  1. I got excited when I saw those stake because I thought they were actually ink pens... Like how Disney has the princess bust pens? I wish they would have done that with the icons!

me too, I saw them on twitter and wasn't sure so I asked the person that posted it if they were pens. Dissapointed they're not

  2. They are probably still under the "licensing window" where they don't have to pay for the rights again...and can put in literature "The highest rated house in the new millennium returns!!!!" or something along those lines.

don't they own the rights? I just rewatched the movie a couple days ago and the universal logo thing played at beginning of it.

  3. Surprised more has been going up. I thought they were in the process of removing things with the impending storming heading towards Florida.

Either way, it looks awesome! Wonder what the zone will sound like. I loved the soundtrack in the Voodoo section last year so I have high hopes.

For the Scary Tales Scream Punk area, what iconic characters fit in that zone? I have never been into a house with the Scary Tales name, but I did some research and it seems like fairy tales, but then I read that Wizard of Oz was featured and I don't consider that a fairy tale. Then earlier tonight somebody mentioned Bell and Cinderella and I don't consider them fairy tales either. I guess they are, but to me stories like Hansel and Gretel, The Boy Who Cried Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood are better fairy tales. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing a steam punk version of Bell getting chased by an evil steam punk Beast.

all of the above have been in the Scary Tales houses. Wizard of oz, Cinderella, red riding hood, hansel and gretel, the three little pigs (I think), and Alice In Wonderland (which has its own house this year). Some of those aren't fairy tales, yeah but it does include actual fairy tales too. Mostly all  type of stuff that would appear on the show Once Upon A Time, which was originally said to be fairy tales but includes other non fairy tales and even more of them as the series has went on.

  4. The rides listed are only the ones open during HHN.  It makes sense that a Minions ride isn't open during an adult event.  Just like Shrek was never open during events.  Minions will surely be open during the day...thought Shrek I don't know about.  Not sure it they're demoing it or remodeling it and if the other theater will be open (sure if you search the topics you'll find the answer, I'm just guessing).

minions was open the last couple years, since it opened it has been open for HHN I'm pretty sure. And I'm all for as many rides being open because that'll take away from the crowds in the houses and make wait times smaller. So kinda sucks that they decided not to make Minions open

  5. when did that happen when they actually promised it happening at midnight? I know it happened a lot later than people thought in 2013, but they never promised midnight then. They said something like don't go to sleep or stay up late, I forget exact wording. I think because of the countdown it should be right at midnight or at worse a minute or two late which isn't really a big deal

  6. Well I'm excited for most of the houses actually. I am very excited for Insidious, Purge and FvJ because I love their movies. I am unbelievably crazy excited for Alice, because I just love anything Alice In Wonderland. Big personal bias why I'm so excited about that one. Very excited for "Blizzard" because I love those characters. Very excited to see the all the old stuff in Anniversary. I'm excited for Run just because it's original, and possibly have Eddie, it sounds good to me. Only houses I'm not excited for are TWD and AWIL. I'm not going to go one by one with the scarezones, but all 5 of them sound great to me. So I'm very excited for the houses and scarezones. Only disappointment to me really is the terrible marketing. I am glad that TWD isn't the sole focus of marketing this year so far. Hope it's not for the commercial either. But the marketing doesn't mean anything for the event itself. The event itself sounds great to me.

  7. I wouldn't be surprised if someone cries foul that they were called a fool, has their feelings hurt, then complains and the Twitter feed gets shut down.  Such is the PC world we now live in.

if they can't call people fools (which really isn't that bad, at all) then we might as well cancel every Halloween event/haunt ever.
