (Bill Moseley), Mother Firefly (Karen Black) and Killer Karl (Chad Bannon). Zombie and other top artists are acting as consultants on the mazes, 'scare zones' and 'backlot experiences,' in which Zombie's movie monsters will literally leap out at the park's visitors."

Maze(S)? More than one? Hm... I really hope not, haha

From the sounds of it, it's almost as if the whole event will revolve around Rob Zombie's stuff....

But he did say it's not the MAIN maze... I really hope those are just typos.

Probably just a typo, but I'm not surprised about the scare zone and backlot experience, the mazes tend to bleed out into other areas of the park.

As for Scream 4, didn't Mr. Murdy deny that already? I could've sworn there was a tweet where he said he was looking into next year for it.

  11. So I wasn't able to make it to Universal today.. that's the problem of having one half of a two person group having work on that evening, and being two hours away, I couldn't be able to have much time to do anything there. It makes me really sad...

But... House of a 1000 Corpses? Isn't that practically a repeat in itself? I'm hoping that's not the lower lot maze..

In related news, Westcoaster posted their update for the park... and although the normal spots such as Wild Wild West and Shrek 4D queue aren't very visible, the lower lot is coming together. You can see photos of continued construction, plus some shots of the work area. It looks like there's a chimney in the work area, and some purple colored wallpaper in ending scenes and dark colored wall colorings in the possible exit.

Well I think he can escape the "No Repeats" thing by saying it's an entirely different experience and maze since it's in 3D, which I'm willing to give him. Hmm, I wonder if they'll put the house in the Lower Lot. There's not much to go on, but given that there's a chimney, it could indicate there's going to be a house down there. Usually all the crazy redneck stuff is in the Lower Lot.

  12. ok other Lions Gate Movie that could be a Maze

    1.Darkness Falls

    2. The Descent

    3. Hostil

    4. Skinwalkers

    5. Daybreakers

now I know its a shoty list but these are the only Films that I reckognize all the other Horror (Minus SAW and MBV) are weird obscure one these are just the ones I remeber being in theater unless were doing another multi studio year

I would love a Descent maze, it'd be sweet having an experience where you seemingly go deeper and further down into a cave inhabited by blood thirsty humanoid creatures. Sadly, I believe Mr. Murdy has never seen that movie, so I doubt he'd make a maze based on a movie he's never seen. :(

  13. so thats 1 out of 5 we got 2 other studio properties paramount did HOTC right? I look up Horror Movies under Paramount to see what else could be the other 2

PS I hope the maze is like this

Edit: never mind a made a BOOBOO Its Lion's gate which scares the crap out of me now SAW better not show up again hold on I just put 2 and 2 togather the lower lot maze is the home of "DR SATAN!!!!!!!"

I actually wouldn't mind a Dr. Satan scare zone, that whole scene where she stumbles into his underground lab or whatever it was, generally freaked me the hell out.

  14. hold up this sounds wrong Unless Murdy double lied he said he never do a 3D maze because because of the Cheesyness of it and they said Rob was just a judge for the Short Film compatition and beside House of 1000 corpses what (and Devil rejects are the exact same character) there nothing else we can use from him So im confused as hell

EDIT: Nevermind, I get what you were saying now.
